How to open attached *.php files?

I'm able to open every attached 'download.php' file on this forum, but a few seems to be empty to my variO, while other members don't have that problem. I myself use pRAR 3.60. Are there other tools/programs to open them or are there diffferent types of *.php files which are created by forummembers?
If I understood correctly you are talking about downloading stuff from this forum directly to your device?
The *.php extension in this case is a bug. Any file may it be exe or zip or doc downloaded from a thread here by PIE will wind up as php on your device.
The only way I know around this is to use Total Commander (or similar) to change the extension to what it suppose to be (doc, exe, zip) and then try opening the file.
Opening the *.php files is not the problem, but they seems to be empty, no archived included. Like the attached one. I renamed it as rar but still no joy.
Could you try to see if this one is empty?
And are there other NLD variO users experience the same problem, with my config (see signed info)?
I think I solved you problem.
Quick look with a hex editor reviles that his is not a rar file.
It's a cab. Also desktop WinRAR has no problem opening it or extracting files.
If you rename it with cab extension then run it by clicking on it in file explorer you get the desired effect.
I am not familiar with pRAR but it may be limited to rar and zip file formats.
That's it..!!
I wished I asked this months before...
Thanx alot

TFM2DC Themes???

I have Conflippers 10-21 ROM on my alltell touch.. So far I have not had to many issues and the problems I have had, I found the answers pretty easy either here or over @ ppcgeeks.. But these themes are killing me.. I'm sure it is something simple I am just not seeing but here I am anyway..
I have found and read through the theme threads, found some I like and downloaded the zip files. I unzip them to my pc no problem.. Here is where the problems start.. about half the time when I try to move them to my storage card through activesync I get a alert telling me it cannot convert a file.
now if it does copy over ok, I can go through the md2c and see the folder on my storage card but if I try to add it to my themes folder I get a error that says I am missing the HTChomesettings.xlm(I think) file and it will not add it?
what am I missing here.. since this does not seem to be a common issue I know it's something simple... but it is just escaping me...
P.S.. sorry for the poor grammar. I am doing this at work from my phone...
Thanks for the help.
U're absolutely missing .xml file (HTCHomeSetting). Try to use another xml file, m2dc should be working after u put .xml file on windows folder
Is there just one file for all themes or is this a file that should be included with every theme I download??
the reason I ask is a couple of the themes I have tried work just fine.. most though give me the error though..
Some of the themes has no .xml file. Just look at the clock style in the home tab. If it's similar with another themes that u ever used succesfully, simply put the .xml file in windows folder. Good luck
What file are you copying to your device? The file you copy should be some how compressed and contain the xml in the root folder.
Some of the themes I have downloaded seem to be packed into a folder and some of when you unzip it are all the file individual.... (does that make since?)
Either way I put them on my storage card and then point M2DC at the storage card a couple of them seem to work fine and some of them give me the error

Lost .dll file association, need help urgently please!

I was trying to copy shellresapps.192.dll file in the windows folder to my memory card so i can use the program 'Resource Hacker' to take a look at it, because it contains the wait cursor animation and i want to try edit it. However, it seems all the system files in the windows folder can't be copied or moved or renamed AT ALL. I checked the properties and unticked the read only option as well as other option, but whenever i press ok it doesn't apply the setting, so then i clicked the 'Associate' tab and unregister any file association with the shellresapps.192.dll file and hoping that i'll be able to rename or copy the file this time, but it doesn't do anything. And since i was careless, i didn't check the file path or the file of what the file association with the .dll file is, so now it seems all the .dll files are not registered with any program that it should be.....
i'm using EnergyROM and i did this in Total Commander. Can someone please kindly look at the file association for the shellresapps.192.dll file for me?? Just go to properties and choose the "Associate" tab.
And can someone also tell me how to copy or rename the system files??
Ok, first off the .dll you wanted to copy out is not a file, it's a module. You can't copy them out of the rom to your sd card with total commander. You can do this with rom files, but not rom modules (I'll let you look up the difference). There is an app called 'romextractor.exe' that allows you to copy modules out. You might try doing it that way.
Anyway, the rest of your post gave me a headache, so I only barely read it. I kind of doubt you deleted the association for dll's (I don't even see an association on TC), but here's the reg key you may need. Check first to see if it was messed up.
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.dll]
"Content Type"="application/x-msdownload"
@="dllfile"
Cut and paste into a .txt file, name it and change the extension to .reg and import it if you need to.
i think i got it sorted by associating the .dll files with shell32.exe or something like that. You can check the association of a file by using Total Commander, right click on any file u want to check and go to properties. There you will see 2 tabs at the top, and one of them is Association, there you can choose to associate with anything as well as clicking on the X button to delete the association.

Yeah, I know, I'm just saying that I don't have an association for .dll's. You don't really need one with a .dll, because it's not a file that you open up for anything. You can change the icon to something else, though. I think you just need the registry key I posted, but I doubt that you changed it.

Yes, its happened on past phones also..... Find a different file.
Try astro file manager and under its settings select allow unknown browser downloads or something similar.
Yeah, that happened to me too... you have to use a different web browser other than the default one

Where is the .zip file I downloaded?

Hello, I have downloaded a zip file through IE. Where I can find it ?
Thank you
There isnt a specific place... each app has its own isolated storage where it keeps their files.
You should be able to open that ZIP file from the browser and it will show you the files within... if they are recognised file types by WP7, it will let you run them.
But that's it, you have no file manager you can goto and fetch that saved file.
PS: well, you have... but I'm unsure if TouchXplorer is still working or not.
Thanks for this, but how can i delete it if I can't find it? I use the TouchXplorer...
I am concerning about the phone memory.
Generally, files downloaded through IE are stored in temporary memory and will be erased after a certain amount of time.
I ran into the same problem today. luckily i hit the windows button so all I have to do is hit the back button to reach the zip file again. Kind of frustrating when you dont have a file explorer and no other way to reach the file you just downloaded
