Get your stock HAM7 firmware, unzip the archive and extract the UPDATE.APP file with huawei update extractor (you can search this on this forum) and flash the stock recovery manually via bootloader.
Take this

Hi!
I would like to know if it is possible to restore the 4.4.4 kit kat backup on a 5.1. lollipop system. So basically i would like to update to 5.1 but then I may want to revert back to 4.4.4 with the back up of recovery's 4.4.4 (which is stored on a memory card) Is it possible? Is there a root out for 5.1 yet? please help me if you can.
EDIT:
Here is the solution how to root and install recovery on .368 firmware:
http://techbeasts.com/2015/09/18/ro...ria-z1-compact-android-511-146a0368-firmware/
This is how you create your own FTF firmware with XperiFirm and FlashTool:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/08/1...re-files-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool-guide/
This is how you make a pre rooted, flashable zip:
http://techbeasts.com/2015/07/26/how-create-sony-xperia-pre-rooted-firmware-prf-creator/
I hope everything is clear now. I followed the steps above and it is working fine.

you can update to 5.1 but use a prerooted firmware with recovery included, don t flash official cause you will not be able to root it and install recovery.
i reverted between kit kat and lollipop many times myself,no prob.
as long as you have a recovery installed i don t thing you will have a problem.
of course make a back up,in case you want back.
now i noticed you post in the wrong section, should be moved in questions and answers

that´s wrong - you can root LP FW with that TOOL from our genius dev @munjeni.
You only had to unlock the bootloader.
Do I need a custom recovery for flashing the new 5.1.1 firmware? I mean do I need the specific XZ Dual Recovery or can I use the recovery which was installed automatically after rooting?

you say that you made a backup of 4.4.4,right?
you entered recovery so you did it either with TWRP or CWM.TWRP and CWM are both recoveries.
you can flash pre rooted firmware and restore backups with both of them,i just prefer better and suggest TWRP.
remember that if you want to restore your back up you need to do it with the same recovery you made it,i think that TWRP cant restore backups made with CWM and vice-versa.
anyway, you can easily find what backup you have if you find the folders named TWRP and CLOCKWORK or CWM in your external or internal storage, back up files is about 4gb size.
how to install now:
1.reboot your phone and when your led light blink press volume down key to enter TWRP recovery.if it gets you in CWM reboot again and when led blink press volume up,so you enter TWRP recovery.
2.now you are in TWRP you press WIPE on the top right box.then drug the slider at the bottom SWIPE TO FACTORY RESET
3.press back button annd shoose install
4.find your prerooted zip,on the top centre under SELECT ZIP TO INSTALL,is STORAGE internal or external sd card
5.install zip:good:
PS:make a fresh backup before you start
Thank you so much. Finally someone explained it normally.
Can someone give me a link where I can find pre rooted 5.1 Rom as a zip file for my Z1 compact? It would also be important to be central europe, unbranded or telekom. Thank you in advance!
You can do one yourself.
I don't have URLs till hands but those are easy to find on forum.

I am a new user of Xiaomi Mi 4i Indian version. I am on MIUI v 7.2.3.0 with no root and so no TWRP installed. As i have to be on MIUI v 6.6.10 for flashing most of the custom rom, plz tell me how to downgrade using stock recovery(as i dont have root and so no TWRP installed)? And what i have to do if something goes wrong during downgrading process. plz help me..... i don't want to my phone bricked.
Download previous version and just flash it using stock recovery or just go to updater and select update zip and let it flash
It is official way to do it manually. Without any root or twrp
And don't worry xiaomi gives warranty even on rooting device

thanx for replying.dude... i know the TWRP process. It has backup and restore option. But rooting v 7.2.3.0 Is little bit hard(have to use pc). I just want to know if there any process for backup and restoring process without root as i want to downgrade without root and i dont want to go service centre.... thank u
When flashing MIUI, it is recommended to flash it via stock recovery as if you flash it with Custom Recovery (TWRP), it will output errors and flashing won't succeed. If you want a clean start, I suggest flashing via fastboot.
Thus, download desired version of MIUI, and flash it via stock recovery itself.

Did you check to see if your bootloader is unlocked before you flashed TWRP. If your bootloader is locked it won't let you flash anything that isn't stock.
Flash your stock recovery back on the device and then check status of bootloader, if its locked, find the unlock method if one exists for your model and firmware build number. If you can unlock then you can flash TWRP.
Bt I flashed many rom, many times....I think bootloader is open

Use TWRP Manager from Playstore to flash your recovery again.
For future reference, TWRP will flash .zip and .img files, next time you can flash the TWRP update in TWRP instead of using an app. After flashing the updated TWRP you go back yo main menu and select Reboot and then select reboot recovery, it will boot reboot into the updated recovery.
Yaa 1stly I try with TWRP manager bt my phone is not listed there
And what is the easiest way to get recovery back

These smartphones have a built-in eRecovery mechanism. When you turn on the phone there should be a warning screen "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted". Choose the option 2 (hold the volume up key for 3 seconds). At this point you will be presented a menu with an option to restore your firmware and recovery, as seen on the attached pictures. Worked for me to go from EMUI 8 back to the last EMUI 5.
