I am trying to use autostarts, which is an application that disables things from running automatically. I have seen people say that the app freezes when trying to disable something, and to enable USB debugging. I have it enabled and it still freezes when I try to disable something. Anyone else have this issue or know a way to get it to work? Thx
I had the same issue a couple days ago. I have a Samsung Epic but hopefully this will help you to.
I had the same problem when I didn't have USB Debugging checked in the settings menu. So I read the forums and found out that is what I had wrong but that didnt work either.
So I got it to work by making sure USB Debugging and Stay Awake was on. Rebooted the Device and had it on the charger while I did it and Autostarts started to work like normal.
Hopefully this was somewhat helpful and it works for you

Ok, after searching quite a bit, there doesn't seem to be any way of configuring usb diagnostic mode (sys.usb.config diag, adb) in CM12/PA 5.0.2. I've tried several times, and the closest I get is adb working and the diag port either constantly turns on and off, or doesn't read at all. I'm thinking it might be due to the fact that I can't seem to fully shut off mtp in storage. It only turns off (meaning the screen to switch doesn't open) after I issue the diag, adb command. I'm not sure, but I'm leaning towards this being some sort of new setting for Lollipop, which, if so, I guess I can try writing a script that might allow diag access. But, if anyone has any insight into this, please let me know. Thanks for reading.

Shameless bump is shameless. For shame...
Hello, did you find something out?
I'm looking for a solution too. I think we are screwed until there is an OS update that fixes it

hi guys...
any news from diag mode for CM12..?
Hi,
I've got an envizen tablet which I accidentally turned the brightness off on completely. This is a serious problem, seeing as this is essentially a write-only device (see the wiki articles since this website is under the impression that I'll spam some links). If this somehow has a fix at all then it will be extremely hard to debug since a) I install many applications, b) I use a custom launcher, c) I have an applock enabled and settings is hard to get to now to enable USB debugging, and d) One of the first things I did to my tablet was disable the Android Device Manager. This is caused by a little program called Dimly, and even though I can successfully log into my tablet, the USB connection isn't set to allow ADB to debug.
This is the application-layer equivalent of a bricked device.
Please help me.
Resolved
This issue has been resolved by a force-shutdown and a viable timing window in which the services start up.
Hey guys,
First off: I searched. Nothing on this specific issue.
My issue: I try to enable USB debugging on my OPO, it works for a few seconds (maybe 4s), then it gets automatically disabled. The notification shows up for about 4s and then disappears, when I go back to the developer menu its disabled.
My OPO: 64GB, 12.0-YNG1TAS2I3, Unlocked, Rooted.
If anyone needs any more info I'll gladly provide it.

Did you manage to come up with a solution? I'm having the same problem.
I had this problem on my Moto G (1st gen) and now on my Xperia Z3 Compact and the exact same thing was happening, which makes me think it could be an app or something affecting it (I just restored nearly everything from Titanium Backup).
Is your ADB working in recovery mode? Mine is so therefore it isn't a computer issue
Ok, turns out I accidentally fixed it somehow so I'm posting here incase anyone else encounters the same issues.
I was having issues with Tasker, TitaniumBackup and ADB and I think it was all inter-related. I re-installed Tasker because tasks weren't automatically triggering. After a couple of reboots due to things being odd, everything started working again. I also ran some TB backups before checking if ADB was working but I'm not sure if that affected it.
TLDR; uninstall Tasker (and maybe disable some device admins?)
Yah, it was an app. Cerberus.
Is there any way to make the phone come up in MTP mode by default when plugging into a computer? Currently it defaults to charging mode when first plugged in and I have to tap the notification to change to MTP.
That's odd. Mine automatically goes to mtp. There is an option to change the default usb mode in developer options.

I already tried that. Set it to default to MTP, but it still comes up in charge mode.
Again, strange. I've heard of usb debugging mode interfering with mtp, try toggling that perhaps
Edit to add:
Falling that there is an app based solution that automates the process for you provided you have root here https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-mtp-enbaler-t3263467

Tried turning off USB debugging, but same result. Then thought it might be related to security settings. I have a pin and fingerprints setup to unlock screen. Turned all that off but same results.
Currently am un-rooted on this phone. Had some trouble getting SU installed plus there are currently no custom Nougat ROMS for this phone, so backed it all out to stock recovery/locked bootloader. Now testing out DNS66 for adblocking and OGyoutube for ad-free youtube experience. Works pretty well so far.

After an extensive search through the forums and contacting Honor services, the problem seems to be the motherboard. Something in the phone seems to have fried during one of the charging sessions. This can't be fixed, according to those I have spoke to about it.
I couldn't edit the title of my previous post, but I believe my TWRP issue is related to the USB debugging setting that keeps tuning off on its own. I can enable it, but as soon as I close settings or go back to the debugging setting, the setting turns off. Before I try to restore an old back up, just seeing if there are any other recommendations to try?
Update: I don't understand why, but suddenly I was able to get the USB debugging setting to hold. The only change I can think that I made was freezing Cerberusapp since LS Droid terminated their lifetime license. Not sure if this app had anything to do with the USB debugging, but it is back and holding even after reboots.
