I'm using "note 10 pro".
Nice device.
However, there is a "sensitivity problem" on the curved screen edges.
There are problems with the letters on the left and right sides of the keyboard.
Need to touch hard. Need to apply pressure.
There may be a software error.
Or they willingly reduced sensitivity.
How do I solve?
The edge of my screen where it starts to curve is not sensitive enough. The "1" and "0" and "a" and "p" keyboard keys are very difficult to press. I end up having to turn the phone side-ways so the screen flips making the keyboard position entirely on the flat part and not hitting the curved edge. This is very very frustrating to the point where I'm changing all passwords to not use any of those keys. Doesn't help much but a little. The phone got such great reviews but I find it very difficult to use because of the lack of sensitivity on the edges.
I don't have this issues with my 10pro. Maybe it's a broken device.

Examine more carefully.
Touch the keyboard keys 10 times again in a row.
Tap hard. then soft tap.
You will notice.
Have absolutely no touch issue on my device. Zero. And I am very sensitive about things like that. I even use a UV Glue glass for it that I bought off ebay. (was bit messy to apply but I was prepared after using Whitestone glasses elsewhere.)
Aaanyhow. My device has superb sensitivity even with glass. IMO you have a faulty device.
I have also tried on different devices. they deliberately reduced the touch sensitivity on the rounded edges.
Please see in detail.
understand what I want to say.
I don't have a problem either.
I've tried it on 4 different devices.
sample:
Samsung has increased the sensitivity on the curved screen.
But it has developed a setting program for users.
xioami decreased sensitivity.

Really don't know mate. Never had any touch issues out of the box with the stock firmware.
Nor had any touch issues on my OnePlus 7 Pro. Nor on my GF's Note 9. Nor on her Note 10 Plus. Nor on my mother's S7 Edge.
I don't know. Maybe you have huge hands?
Ps.: I get it that YOU have a problem. All I am trying to say is ... the phone itself works perfectly. Without any touch issues. It's either you, or your device.

try touching the edges lightly and gently.
then tap the middle keys lightly.

Hi, I don't know about the Mi Note 10 yet, but I definitely had a similar issue with the Galaxy S7 back in the day. It used to drive me crazy, because it happened while holding it with one hand in the car, and typing the number "1" for example was often hit or miss (I am right handed, normal hands). It's part of why I don't like curved screens and why I never bought another Samsung phone (I know Samsung mostly fixed the issue through updates).
I just ordered the Mi Note 10 despite of the curved screen, because of the camera. I didn't want to buy a phone from Hauwei and didn't want to wait for Samsung's S20, and the Mi Note 10 is at a killer price
Anyway, I hope I don't run into the same curve issue (worried).

I have no such issues.... The curve screen is more like edge.
And I am using Gboard as my keyboard and all the keys are working fine.
there is problem. make a very delicate soft touch.
Just touch the edge. tap very slowly.
also tap the middle of the screen.
there is a serious difference.

I am noticing a sensitivity issue with "p"/"0" on the upper right.
It doesn't register a light touch, it needs to be pressed deliberately and slower.
It's part of the reason I don't love curved edges.

Same. Oh well, maybe SOME phones don't work that well?
Honestly I'd prefer NO curve, but I can't find an issue with it.
I hate MIUI way more that I can't make it allow my bloody notifications in DND. It's like the worst nightmare ever.
I have mi & galaxy s9+, both phone have same issue.
Samsung have a official app to fix this issue, but Mi not.
At first I try use 3rd App the disable edge touch,, but not useful like Samsung.
Now I just use a new case. The case just let my plam not possible touch on curve edge.
I recorded a sample video. We can add some programs with Turbo Game setting. We increase sensitivity. But it is not enough. We cannot select every program. Even if it is selected, it is not enough. The problem continues on the edges.
It seems to prove that this problem is a software problem.
There should be a "disable screen sensitivity limitation" button in settings

does not want the edges to be very sensitive xiaomi. And they took a stupid measure with the software.
xda developers can solve this problem.
Then xioami takes precautions.
The problems at the lower corners are caused by the gesture control. Turn off the gesture control and use the conventional buttons, then the problem is solved.
This is also the reason why some have the problem and some don't. Not everyone uses the gesture control.
i have also noticed a reduced sensitivity with the gesture control. As soon as you switch to the buttons everything is fine with the touch screen test.
I use the buttons.
There is problem. Use as you wish There is a problem with the edges and bottom corners.
The only method: an update.
Install the program I sent. try it too.
the center and edges of the screen and the bottom corners are different.
This problem bothers me on the keyboard.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.rallwell.siriuth.touchscreentest&hl=tr
I can reproduce the interrupted line test.
In the test i can place white dots on every part of the edge, but it gets only interrupted when drawing a line.
But it doesn't bother me when keyboard typing.
Keyboard works well even in the edges.
Do you use swipe typing, i'm not?
I'm using Fullscreen Gestures and never noticed any problems with edge sensitivity.
My device is Global Firmware (11.0.7), not Global EEA.

Hi, guys, have you noticed that if the right side of the sliding mechanism is slightly nudged, the display lights up? Here is a video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNQ1nK3cutY
When answering, please share what phone and keyboard layout do you have.
Same problem with me.. (link)
Personally, I don't like the capacitive buttons.. and I'm becoming increasingly annoyed with the search button!
Also, I don't know if anyone else has this problem..
If my keyboard is slightly moved/nudged, it wakes the phone up. See video..

Well, that's not a big problem, even if the phone is waked up, it's still locked and goes to sleep again in 3-4 seconds.
This is weird!
Mine's display light up after I slide it past the bottom keyboard row, it can stay locked while I can clearly see the spacebar!
How can the same device act differently like that? mine is a 7 Pro (not an Arrive), and I can see from your video that yours is a 7 Pro too.

If I push the sliding mechanism evenly, with two fingers, mine also lights up after the first row of the keyboard, just like yours. But try to push only the right side...
The screen is triggered based on a magnet I believe. So the amount that the screen must be moved to trigger the screen to come on isn't a precise thing.
Doesn't happen on my Arrive.
Hey, folks, do your phones light up when you divide the two halves?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yc6zNYu-La8
Please write what phone do you have - HTC Arrive, HTC 7 Pro, QWERTY or QWERTZ kejboard.
Mine doesn't light up if I nudge the right or left side. It also does not light up If split it in half like the above video.
It only lights up when I slide it over the first row of keys.

This is correct.
I don't have the manual for that phone. (it's similar to the mechanism shown for the TyTn however www.mikechannon.net or see here to get the general idea http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2677085&postcount=3 ) HTC tightened their document security and it's almost impossible to get Service Manuals current devices these days.
However, as tiny17 commented, in HTC phones, the sliding keyboard activates "wake-up" by means of a small magnet which is glued onto the inside of the casing. As this moves past the magnet operated switch it wakes up the phone. You will see similar behaviour if you bring a magnet near certain parts of the case and in fact this is a way to locate where the magnet switch is located.
Also, using phone cases that have magnet clasps on them can also operate the switch and wake up the phone when sliding it in and out of the case/pouch.
So technically this is not a fault, but it can be annoying.

Compared to the S6, the screen seems to be less sensitive. While playing games that require high accuracy, or typing, scrolling etc., it feels like I have to push slightly harder or redo a trace that wasn't registering my finger/thumb movement. Same apps, same keyboard, same games installed as my S6, but the sensitivity feels different.
Has anyone else noticed a difference in screen sensitivity?

On my note 5 MM update screen seems much less sensitive than on LP

lmfao. one thread says it's way too sensitive. one thread says not sensitive. I give up on these forums hahaha
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 4
I read somewhere that the previous samsung devices even without the s-pen has the sensitivity to recognise pen tips/pencils allowing the user to draw. Anyone tested this on the s7e?
I have the regular S7 and I agree, the screen is less sensitive. I can tell because I also have the S6 for comparison right now. The biggest problem is that with a screen protector, or while wearing gloves, the top/bottom and side edges become much less sensitive to touch and don't register them. Try accessing the TSP grid on your phone dialer by typing in "*#7353#" and use a glove with it on the edges. I also tried gloves with three different S7/S7 edge models at Best Buy and they all lack sensitivity. It definitely needs a software change. The screen touches don't register. Please increase the sensitivity SAMSUNG!
If anything it's much more sensitive
the issue is that the screen seems to detect quick swipes as touches, and itll open an app or something if you're swiping around/over it but you do a short burst swipe. if you do a normal long swipe, itll be fine. seems like the digitizer is setup weird on these. odd calibration maybe?
Jayochs, i know what you mean. Its especially apparent when scrolling wjth thumb. It does this flick when thumb leaves the screen.. annoying.. samsung has never been good with screen touch calibration.
mine's the other way around - way too sensitive to the touch and also the capacitive keys get triggered way too easily.. Whenever I'm scrolling through pages, the back key always accidentally gets triggered for no apparent reason.
when using glass screen protectors the sensitivity is severely reduced u kinda need to push harder on the screen to actually make it register.
Does anyone experience it difficult to type fast, like some words are omitted when you type fast or their order is interchanged, say for example, the word wakanda, when you try to type fast it becomes something like wkaanda sometimes. Is it because of the tempered glass or me not being accustomed to the device yet? Those without tempered glass, how's your experience?
I kinda had the same feeling. I thought it was just for me.
had same issue with custom ROMs too.
dont know if it's a real issue or my illusion.

Yeah, I noticed something was off but then I ignored it thinking I might not be used to the device yet. Do you also sometimes feel that the device scrolls in a direction opposite to input, like when scrolling through xda, when you swipe your finger/thumb up lightly to scroll down, the device sometimes scrolls upwards a little instead and vice versa? Also, have you applied a tempered screen protector?

Yeah, after a few seconds into typing, it starts missing out some letters. I too use gboard.
I recommend to go to settings and send feedback (last option at the bottom) about this. Hopefully, they will fix with the next update.
It is due to the touch problem, especially on edge of the screen. Refer to 'Touch latency' thread.
In my case, I have annoying scroll problem plus edge area of screen is not responsive thus typing Q and P is difficult.
At first I thought it was happening with me only because I moved from a 5.5" screen to a 6.3" screen and maybe my muscle memory is accustomed to type on my previous device from past 2 years so it would take me a week to get used to a new device. But I was wrong. These are touch latency issues happening with many users. I hope this gets fixed by an update.
Go to Settings > Sound & Vibration > Vibrate On Tap > Light
This should solve the latency issue or at least make it a lot better. This problem is occurring due to how the haptic feedback is synchronized with the touchscreen. If vibration is too strong it won't be able to stop and start in real time with each and every key you press thus causing a delay. The stronger the vibration and the faster you type, the longer it will take for it to finish reacting to each key press.

I didn't use vibrate on tap in my previous devices nor do I use it in this one but I still face the issue. The original post written by me was based on my experience of using the device without any sort of vibrations enabled and comparing it to my previous devices which also had vibration disabled.
I was having a tough time typing fast on the phone and made a post about it earlier. Trying to look for the issue, I came across these

Surprisingly, the behaviour is quite similar to these threads here. I request xda users with a redmi note 7/ 7 pro to carry out this small test of trying to type the words 'qu' and 'scope' fast (if possible, try to run this test a few times with space after each qu and scope, say 10 times, so that we can be sure that the results are consistent and do remember to type the same word 10 times consecutively and then move on to the other word and type it ten times consecutively) and report how many times it turns out as uq and scoep on doing so.
Please mention if you tried this test with:
a screen protector installed (also mention the type of screen protector, i.e. tempered glass or plastic) or without one
your device variant (indian or chinese) and
if possible your display manufacturer which should appear after typing *#*#6484#*#* in dialer and going to software information> lcm information
If you have any other devices, try this on them as well and report how it goes, so that we can have some reference points.

So far, atleast 3 confirmed cases including mine.
Display: nt26672a video mode dsi shenchao panel.
Screen protector: none.
Device and rom: Chinese
I used Poco F1 which does not have any sort of touch problems. Always wondered that the fuss was about then this N7P.
There is certainly a touch delay which is worse if you use a keyboard with vibration: the mismatch between actual touch and vibration makes it feel like you are using a juice-spilled keyboard. I overcame this issue by greatly reducing strength of vibration and typing a bit slowly.
What still get me is its touch scroll behavior. Short fling, especially bottom to up, does not move screen in a smooth way. Rather, it scrolls a bit then abrupt break. Worse is when you are using Instagram. When you swipe left or right to see the next picture, it will show about 1/4 of it then jump back to previous one. Very annoying. Overall, it feels like I am using a phone with outdated CPU.
With Poco F1, this sort of touch problems were addressed heavily which lead Xiaomi to come up with fixes. I do not expect that will be the case with N7P. I am hoping that changing touch friction and scroll fling values in buildprop would at least make it less annoying. I may try that once I get unlocked.
I do not have the same issue, I use SwiftKey as my keyboard though if that makes any difference.
Have the RN7 Pro Chinese version with no screen protector.
I can't get the screen info, when I copy / paste the code and dial it does not complete?
That being said I have felt as if SwiftKey is a little laggy on my previous phone and it's better on the RN7 Pro - although not as smooth as on my Mi 5 I use to have.

I don't use vibrate on keypress but I still face the issue.
For Instagram, I just downloaded it to check that out and I too experience that sometimes it does not move to the next image and even moves backwards/to the previous image instead. One more thing I noticed was, on Instagram, when you go to explore and are checking posts which have 'more' (large amount of text and hence the option to read 'more') in their descriptions, it often jumps to the next post instead of allowing you to read more of what is written in the description, almost feels like the touch accuracy is off or might be just an Instagram thing.
Scrolling is also a bit inconsistent, on short flings, it sometimes moves downwards and then upwards a bit and at times it scrolls in the opposite direction (but that is rare).

Quite similar experience to mine except mine has a tendency to miss a's instead of e's.
Indian variant here, with shenchao panel, touch latency issues are there typing scope faster makes it scoep and also 4-5 times out of 10 times typing qt makes it tq
I have installed screen protector though
Issues are similar to my friends pocofone
Just picked up an S22U, coming from a Note 10+. I've noticed I have to press significantly harder for the S-pen to register on the S22U than on the Note 10+ and Tab S7+. Drawing, scrolling, button presses, pretty much everywhere. S-Pen presses virtually never register when the pen is at an angle.
No case, no screen protector. I've disabled accidental touch protection and turned on the increased touch sensitivity. The hover function appears to work, I just have to press rather hard to press buttons/scroll/write in comparison to these older devices.
I've tried all 3 S-pens and can confirm they are not the issue. Also did the built-in S-pen reset. Verizon has disabled the #0# diagnostics tool, so I can't check anything there unfortunately. Factory reset is the only thing left that I can think of before requesting an exchange.
There doesn't seem to be much discussion here, but in one thread, a user mentioned that he can lightly drag his S-pen across the screen applying as little pressure as possible and the phone will recognize the input and scroll, draw, etc. On my S22U, that's definitely not the case. Much closer on the other two devices.
Anyone else who has used older devices as well as the S22U able to comment on sensitivity/pressure/input recognition? Cheers

I've had every Note since the Note 8, and my S22U SPen is just as sensitive as any prior Note devices. May be a hardware issue.

I'm not experiencing any of the issues you described. It's possible that you have a defective digitizer. Did you get it new or used?
Boot into recovery mode and run the diagnostics. You can also run diagnostics via the Samsung Members app.

Thank you, I'll give this a try. It's a new device. It works okay, I may not have noticed if it were my first note. But compared to the other two devices, it takes substantial pressure to register anything.

No problem. I've owned Note phones and tablets previously. The Note 2, 8, and 10+; as well as the Tab S7 and Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. The S22 Ultra's S Pen performance is the best of the bunch.
Posting an update in case it can be useful to someone in the future, as I only saw one other post anywhere discussing this subject. Running diagnostics showed that my S-pen and touch were normal. On top of the S-pen issue, several days into using the phone, all video recording became laggy. Playback of said videos had noticable stuttering. Tried several camera apps as well as resolutions, no difference.
I received a replacement from Verizon and all is well now. The S-pen sensitivity is no longer an issue and video recording is normal. I feel this replacement is a bit faster/snappier as well, something I didn't realize was an issue before as even the replaced device was faster than my old Note 10+.
As a side note, I switched from T-Mobile to Verizon for a trade-in deal. I am very disappointed in my billing ($20 more monthly than quoted) and the 5G speeds at my home and workplace (both in the middle of a city with great coverage) are much slower than the 4G T-Mobile Note 10+. The YouTube throttling is a real thing, though research tells me that running a VPN will address this. I test at 40mbps but can't stream 1080p, even at 2am on a weekday when there should be no congestion. I'm nowhere near my data limit. If anyone else is considering switching from T-Mobile to Verizon, I would urge you to ask friends/colleagues in your city for their experience.
