This is a way to update to ICS 4.0 with a majority of the program working on your tablet, this is not the manufactures firmware so I am not responsible if you brick your tablet. I do not take credit for any of these downloads, this is just a compilation of all the best ones I could find to make this process easy and work as best as possible.
This process is very simple especially if you have already run the factory firmware update on your tablet.
Known not working:
The physic buttons at the bottom of the tablet (home, menu, and back) will not work with this firmware but can be worked around with an app download called Button Savior.
Netflix for me has been a black screen with sound working, haven't really worked on a fix for this one yet.
Auto rotate does not seem to work either so I would recommend just turning it off and letting the programs you run decide which way the screen should be.
Here is a list of the things you will need in order to do the firmware update to 4.0 including links:
Link for Production Software to push new firmware to device.
http://www.lyxfsz.com/cn/downs_view.htm?id=30
momo9 ICS 4.0 Update
http://narod.ru/disk/37649199001/MOMO9C-4-Kevin.rar.html
Scritps for working market place.
http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...ownload link&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13268322030251
Link for downloading pdanet for the usb drivers to work with ADB
http://junefabrics.com/android/download.php
You will also need android sdk downloaded in order to run the scrips to have a working market through ADB shell.
To make this process run smoothly you will need to rename the .img file and .key from the momo9 update file to the following.
a710-v0.5.1.img
proxypid1_solution_net_141516D2-8AC7-4a7a-8D0A-1E49BE70842E.key
Once you have the the necessary downloads complete, the process is very simple.
1.Turn your tablet off and run the firmware update software on your computer. You will re-name the .img and .key files as stated earlier and load them into the software.
2. You will now press start on the program and on your tablet you will now put a small pin in the bottom of the tablet in the hole to the right of the mini hdmi port (this will prompt the tablet to receive the update) and now connect the usb cable and release the pin once usb cable is connected.
3.Once the update is finished you will need to disconnect the usb cable and restart your tablet.
4.Once tablet is restarted you will need to run the PDAnet download and install the software on to your computer and tablet. This will let your computer recognize your table so that ADB shell can now program your tablet.
5.Once PDAnet software is installed you may now run the scripts to have working market. This process is very simple and quick, all you have to do is double click on the .bat file and it will do the rest for you.
6.After the scripts run your tablet will automatically restart and you are almost done. There is only one more app you will need to download from the market in order to make this fully functional. The physic buttons at the bottom of the tablet will no longer work so you need to download an app from the market called Button Savior and set that up on your tablet. This app will take the place of those buttons.
If you have any questions or if I have left something out please let me know and I will get back to you asap.
thanks
Thanks for the useful info and step-by-step instructions.
What i'm wondering is if you feel there are any performance improvements from the upgrade. For instance, do you feel like the UI is any quicker compared to 2.3? I'm fairly happy with the stock setup, but faster is always better.
Yes I do feel the UI is much faster the 2.3 and also less performance draining due to minimal visual effects on transitions. Also it is more direct then 2.3 with the menus so it is easier to get around with.
and there are no other issues with this besides the capacitive buttons?
camera?
usb?
sd card?
wifi?
it's just odd that firmware for a different device would work so well with this one. The novo 7 elf has myriad issues, and that's with stock firmware designed for it! I guess it pays to have such similar hardware.
Yes everything worked fine with it other then the few things stated above. Yeah it is weird to have a firmware from a totally different device work so well. I figured that maybe the display or the touch screen would't work for starters, but bam right after install, almost everything worked great, and after work arounds there wasn't anything I couldn't do with it. I cant wait for the factory ICS to come out so we can start modding it to port over a new rom.
isnt there a way to remap the HW buttons?
Yeah that's definitely a possibility. If only I could open up the firmware image from the factory firmware or even better make a back up of it, then it would be easily edited.
What about this :
1. Fire up adb
2. Edit the key mapping file /system/usr/keylayout/sun4i-keyboard.kl

If you upgrade from version Rataplan Zune to not have problems, but neither is that Rataplan version you have installed.
Even if you only upgrade would have to jump a mistake or if it is a recent version of Rataplan how 7.10.8858.xx update, you will not have problems to update by Zune if the ROM developer recommends. It is always advisable to install the most current custom ROM is decirm WP7.8 version "7.10.8862"
On what issues installing on your device, also know that post you're talking about.
PS: Please you have to be more precise to discuss any problems, so we can help.
Sorry for my bad English, since using Google translator.

If you jump you can update an update from Zune without problems. The update does not affect the device, ie, it will not block because the Zune update you mention is a minor update. You have 2 updates ahead 7.10.8860 and 7.10.8862.
I also want to say that even a good ROM that you have installed, I personally prefer a more current ROM, how eg RainbowMod 2.2 ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1665651
PS: Flashing a ROM, you will lose all your personal stuff, you please do a backup with Zune and the next WPBackup program and do not forget to thank UltraShot:

XDA does not support piracy, but I will answer briefly. If you install a patched application you can never upgrade from the market, unless the device and uninstall the new version is downloaded. The best way to avoid problems is to buy the application, because if you like to enjoy the application or games without spending money, the developer is wasting time with people how you.

Do not quite understand your question, sorry, since I'm from Spain and I do not understand English very well, sorry.
But if you mean that if you can see the internal files with RainbowMod ROM 2.2, ie, scan all files, let me say yes.

Hello everyone,
I would like to know if it is possible to somehow "download" the Android software from a MTCD unit?
Like how you use update.img to update the software, except in reverse. Is there any way to download a copy of the system image, preferably in a convenient, usable update.img form, from a unit?
Thanks in advance.
I don't know the answer, I also want to know!
+ The same question but for the mcu.img

HA ROM from dasaita - what's that? Never head of a manufacturer like that?
What I meant was is there a possibility of downloading the ROM from any Android MTCD device (KGL, KLD, MX, GS, whatever), in a re-usable form (such as update.img) to be used on another Android-based device?
Yes, HA has an OTA update function for ROMs but I am not sure if it works. When the last update came out I've tried to update but it showed me that there is no update available. So I had to update manually. I am not sure if it didn't work because I have a GS with HA ROM, if the update wasn't published via OTA or if this function isn't workning yet because it is new.
OTA MCU updates aren't available.

Hello,
I have a car radio on the Android MCU system version MTCD_KGL_V1.53a_1 compilation number rk3188-userdebug 27052016.
Can I update to a newer version of android, because it is 5.1.1 now?
On the forum I found MCU updates for KGL v.2.83. Where can I find a ROM for my radio.
I tried to update the MCU, but unfortunately I'm making a mistake. I do not know what I'm doing wrong. I downloaded the MCU from the site
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3246386
I copied to the card and changed the mcu.img file to dmcu.img. Unfortunately, it lights up the error.
I do not know if I should update the ROM first and then the MCU first.

I have read that if you upgrade your android system to the newer version; something about the GPS maps will no longer work. Not sure but you might want to look for that.
I have the same system A-Media Auto, MTCD-KGL_v1.53a_1
I found a newer version KGL_10-20-2016_1.92a_4_dmcu.img but I can't get the Head to find the .img file
I tried the SD card in the slot, GPS slot and a USB cable. Still System Update cannot find the .img file. Frustrated I gave up.
I did find that the SYGIC maps works good with the unit. I didn't like the IGO that came with it and wiped the map SD.
I also loaded Car Launcher v2.4.074 which is more appealing.
The backup camera is kind of squirrelly, works when it wants to.
Thinking about getting a new head unit with a flat screen, no buttons and knobs, but not sure if I want to go with a name brand or pure android version.
Will try to insert an image of my unit but I am new at this. The image wants me to put in a http url

Feel like I'm missing something obvious - what is the firmware upgrade process on for the JFW-UQD11N4G?
11.6" 1080P UIS7862 head unit.
I've downloaded the latest ZIP from Joying, tried to use the update app, tried to update via settings and saved as "update.zip" in the filesystem root, but that failed.
Any ideas?
I've found this which suggests it needs to be done via USB stick
Wondering if you can do it by downloading/extracting the ZIP on the head unit itself.
You need to post full details of the head unit, System information /MCU version.

Yes, you can. Unizp the firmware to a empty USB-stick and simply insert the usb-stick into the unit. It will recognize the firmware and start the update.
Next time please read the Joying blog where you downloaded the firmware. That exactly describes this process and which firmware is suitable for your hardware (This has to do with sometimes deviating resolutions like for Tesla like units)
That recovery mode is only necessary in case you soft-bricked your unit.

The instructions aren't actually on the page with the download. They were on a different blog page.
My question is, is it possible to do without USB stick/drive since I've downloaded the firmware update directly to the headunit? I guess not.

No, that is indeed not possible. It checks for an update on connected mass storage. usb-stick, sd-card via reader, usb-disk, etc.
