Android 10 was supposed to be available December 18, maybe LG didn't want a non-Android One phone like Samsung's S10 beating them to the punch. Available today, Dec. 16 Update is 741.9 MB.
In Canada, on Bell Mobility. Other carriers should also have it.

I currently own a OnePlus 6 and I have had android 10 almost a month. It's OK so far nothing crazy ?. I like the dark mode feature but I had an application that had already done that so it's just a few tweaks here and there not much noticeable changes to my daily use. It's something new. I suppose that I'll be able to see more changes as I use my device. I do like the new privileges feature that allows you to cut the apps system access if you are not using the application. Works on most installed applications not to good with system apps, unless of course you are rooted with majisk . Yet I want to root but I have so much customization as is that I don't want to mess with this bad ass device. It really packs a ? punch as is! Maybe if I ever get the Oneplus7 pro I can give the 6 root privileges. Until then I'll Enjoy Android 10 on my android device. Apple can play with iTunes as I turn my phone into a laptop!
Android 10
Got my update installed. Anyone know how to add Dark Mode toggle in the Quick Settings? It might be Pixel only.
After install android 10 some intresting thing with charging.
On 9 when plug charger phone says "charging" and after 1-2sec phone change to "fast charging".
Now on 10 phone display only "charging", no "fast charge".
Is it Normal, who installed 10, you have the same thing?

Its rolling out for the Japanese model (Android One X5) as of this morning, same build and baseband, but with a 2 day newer kernel build and December security update instead of November as the Canadian version had.

Geographic location doesn't matter but you must have an MCC 440 SIM (any Japanese carrier, even expired is ok) installed to get OTA.

I want to open this thread about Nokia 7 Plus TA-1055 single sim (for those have this model variant like me), to discuss about it and about problems with custom boot/system/anything else flashing/installation, which works on another model variant (TA-1046 and TA-1062) instead.
Pie gsi gives "no SIM" bug on single sim variant of the the TA-1055
- Oreo GSI (I tried them personally) have a weird call bug. It's very impossible to call someone!!
- Custom kernel have some problems with TA-1055 model, instead of other variants
I'm running pixel experience gsi on my ta-1055. No Sim bug is fixed by popping the Sim out and back in. Super stable build. Way better battery life and so much faster. After every reboot/update you must pop the Sim out and back in and it works. I think it has to do with the fact that it's looking for sim2 first and can't find it because it doesn't exist.

in November Nokia7Plus have official 2 OTA branch, one in line 3.22* which is only with security patches and second line 3.39* which also have some apps updates...
then if for you sideload say "expected 00WW_3_22C (SP04" then you can try OTA 3.22* on instaled higher branch 3.39*...
now you can check what exact version you have installed (in Settings/System/AboutPhone is two version show, one in BuildNumber (me PieFeb is 00WW_3_39B_SP03) and one in AndroidVersion/BuildNumber (me show [email protected]@_3_39H)), and download right OTA files from 3.39YOURVERSION to 3.39NextVersion (and repeat until you finish on Februrary) here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-7-plus/development/ota-nokia-7-plus-ota-links-t3818774

Thank you very much for your help!!
*disclaimer: Thanks for the help, but unfortunately nothing worked in the end,
Interesting. But I don't understand how this whole thing could even work. I am on 3.22H january security level. For starters, I can't install anything older than January updates. Also, 3.39 february update is out of the question again, as it's for 3.39, doesn't work with 3.22.
And the phone won't let me sideload anything older, saying "expected version: ...3.22H".
That's it, can't install older updates, can't roll back to oreo either. End of the line. Volume up, power button, then power button and volume up, apply update, connect usb, type in this type in that, check logs, switch fastboot slots, still wrong timestamp. It's 2 AM, wasted 2 hours of my life with "tutorials", combing through endless list of unorganized update files. This is my first android phone, and this is exactly what I expected unfortunately. 3.22H it is then. Wish windows phone was still a thing, I miss my Lumia so much.
Is timely updates too much to ask? Do I have to debug and flash my phone myself? Getting real tired of BS like this

Well, actually no one is forcing you to do updates on your own, so stop blaming anybody except yourself for wasting time. I'm not satisfied with the quality of updates too, but complaining so hard on XDA has no effect since HMD is not reading even their our forum for this phone.
I'm atm stuck at January patch 3.22, but do I care? No. Why? Security updates are something that keeps me calm not getting since they are almost useless. And as people report 3.39 nor 3.51 don't have any significant fixes which would really drive me crazy not having (maybe except for nav and notification bar coloring fix). I already perceived that HMD is a pile of crap and I don't expect them to do anything.
Once its get really bad with the stock rom experience I'll unlock the bootloader and flash some custom rom (i.e Pixel Experience), as they are getting better over time.
Sure, I'm not blaming anyone but myself, in fact I thank everybody for their effort...
But still I, bought this phone to just use it, not waste time and effort making it up to date, as they've advertised, then what? They split update paths... Anyway, I gave it a shot, I failed, moving on
Tried to update through phone but no software available.

Make sense to me, because, according to the internet, the update has not yet been officially released, except in the US and Italy. When did you flash the kdz on your phone?
I've flashed it Sunday 17.nov, just before I posted in this forum using kdz and LGUP cmd.

Was there still no update to Android 9 at the time? If not, have you also looked at LG Bridge?
Before "force" updating with LGUP I've checked from phone and with LG bridge. But my phone is with IMEI from Hungary and the update was at that time.only for UK and Vodafone Italy.
Have you got Pie? What region are you/your phone?

Hello, what LGUP_common.dll have you been using? I have LMQ850EMW version, and DLL file provided here, at the bottom of the page, seems to be for 850EM, and is not working...
I've used common dll for LG V40( I supposed they are the latest )
!!- with the DLL provided there(I believe) and with LGUP 1.14 I also got some errors, but at least my phone was in factory update mode.
After that, without disconnecting the phone, I've installed 1.15 cmd and with dll for V40 it worked.
Thank you, worked flawlessly with V40 DLL file! And now, onto some testing of Android Pie...
*LG Bridge just offered Q850EMW20b_00_1106 - just appeared today, no info whatsoever. Copied KDZ from LG data folder, and flashing it the usual way right now. I wonder what the changes are...
No update in my LG Bridge for 20b, maybe because my phone was LMW and not EMW.
Can you provide the KDZ for 20b?
I'll upload it later today, when I get home from work. It will take a few hours on my crappy connection, though...
Here is Software info, sorry for the Cyrillic. :silly:
So android 9 is only available through LG Bridge, if I understand it correctly, however, my phone will not show me an update but I'll check again today about LG Bridge

Updated to 20b and for the first time with this phone I get benchmark results that are on the same level with other SD821 phones.
GPU was very limited with Android 8 and Pie 20a.
Now I get 160000 on Antutu, before around 110000 and 130000 maximum.
Only 135910 for me... Are we sure we have the same hardware? Perhaps I should give it another go...
Synthetic benchmarks aside, I'd say phone seems snappier now. Not too many changes, but some very pleasant surprises for me, especially for customization. Also, Bluetooth connectivity seems fixed now - now it takes only fraction of a second to connect to FM Transmitter in my car, and it works 100% of the time, and before it was hit&miss, I had to switch Bluetooth on/off quite often...
I dont play anything but I wanted to see how optimised is the hardware/software compared to other suppliers, and the only way was to check benchmark results.
The changes I noticed was:
-Youtube works in full screen now(notch is visible); before full screen was only near the notch;
- no more lagging through menus or apps;
- bluetooth connection more reliable .
About.bench scores: leave it alone for some hours after installing all the softwares and check again the scores. Maybe try to restart before benchmark and wait a few minutes before benching until everything settles down.
As for the scores, dont care about them unless the phone is crappy and laggy
So, I picked up a new unlocked 4a from BestBuy today. Before I set it up, I want to know if I should let the phone upgrade to Android 11 or try to keep it on 10? I know there have been some problems with 11. What's the opinion on this?

No issues with A11; Oct update smoothed out a few rough edges that weren't that jagged to begin with. Every update brings drama from the fringes. Gotta decide what camp you fall into.
Are there any Android Auto issues with the current version of 11? I think there were some at one point. BTW, I'm upgrading from an OG Pixel XL which is still going strong.

Of course you didn't. For every negative report there are vastly larger numbers of perfectly happy users. Widespread issues draw a huge response over multiple boards that easily stand out from run-of-the-mill grumbling.

Plus if you DO have problems after "use 10 for a bit, install 11" then you'll probably end up factory resetting and doing all your reinstallation, config again.
(I recall from back when i could be bothered fiddling with cyanogenmod that nobody was interested in bug reports if you did a "dirty flash" - you had to do a factory reset first as it cured all sorts of problems. i wonder if google doesn't test stuff properly and you end up in the same situation and that's why factory resetting fixes so many problems).
The devices came with 10/11 based basically of release date in your state/region you live. I for example live in Italy and I bought mine from Google directly. It arrived 8 Oct with already 11 installed and with Oct security patch. No issue here with 11, as the major part of the other people. Let's say that's generally is expected to have some problems when there is a major release come out, as with any other software piece, not only android, but generally a couple of update fix all. And it seems so with Google security patch too.
I've decided to go ahead and update to 11. I assume that the pending update is for the Oct release,, but the notification doesn't show which release it is, only that it's for v11. I don't really want to factory reset before the update. Does anybody think it's a good idea to do a reset first?

On Android 11 because phone shipped with it .
Should be no need to reset first.
No touch screen issues with Spigen protector.
Android auto works fine with the assistant lagging from time to time. However that could have been due to poor service....

It's best to factory reset AFTER updating.
Also I'm fairly sure by now every region would have the October security update.
I did the update this afternoon. The update was for the September release, but then there was a 2nd update which brought it up to October. The phone seems to be running well after the updates. It seems a little zippier than before.

Seems you are not alone.
T-Mobile is running way behind on Google Pixel security updates
Timely updates are supposed to be a prime Pixel perk

Yeah I am on December update very annoyed with Google nothing has changed

That sucks and should not be the Pixel experience. I would call T-Mobile and ask them why you are on an old update?
I have had decent updates so far but would be rather upset if I had a security update that was older than other OEM as that is part of the reason for getting a Pixel.
Sign up for Beta and you'll get QPR2 Beta 2. In my experience, it is much more fluid and responsive than previous builds. It fixes the scrolling issues and seems to have improved battery compared to the December update.

Can't you just adb sideload update.zip without having to even unlock the bootloader?
Full OTA Images for Nexus and Pixel Devices | Google Play services | Google for Developers

Google provides the means to update it yourself manually easily if you're not willing to wait for your turn. Their tools aren't even that complicated to use. I don't understand the big deal when you have manufacturers like Samsung that can take 3-6 months or longer to update between major version releases, Motorola that updates whenever they feel like it and only gives 2 years of major version updates, and OnePlus that's always behind like 2 months in security updates.

If she's complaining about it, 10 minutes in your hands beats you hearing about it for however long it takes for the update server to decide it's her turn.
Also mine show November as last play service update (I'm on the beta). Italian unlocked phone
Nov is the latest still for play system. There wasn't a Dec and Jan hasn't rolled out yet

There's also the indeterminate minutes, if/when something goes sideways...
This is being delayed for un-branded devices as well, such as mine purchased G-Store direct, based on some sort of carrier-block. I'm tempted to go dig through some dev-docs, to see if I can find this (could be an section not published for most, I suppose), but I figure to what end, mostly.
As you mention, easy side-load, but without knowing why this is being blocked for non-TMo (branded, so not gated by their release of their OTA) devices, it's a gamble of sorts...
I just posted in another thread that I think this is an odd situation. I use an MVNO Boost Mobile that uses T-Mobile and I got the update on the 5th. Maybe I got it before they pulled it? Why would they hold the update back to T-Mobile customers but not the MVNO?
I bought my Note 20 Ultra when I still was using my iPhone as my main phone (I'm on AT&T) I switched to the Note last year and never really noticed it has *never* updated at all.
Just bought a Galaxy Tab S8 and realized the Note has not updated since Aug 2021.
I have been trying to figure out how to update the phone for about 2 weeks now, there is no option to check for an update at all. There is however a "Software Update" under the Battery and Device care option in settings.. but pressing it does nothing.
I went to AT&T last week and they are completely stumped. The guy helping me has the exact same phone and he has the update option where it should be and is running the latest Android 12 that AT&T pushed out. He gave me a 1-800 number to call for "advanced" support but i know they will say wipe the phone as their first "fix" and i'd rather not do that yet.
He checked my account, all my settings on their end and in my phone and has no clue whats going on.
Has anyone come across this? any ideas how to force an update?
I did download the Smart switch app for my computer from Samsung to check for an update (read that it can check for updates) and nothing.
12 is worse than 11; many that tried 12 rolled back to 11. Leave it on 11 and be happy.
This N10+ is still running on Pie. It runs like a bat out of hell. Security is not an issue. Current load will be 3 yo in June, still fast, stable with minimal maintenance. Good as it gets.
Rule#1- if the firmware is fast, stable and fulfilling its mission... let it be!!!
