I have had my nexus 5 for 7 months without a single issue. I'm running a Sabermod Slimkatbuild and have been for a month with Uber kernel and just today had a issue with screen stuttering. I have had no issues to date. I was flying when this all started so phone was in airplane mode I was listening to music with Play Music from my menova usb otg and typing in quick office. My keyboard and navigation bar started stuttering in and out. I stopped all apps and rebooted and it continues in landscape and portrait on every screen from the boot animation to the app drawer. The only screen it doesn't appear on is the google initial splash screen. I have wiped cache and dalvik and restored a nandroid. Issue persists. The best way i can describe the issue is it appears that my screen size keeps changing and navigation bar rises up from the bottom of the screen overlapping the first one it also effects the widgets keyboard and pattern unlock. I am in the process of downloading the factory images to wipe the device and start fresh but am still trying to figure out what caused this.
Ok after flashing factory images the stutter still appears. It looks like it is the hardware issue I was afraid of and will be starting RMA.
After watching a few YouTube videos on the Galaxy S8 I got a notification that my Note 4 had a software update. The conspiracy theorist in me genuinely tried to stop me updating in case this was the update that will bring me a whole load of annoyances in order to force me to update my phone, but I went ahead anyway and low and behold I've had major issues with my phone ever since.
Main issues are random crashes, slow response times (like a minute or so) and random reboots. Seems to happen mostly when I wake the phone up and the longer the phone has been in sleep, the worse the issues are.
I have done three factory resets, (even they were buggy and at times unresponsive, such as it not rebooting when it was supposed to) but the issue still persists. I have removed the SD Card (advice from another website) but it didn't help.
Current version of the update shows as being N910FXXS1DQC8 / N910FBTU1DPL1 / N910FXXS1DQA1
Am I right in thinking the only way to roll back the update is to root It and install a previous update? Would rather not do that and hope someone has some advice please.....
Any one else seing a major performance drop after the update? Almost every app now loads 3 times as slow if it doesnt crash out and have to force close. Youtube videos get verry laggy and hang sometimes for 10 to 20 seconds before the app plays catchup and throws all frames in from time it got stuck to current play time in the video. Also screen off gps is nonexistent. I use geofencing in smartthings and it worked flawlessly before. Also smartthings app notifications will not show up until the screen is on. Ive set it to ignore data and battery with no luck. I have wiped the phone in fastboot and reapplied the update in uppercut. Still the same issues. Surely I'm not the only one. Maybe I'm the only one still hanging in to this phone these days. ?
Nope, quite the opposite, the phone feels noticeably faster and smoother after the update.
edit: Nvm, I'm not on T-Mobile.
I've been facing this issue when I launch any games my screen goes black and I've to go back to home get the game from recent otherwise it wont work any other way will do nothing but black screen.
I get that too sometimes while watching twitch. Rolling back to Android 9 fixed everything for me.
Be sure your animations are set to at least 0.5...should fix it.
Hello, does anyone experience lag issues with the MIUI 12 update? Specifically MIUI 12.0.2 Global Stable (QJKEUXM).
There are really noticeable frame drops on the system UI itself, the pulling down of Control Center/Notifications panel is laggy. Opening the Poco launcher apps drawer is like 5-10 fps. Scrolling is really not smooth. Frame drops are also present in MLBB.
I haven't encountered such issues. Have you tried performing a factory reset?
Fixed
The lag issue was gone after I restarted the phone. I haven't performed any factory reset or debloat it.
Hi. For me ui, net browsing and gaming runs perfectly. But i have problem with suttering/frameskips in 60fps videos - on youtube, vlc player, even in camera app viewer. Sometimes its ok and the movies play perfectly smooth, but after some time the problem come back. Looks like software bug, maybe the problem is with cpu/gpu driver that accelerate decoding.
I can confirm lagging issue on some videos. Looks like an update to MIUI 12 caused that.
I have a problem with all videos played through Canal + Europe application even in 480p and 1080p. It doesn't matter.
Sometimes it is happening in HBO go app as well so it is not application issue.
Looks like some video drivers, codecs are missing for CPU ?
Confirmed
I can confirm this problem on my GFs poco f2 pro. After some time it just started lagging while pulling down the notifications menu. Restarting solves the problem temporarily but it occurs again after some time.
I've had no issues, however I did do a factory reset after the major update.

Miui 12 definitely lags more than miui 11 but the battery life is pretty good. For me the things that bother me are full screen gesture stutters and YouTube portrait to landscape rotation stutter which doesn't happen all the time only every once in a while. If you reboot your phone and try swiping down notifications at the start you will also notice stutter but this goes away after a few seconds. It may come back again the longer you use it without rebooting and could need a reboot again.
Miui 12 android 11 fixes some of these stutters but the battery life wasn't as good as Android 10 when I tested it and there are a few incompatible apps for now like 3rd party launchers and gestures. One of the ways to fix miui system gesture and launcher lag is to actually use 3rd party apps. I'm hoping updates improve battery life but keep the smooth performance. Either that or wait for custom roms because snapdragon 865 should not be thls sluggish and I think many know it's because of miui

Me too
That "major update" is from Android 10 to 11? In that case, surely it is better to make a factory reset.
No issues so far.... Still as fast as lightning....

I was having same problems, especially with gestures on, with MIUI12 update on Redmi note 8t (willow). 12.0.1.0 didn't resolve anything, but the newest (12.0.2.0 RU) update made recents list / task view lag disappear. What was left is the most prominent lag, the one when swiping up to enter recents from the home screen. Switching to an alternative launcher (Nova Launcher) resolved that, though the entire sequence of crossfading from home screen to recents is unable to render, which i don't mind, as long as it runs smooth.
Now, i've done some changes in developer options, namely disabling logging and system tracing. Im not 100% sure, but it seems that increasing system tracing buffer to the maximum also made some change, but nothing i could do would make the home screen to recents lag disappear.
