Hey guys,
General custom Rom question. Each time I install any custom, following the directions 100% it will never install properly. No matter what when I reboot back into TWRP it doesn't mount data.
Here's some instructions for an example from the latest one I tried Havok.
What am I doing wrong?
How to install
+ if you are coming from OOS then you will need to wipe your data as well as internal storage due to encrypted data but if you had any custom ROM before then just wipe data. No need to wipe internal storage.
for updating
1: Flash ROM
2: Flash TWRP installer
3: reboot again to recovery to boot from second slot.
4: Flash Gapps
5: Flash magisk
6: wipe dalvik cache and reboot to system.
That's all.
use tool all in one to decrypt internal storage

Is it possible to downgrade from cm13 to lollipop or cm 12.
You have a backup of your important data and a custom recovery installed, right?
0.- Download CM rom zip and GAPPS zip, and place them in your internal storage.
1.- Go to your custom recovery. Wipe Dalvik, Cache, Data and System Partitions (I use TWRP recovery on my devices)
2.- Flash the rom file
3.- Flash the gapps zip file.
4.- Reboot
If you want to go back to stock ROM, in the step 0 just download the zip for your device from this post and don't do the step 3 (these zips have gapps already installed).
I install ResurrectionRemix M v5.7.2 and gapps 6.0 to my phone through TWRP. it was good. But later i decided to install AospExtended-v3.1 . I took the zip file into my USB Removable disk as my phone didn't have any external storage so that i could install it with the help of OTG cable!
I install AospExtended-v3.1 and gapps 7.1 successfully from TWRP recovery . when it is 'done' i tapped on 'Reboot to system'. I don't know why, my phone goes into bootloop though i installed various ROMS in this process but i wasn't face this problem before!
Anyway then i wiped all data and decided to go back to my previous ROM. I Installed ResurrectionRemix M v5.7.2 through TWRP. it was installed successfully and i thought now that looping problem will resolve, but after successful completion of installing ResurrectionRemix M v5.7.2 when i reboot to system there still the bootloop problem!
Then i though i should go back to my STOCK ROM. I download MIUI 6.7.5_5.0_global fastboot ROM and using miflash tool with proper ADB drivers installed i flash my phone. It was again completed successfully, then i thought this time the bootloop problem will resolve! But no! My phone still stuck into bootloop.
whatever installing process(TWRP/Fastboot) i followed, i am unable to solve this Strange bootloop issue! What should I do?
i am also facing this problem, wht i do i cant understand, pls anyone hlp me to take out from this situation
Try these.
1. Boot into twrp
2. Wipe System, Data, dalvik, cache ( Don't wipe system storage )
3. Connect USB disk
4. Copy desired ROM into internal storage using the file manager given in TWRP.
5. Flash ROM locating the zip in internal storage.
6. Wipe Cache/Dalvik.
Your phone should now boot successfully.

So when we upgrade the system, it erases TWRP.
From the experts out there, I just want to try to get this clear on what we need to do to keep TWRP. This is how I understand the process.
1) Have a copy of the twrp.zip in the phone internal storage.
2) Download the full stock system upgrade zip file (not partial).
3) Boot into TWRP, and use TWRP to flash the system upgrade, and don't reboot.
4) Flash TWRP from phone internal storage to put it back. Then I'm good to reboot.
Look correct?

Hello Guys,
After flashing few pie roms and few GSI I faced really big trouble. When we flash rom we must install erecovery and factory format data. After doing this we loose everything on our internal memory. And this is very headaches. :silly:
So I search many times " How to flash pie roms without wiping internal storage" Finally I figure out a method. Some times you know about this, Some times you don't know about this. Pls let me guide.
• I do not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards
We call this "Universal DM-Verity, ForceEncrypt, Disk Quota Disablers"
Link here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/universal-dm-verity-forceencrypt-t3817389/amp/
Introduction....
• If you're currently encrypted: BACKUP YOUR INTERNAL STORAGE TO YOUR PC.
1- Download zip file
2- Reboot to recovery, Then format data.
4- Reboot back into recovery
5- After doing that or if you're not encrypt anymore
6- Make a backup using TWRP ( Ramdisk,Vendor)
7- Wipe required partitions(If you want)
8- Flash your rom, custom kernel (if applicable), then this zip, the magisk/supersu/other root, then Gapps
9- Most important part after flashing rom, You must factory reset using twrp. (TWRP -> Wipe -> slide Left to Right)
• This zip should be flashed after anything that modifies your boot img (like a custom kernel) but before magisk/supersu since this zip creates the files that tells magisk/supersu to not encrypt.
Congratulations now you don't need bootloader for flash roms... Feel Free

Help me with this situation
Why can not flash?
Do you Reverted partition to stock partitioning?
Is your recovery an up to date recovery like TWRP 3.2.x,3.5.1, OrangeFox ,SHRP?

First thing is few lineage OS not work on Vendor partition. To over come this use below steps:
Note: Use orange fox recovery for smooth flow
1. Run revert vendor practitioner for exynos 7870.
2. Then reboot to recovery.
3. Goto format option perform format ( This will erase your internal storage data before action this step take a backup)
4. Then navigate to wipe option then wipe Dalivk cache, cache, system, data, internal storage
5. Then install lineage os zip. reboot and enjoy
If you want to install any treble rom in feature better use Universal script. This script make 4096MB system partition, 512MB vendor partition & 57 cache partition
