No HID interface and No mode monitor internal wifi / Nexus 5 - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I installed this rom "nethunteros-nethunter-hammerhead-cm-14.1-hammerhead" and I installed this package "kalifs-armhf-full.tar.xz" in the chroot manager via "NetHunter" on my Nexus5
My wifi usb stick externally via the otg, works very well.
But I cannot put my internal wifi card in "Monitor" mode.
The "NetHunter" application also tells me that I do not have a HID interface.

Which means that the "DuckHunterHID" does not work, neither does "Rucky".
Especially when I launch the "Nexmon" application, as soon as I try to install the pack on the home screen and the application crashes and stops instantly.
How can I fix the problem?
Thank you

I wrote you a very detailed tutorial, but if you don't read it it will not magically be solved, mate. ;/
https://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/problem-tl-wn722n-1-10-nexus-5-6-0-1-t4022565
I told you that the rom isn't the right one...earlier that only the _old and "smaller"_ kalifs builds are working with this build, so they do not crush the entire install.
Hid most likely will not work, here as well.
But the usage of the internal WiFi chipset + external adapter with supported chipset are working fine.
If you have trouble understanding use a translator or just ask in your 1st thread.
No need to open one here and on gitlab.
Best of luck

I finally install LOS-hammerhead-14.1-20170102-nethunteros + the last kali-fs released on the site https://build.nethunter.com/kalifs/kalifs-latest/.
Is I have both HID interface, it works wonderfully with Rucky and DuckHunterHID.
My TL-WN722N in OTG works perfectly.
I installed Nexmon and I still can't put my bcm 4335/4339 wifi chipset in monitor mode.
I tried to patch the firmware via Nexmon but it cannot find the firmware "no such or directory".
What date do you recommend kali-fs in hammerhead?

Thank you

You use this kalifs build:
https://build.nethunter.com/kalifs/release/kalifs-armhf-full.tar.xz
Afterwards don't use the Nexmon app, mate.
If you want to set the internal chipset into 'monitor mode', type
source monstart-nh
To stop run:
source monstop-nh
If you want to run airodump-ng for example, type
airodump-ng wlan0
For wifite
wifite -i wlan0
Good luck and have fun

Thank you !!!
Everything works flawless.
I have the full pack, Wifi in OTG + HID interface + Monitor Internal Wifi

Awesome. Tested and working great in zulu's Full Android ROM as well. (Connection over network/tcpip)
.
Great! Thanks for testing and feedback
hi Jocala, I am new to the shield - is it the same as FireTV it automatically can ADB (wifi) in?

The primary means of connection is USB. Nvidia hasn't enabled support for adb over wifi; you can enable it temporarlly with the tcpip button, but you have to be connected via USB first.
Other than that, it's the same.
Hi Jocala - when you mean temporally enabling TCPIP is a short period session? or once its enabled I don't have to worry about it again.

It's enabled until you reboot the Shield.
Hello Jocala
Could you please explain how you need to connect via TCPIP the first time - should i connect my laptop via USB and then run ADBshield ?

1. Connect Shield to computer via USB
2. Run adbShield and connect via USB.
3. Press TCPIP button
This sets up the Shield to allow connections over wifi/ethernet. However, once the Shield reboots you have to do this all over again.

HDMI and USB died ?

Hello, today i received my package containing used nvidia shield 32 GB LTE. Perfect looking, already rooted with blisspop. But it wasn't used about a year so its a bit outdated.
TWRP was gone so i have installed newest one and flashed mini gapps package which was missing. Installed everything i needed and it works goodly even 3g is working (haven't tested with LTE SIM)
Now back to problem ... it completely doesn't react when i connect HDMI cable form TV or USB form PC.
Missing drivers is not a problem but he doesn't even show in devices ... no popup at all. NOTHING
Same goes for HDMI ... no info on tablet nor in TV.
MTP and debugging onions are on ... checked this 1000 times before posting.
Current specs for those who might know whats going on.

Have you flashed proper DTB file (latest BitO-K6 ) ? You can get info in this thread about it.
Sorry for reactivating this threat.
I have a problem with hdmi and Bliss v6.x. If I plug in the hdmi cable I can chose beween console and the other option. But in none of this modes any sound is aviable via hdmi. The cable is ok, tested it with another tablet.
Sound works without hdmi. With hdmi no sounds at all (neither films nor system sounds). This error was discovered by my dad, who uses the tablet in his holidays to watch films via hdmi on his tv. (I don't use the tablet with hdmi and I was very surprised).
Everything worked fine on the old BlissPop 4.x. Are there any known problems? A roll-back is not a solution.
Currently I use Bliss v6.4 latest nightly.
It is well known that sound does not work through HDMI on any m custom Roms.

This is not my own tablet and i have been very busy lately so i haven't touched anything yet.
But its 100% safe to flash new kernel into current ROM? It says that K6 is for Marshmallow.
I dont think that DTB is necessary since i have no charging issues.

Unable to connect phone to PC for file transfer

I have had the phone for just under two weeks and all seemed to be running fine until I plugged the device into the PC recently, I changed the connection mode from charging to MTP but nothing happened, I followed the instructions in this thread but still no success. I've attached a screenshot showing the discrepancy in the setting and notification bar.

The notification bar shows charging only whilst in the settings it shows MTP, though the PC does not detect it. Anyone else experienced anything similar?

You have to tap the notification (it will open a popup) and change to MTP each time you connect to the computer.

On the first day when I connected the phone to my PC everything was fine, I installed Xperia Companion and was able to access the internal storage/memory card. I tried on another PC and again all seemed fine. It is just on my main PC, there is a driver error (according to Windows device manager). Updating fails, uninstalling and plugging the device back in also doesn't work.
I think I have found the cause, https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...soft-wpd/9f900903-50d8-4935-939d-5dbf8d6bd1d0
Now I need to figure out a way to remove the faulty driver!

Problem solved!
Problem solved, it is caused by the new driver update (Microsoft – WPD – 2/22/2016 12:00:00 AM – 5.2.5326.4762), it seems to have issue with some devices-specifically Mediatek powered ones. The solution is simple, uninstall the driver update via Windows, if that isn't possible then use system restore, if even that fails (like in my case) then the driver can be manually removed using command prompt, as explained here. Now the device connects fine, just like it used to.
As far as I am aware the update has now been pulled so shouldn't install. I triggered the installation of the update myself after manually checking for updates-that's the last time I'll be doing that. :silly:
Fix
Apparently there's a very simple solution. Same thing happened with me a few days ago, search for " How to Fix MTP! problem in windows 10 " on Youtube uploaded by " Infinity Studio " watch this it solved my problem. (Sorry can't post link as m still a junior member)

USB connection works only sometimes on SAMSUNG S4 ValueEdition (lineage-18.1-20210717-nightly-jfvelte-signed.zip)

Hi,
I have installed the last LineageOS 18.1 (Android 11) on a SAMSUNG S4 Value Edition.
I got almost everything working, but the USB connection.
Settings-System-Advanced-Developer Options-Default USB Configuration = File Transfer
Now, if I go in System-Connected Devices and the USB cable is plugged in it should appear OTHER DEVICES - USB connection but it doesn't !!! It actually does appear but only very very rarely and randomly !!!
Please offer feedback, many thanks !
Regards
You set USB-mode to File Transfer ( AKA MTP ): File transfer will change your phone to USB mass storage, allowing you move files between the phone and the other device (such as your computer). To access phone in this USB-mode requires another driver.
Many thanks for the quick reply.
But that was the idea! I want to be able to access the S4 jfvelte internal memory (pictures, docs, etc) from a PC.
My expectation was that when I connect the phone to the PC (Win10) via USB cable I can access the phone from WinExplorer but this is NOT so... only very rarely the phone is shown in Explorer.
Contrariwise when I connect another (real) S4 with the official Android 5 I can always access the phone from the PC.

Does it mean that one should update the jfvelte USB driver first ?
If YES how can I do this ?
Where can I find the right USB driver ?
On windows PC install the MTPdrive 4.1 app - a trial version - what is attached:
MTPdrive is intended to map devices to a drive letter. It works with all devices that operate in MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) mode.

Done. However I cannot notice any change.
The phone is still not visible in Explorer.
If I start the MTPdrive.exe there is no device detected:
I have just installed the last UBS drivers from SAMSUNG (Samsung-USB-Driver-v1_7_43_0.zip) on the Win10 PC.
The Samsung S4 phone (jfvelte - Lineage 18.1) behaves in the same way, namely the phone is most of the time not accessible from the PC via the USB cable. This looks to be a LineageOS 18.1 jfvelte bug. Any idea if there is a way to talk with the LineageOS developers, eventually to report such an issue ?
Hi,
The topic is solved: it was because the phone screen was locked ! as soon as one connects the USB cable to the phone AFTER unlocking the phone screen it works as expected, meaning one can access the files/pictures etc which are being stored on the phone !!!
Many thanks for all !!!

This kernel is based on SixTeen Kernel.Tested on Pixel Experience AOSP ROM(Yea, it works there.)
SUPPORTED DEVICES:SM-A525F and SM-A525F/DS
It might work on SM-A525M too but I need testers.
ADDED NETHUNTER PATCHES:
1) RTL88XXAU Wi-Fi adapter driver patch
2) Monitor mode patch
3) ath9k naming conflict patch
WORKS:
MAC Changing
KeX
USB Arsenal (HID attacks and DuckHunter included. But I will have note about it.)
USB Wi-Fi adapter (Will have note about it too.)
Nmap
Bluetooth Arsenal (Read note below.)
SET
Wardriving
DeAuth(will be note in USB Wi-Fi part)
NOT TESTED:
Mana Wireless Toolkit(Removed from kali repos)
MITM Framework
Pineapple Connector
Bad USB MITM
DOESNT WORK:
SDR(Read the note below.)
Kernel contains all tweaks of SixTeen Kernel.
INSTALLATION:
1) Unlock bootloader of device.
2) Install TWRP
3) Flash the ZIP. It is AnyKernel3 zip so don't worry about losing Magisk
4) If you will use SDR, continue these steps and read the note below.
5) After installing, for external Wi-Fi adapter support, install Wireless Firmware for Nethunter or generic arm64 nethunter build. Those are Magisk modules.
6) Have Fun!
NOTES:USB Arsenal:In USB Arsenal, whenever you either select HID mode alone or with Mass storage functions, it will not set the USB function when ADB option will be enabled.
For making it work, you have to make it:
This will not be needed if you will use RNDIS and HID together.USB Wi-Fi adapter:I personally have only MT7601U wireless adapter and it works very well with aircrack,mdk3 and so on.
You might try and send me results as well.
The note was about internal Wi-Fi adapter. Internal Wi-Fi adapter supports monitor mode but it doesn't support injection.
It can sniff networks, capture handshake and work with PixieWPS attacks. Oneshot script which is attack script to WPS enabled networks work on internal adapter but you have to add `-F`(force) option.
And DeAuth in GUI. It doesn't work with internal adapter. It doesn't even detect nearby Wi-Fi.But with external Wi-Fi adapter, everything is good.
SDR:Since I have never heard that someone uses their phone(especially A52) with an SDR device such as HackRF or AirSpy, I didn't enable those features in kernel. But if you use SDR devices and this kernel, then let me know. I will try to make SDR features enabled version of it.
Bluetooth Arsenal:Internal bluetooth adapter works with BlueBinder but it won't work on attacks. Prefer to use external bluetooth adapter.

Answer is... yesn't.
Both yes and no.
You an connect using CLI interface inside Kali Chroot environment. But it will only will make Chroot environment to connect, not the device itself. You will be able to access internet inside Chroot, not in Android.

You can. For this, you have to remove/rename internal wifi adapter's interface and plug external in. I didn't try renaming it but I tried removing internet adapter's interface and it set external wifi adapter as Wlan0 and NetworkManager of android(the wifi tab in status bar) used external adapter.
