I didn't understand your problem. Did you do the steps correctly? you need to wipe "Cache, System and Data" partitions in TWRP.
Then you flash the rom. You do not need to install gapps because they are already in the rom. If you do this the device will not boot.
Simple steps:
Wipe, flash the rom and (optional) flash Magisk 19.04 (for me this is the best version but you can also get the latest one)

Don't you have shame ? I told everyone not to release any rom until I release the LineageOS. Trees are still heavily W.I.P.

Sorry for my English, but, it is the best in my view, it is the most stable, best optimized, good performance ñ in the battery and I could even say that the best rom even now in the category of "custom rom", but not everything is perfect since there are some things that in my view and the things that I often do not go, for example: there are applications that do not appear in the play store since I think they are not compatible with the model or something, Another would be that sometimes it fails when you use a magisk module. To finish just a constructive would be good that adds a section as well as the other ROMS has to change or modify some things of the rom something like that but the rest out of the things that do not work for me the rest is going perfect, 100% recommended.

can I flash this rom on Oreo ? or do I need One UI ?

You can try but you need a kernel in order to boot. If doesn't boot you can try the new update when I released it (tomorrow probably will be ready)

About AOKP:
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
Features:
----> All AOKP features
----> All lineageos features
and many more....

It takes a little more time in the first boot. So wait a little more, but after that booted fast like aicp or crdroid.

And remember to don't delete the 'Fox' folder inside your internal storage, otherwise you will be unable to use the Community Scripts feature.
In the next update I will push those files inside the recovery image and it will be again a flashable image file and not a flashable zip.

Don't be dumb he is asking that will it wipe any data if he installs it. Why would data will be wiped if you install a custom recovery? Only data erases when unlocking bootloader.

I tried to push them inside the recovery image file but it seems that it is not possible on nougat kernel. All the recoveries of karate are based on nougat kernel so I can't get any Oreo kernel source. Waiting for any Oreo kernel based recovery for our karate. If we get it, many more awesome recoveries are available to port to our device.

Hey bro vendor partition also has other functions not only treble. Magisk on Oreo needs vendor, Oreo roms also need vendor and gapps also installs some other features on a vendor supported recovery and blabla.

If you're having issues and want to submit a report (Logcat) please make sure you are reporting from the stock kernel, not a modified kernel. Modified kernels can break or fix, even improve things. It depends. I can't get a full clue of the issue when you're not running the original kernel.

I know, but I want to know something else.
On other pie ROMs, like P3R, it will not search for other networks when you turn off "select network automatically". In this case it will still select the network automatically.
Does this ROM also have this bug?

How about battery life??
Every pie rom I've tested drain battery really fast as compared to the stock oreo with Francokernel (5 to 6 hour screen on time with LTE)
Does it also have VoLTE and hardware encryption issue?

@sirhc What exactly is the right procedure of flashing the ROM, if coming from another custom Pie ROM? Sure I have to wipe data, dalvik and cache, but should I wipe system as well? Do I need to flash boot/kernel and vendor separately? By the size of the zip I figure there are no gapps included, so is there a problem with the initial setup, and which gapps package would you recommend? Thank you!

I came from Oreo (November)
I wipe chache, dalvik cache, system and data.
I install rom, gapps (mini or pico)
flsh Magisk,
wipe cache/dalvik,
and less reboot.
*IF U have problem with the initial setup: u can try: wipe all, install rom, reboot, and later install gapps,
Does this ROM also have the volte and hardware encryption bugs like all the other pie ROMs for our device?

1. Try to reflash only the rom. Also delete the Android folder in internal storage (sometimes can cause bootloops idk why). I have the FN variant and the rom is working just fine.
2. Check if you are using the latest magisk
3. Check if you are using the arm gapps for Android 9 (use pico or aroma to choice what you want from gapps)

You can do a dirty flash (flash the rom above the previous version) and then install again gapps/magisk but this is not recommended. Try and see
