USB Debugging Setting no longer holds - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I couldn't edit the title of my previous post, but I believe my TWRP issue is related to the USB debugging setting that keeps tuning off on its own. I can enable it, but as soon as I close settings or go back to the debugging setting, the setting turns off. Before I try to restore an old back up, just seeing if there are any other recommendations to try?

Update: I don't understand why, but suddenly I was able to get the USB debugging setting to hold. The only change I can think that I made was freezing Cerberusapp since LS Droid terminated their lifetime license. Not sure if this app had anything to do with the USB debugging, but it is back and holding even after reboots.

Autostarts freezes even with USB Debugging Enabled

I am trying to use autostarts, which is an application that disables things from running automatically. I have seen people say that the app freezes when trying to disable something, and to enable USB debugging. I have it enabled and it still freezes when I try to disable something. Anyone else have this issue or know a way to get it to work? Thx
I had the same issue a couple days ago. I have a Samsung Epic but hopefully this will help you to.
I had the same problem when I didn't have USB Debugging checked in the settings menu. So I read the forums and found out that is what I had wrong but that didnt work either.
So I got it to work by making sure USB Debugging and Stay Awake was on. Rebooted the Device and had it on the charger while I did it and Autostarts started to work like normal.
Hopefully this was somewhat helpful and it works for you

ummm, that'd prolly clear my problem up, but would take too much time getting everything reinstalled and reconfigured. Phone's fully functional as far as I can tell, just USB Debugging setting is greyed out. Any ideas other than a factory reset?
heh, figured it out. Thanks, XDA...
anyhoo, seems USB Debugging is greyed out *if* USB is set to Ask on Connect. Set to Mass Storage and USB Debugging is available...

I just got a replacement handset and now I am unable to enter into usb debugging mode. I can select it but as soon as I exit the screen it becomes unselected. I have also tried to select mass storage instead Ask on Connect but it won't let me do that either. Every time I try to select another option I am bumped of the screen. What is going on here?
By the way I have a Samsung Galaxy S 4G. This doesn't make any sense other than T-Mobile disabled this feature.

It would make more sense to ask at the SGS4G forum.

[Q] USB Debugging problem

Been having this problem since today morning. I ran Titanium Backup and got a warning message "Warning-System configuartion" Your system settings may cause problems. To correct this, go to settings, then in applications>Development> tick USB debugging check box.
My USB debugging was always ticked. So I went to the setting and found that it was unticked. So I ticked it again and opened titanium back up and got the same warning. After repeated ticking, it just reverts back to untick state. I am kinda flabbergasted. How to I get the USB debugging to be ticked?
I have installed some apps prior to this. Some nursery rhymes for my kid. Could this be a factor?
Try clearing cache and data for titanium and see what happens.

Default USB mode when plugging into computer

Is there any way to make the phone come up in MTP mode by default when plugging into a computer? Currently it defaults to charging mode when first plugged in and I have to tap the notification to change to MTP.
That's odd. Mine automatically goes to mtp. There is an option to change the default usb mode in developer options.

I already tried that. Set it to default to MTP, but it still comes up in charge mode.
Again, strange. I've heard of usb debugging mode interfering with mtp, try toggling that perhaps
Edit to add:
Falling that there is an app based solution that automates the process for you provided you have root here https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-mtp-enbaler-t3263467

Tried turning off USB debugging, but same result. Then thought it might be related to security settings. I have a pin and fingerprints setup to unlock screen. Turned all that off but same results.
Currently am un-rooted on this phone. Had some trouble getting SU installed plus there are currently no custom Nougat ROMS for this phone, so backed it all out to stock recovery/locked bootloader. Now testing out DNS66 for adblocking and OGyoutube for ad-free youtube experience. Works pretty well so far.

After an extensive search through the forums and contacting Honor services, the problem seems to be the motherboard. Something in the phone seems to have fried during one of the charging sessions. This can't be fixed, according to those I have spoke to about it.

Samsung J7 Prime G610M - FAP Lock + weird usb problem - Urgent

So, something very weird started happening to my phone. Out of nowhere, about 7 hours ago, it would stop charging whenever it was on, charging only when it was off and connected to my laptop. However, I thought it was just something wrong in the dev options, and I went to change whatever was the USB option to "charge phone". With this, I did accidentally forgot to activate the OEM option, and had to reboot not long after. You can probably see where this is going now.
Now I have a phone that bootloops on the FAP Lock message, and whenever I go to download mode to fix it, my PC just doesn't recognize the Phone. I've tried different USB cables, all of them are only recognized when the phone is shut down. So it isn't a hardware problem, because the Phone actually charges when it's shut down, and it isn't a problem with my USB ports or cables, as anything else I use with it works fine. And the worst part is, I need this phone today for a serious bank matter, and I can't afford to lose any data on it either, there's some very personal important stuff from yesterday that wasn't backed up yet. And keep in mind that paying for it to be fixed is the last option for me, as I can't afford it (besides, I fear they might end up getting the phone in factory reset mode, and I can't lose that data as I said).
Any kind of suggestions on how to get either the PC to recognize the phone, or flashing in a different way that doesn't need the PC to recognize the device? Thanks in advance.
Edit: Whenever I try to connect the phone via USB, it doesn't even make the Windows "USB connected" sound, it's just like it isn't there at all. One time, I got it to show, but it was as a "unrecognized usb device", and I haven't been able to replicate it yet.
