Hard bricked Pixel 3 - Google Pixel 3 Questions & Answers

Hi there, is there any way to put Pixel 3 in emergency download mode?
For now I have: 1 hard-bricked out-of-warranty Pixel 3 in disassembly state, locked bootloader and not working (really, not working) recovery. RMA is not an option (not based in any Google Store or support) countries, only hardcore.
For now I've tried to put phone in EDL via cable (D+ on GND, D- on GND), but it seems not an option. On PCB there are no marks, so, are here any people, who were successful in putting Pixel 3 in 9008 or so?
Thanks in advance, and sorry for my bad english.

Fastboot available, but useless: bootloader in locked state.

that doesn't matter. is it just a boot loop then? that's an easy fix

all a locked bootloader does is open the authentication for cooked ROMs. you can install a regular factory image to restore your phone

Mail-in starting from 411$ + mail out of RU around 100$, new phone available in ~250$. So, any suggestions?

He said recovery is not working. Device is toast sadly.

Did you get the UFS chip corrupted somehow? Seems like your only way is to do blow the UFS chip off and reimage it somehow, or get a working chip to replace it... Good luck

Hi !
I think I know what happened to you because something very similar happened to me ( bootlooping for nothing while I was in android 10 , and I had like a 1/4 chance to not get bootlooped in FASTBOOT mode )
Try this video :
https://youtu.be/zQmK5KwN5dk
Yea it's pixel 2 but it works the same as pixel 3 , just do this with your files step by step and maybe it can work, use the 2nd method of the video ( which is the harder one but it worked for me ) , good luck mate!

Tool all in one. download. flash factory image.

I don't think it's corrupted, but it needs to be reflashed in boot partition. Currently trying to find any programmator(flasher, hw flash tool, something about, I'm not very good in english) and util for it. Maybe I will have luck with this option.

Btw, looks like it is first recovery thread for Pixel 3 in out-of-warranty state, currently I'm trying to find some options to get emergency download, or something else. Looking forward for any other suggestions, and, of course, if I will kinda lucky, will post own solution

Please! Help me! I can't figure this out!

My OnePlus One just went screwy on me and so I tried to do a reset with TWRP. The factory reset didn't work. The phone is in a bootloop as the loading screen stays on and that's it. I noticed in recovery that the " /persist" file could not be mounted so I figure it's corrupted. The problem is this: NO drivers can be loaded and my phone will not be recognized in device manager, OPO toolkit, or any other means! This thing is bricked!! I tried ADB, Google, Samsung, and Universal drivers to no effect. I just don't know how I can get my phone recognized again. It did at one point come up as QSHub or something like that but I can't even get that now. Fastboot mode comes on my phone but does nothing and the MTP USB device driver will not install! I don't know what to do and just wasted 6 hours trying to figure this out! I am not very savvy with phones when it comes to this sort of thing. I can root a phone but that's as far as I can go comfortably. If someone has a solution to this problem, please advise me but you may have to hand hold me through it as I am not really up on how to do things the way they may have to be done. Thanks!
Your phone isn't bricked. Are you making sure that you reboot your PC after each uninstall and install of any drivers?

Yes, I rebooted after installation of any drivers. It didn't make any difference as my phone still wasn't recognized by my computer.
Alright, maybe try this:

Well, my phone is recognized when I type "fastboot devices" but I do not know where to go from here. I got the device to be recognized using info from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2839471. According to your guidelines in [GUIDE] [UNBRICK] Unbrick Oneplus One, I am soft bricked, it would seem. What should my next step be? I tried to unlock the bootloader but it gives me this in the CMD window.
C:\Users\Se7en\Desktop\MTP>fastboot devices
5e1c4e77 fastboot
C:\Users\Se7en\Desktop\MTP>fastboot oem unlock

OKAY [ 0.020s]

C:\Users\Se7en\Desktop\MTP>fastboot oem device-in
...
(bootloader) Device tampered: true
(bootloader) Device unlocked: false
(bootloader) Charger screen enabled: false
OKAY [ 0.005s]
finished. total time: 0.005s
So what is the next step to get this thing working? Am I heading in the right direction or am I getting ahead of myself?
Thanks in advance for any help

If you've got fastboot working you're on your way. Your bootloader doesn't seem to be unlocking though, did you relock it at some point? If so, why? As long as you still have TWRP installed you can flash a token to unlock it again (this won't wipe your data). You'll find it in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/mod-reset-unlock-tamper-bit-t2820912
So just flash that and your bootloader will unlock. Then download this:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B98G0KTJwnBFUnJCNldodGs2dE0/edit?usp=docslist_api
Put it in your fastboot folder on your PC, put your phone in fastboot mode and connect it to your PC, then issue these commands:
Code:
fastboot erase persist
fastboot flash persist persist.img

I didn't relock it, at least I didn't set out to intentionally lock it. Through my experimentation to get this phone running again, it is very possible that I may have. I'll try the info you gave me and let you know. Thanks very much!
Sorry for being a noob but do I unzip the Bootunlocker.zip file you directed me to or leave it as is? Secondly, what is the exact procedure to flash this with TWRP? I just don't want to make any mistakes as this is all new to me. Thanks!

Don't unzip it, just transfer it to your phone, then go to the install menu in TWRP and find the zip on your phone and swipe tip install.

There's the problem: My phone isn't being recognized in Windows so I cannot transfer anything to it. How can that be remedied? The driver software for QHSUSB cannot be found and MTP device fails to install all the time!
EDIT: I think I got it! I changed the USB ADB interface driver and it recognized my phone as "One". I can now follow your instructions. I will keep you posted.

You don't have a keyboard at all? Haven't seen that before. So there's no keyboard at all showing up when you go into Settings/Language & Input?

I guess this process wiped all my data because it's asking me to set up my accounts again. However, when I go try to input anything, I only have Google voice and no keyboard. Sometimes I see a keyboard icon but it doesn't respond when I touch it. If I could access my settings, I'm sure I could change things but obviously, I can't at this point.

What you could do is access the Play Store on your PC and find a free keyboard to install, press the install button in the web browser on your PC and it'll download the keyboard to your phone.

Great idea. I'll do just that. Thanks!
It doesn't work. The keyboard file isn't being pushed to my phone. SUX! Cannot root either as OPO toolkit says no ADB device detected (debugging on). Also, the log from OPOTK says that my device is unauthorized.
Here's the log:

Bummer. It might be time to start from scratch. Go to my guide and follow section 8 to flash the stock images with fastboot, just don't flash the userdata image or you'll wipe your internal storage.

Get rid of the toolkit, it really isn't needed for this phone, and they cause more problems than they're worth. If you want to root all you need to do is download the SuperSU zip to your phone and install it with TWRP. I'd suggest flashing the stock images as I've described above though.

Issue unlocking bootloader on Mediapad (Honor) X2 (Remote password wrong)

Hi All,
I have a mediapad X2 that I would like to root. The first step in all the guides is to obviously unlock the bootloader.
I went through the Huawei page, and also emailed Huawei, and both returned the same 16-digit unlock code. Great right? Not quite.
The Setup:
1.) ADB and Fastboot BOTH detect the phone just fine and "adb setup 1.42" drivers are installed. No issues here
2.) I Did try on 3 different windows machines (One Desktop, 2 laptops)
3.) I Did try on different USB ports
4.) USB Debugging is enabled
5.) I tried the following root methods. ALL HAVE FAILED (varying behavior and error messages)
Chainfire
Super-Root
Towel Root
RootGenius
iRoot (warning: This installs a CRAPLOAD of malware and spyware) and it worked to root the X1 I had but not the X2
6.) The phone had not previously been tampered with, or rooted in any way. The bootloader still shows "PHONE LOCKED"
7.) Build Number: GEM-703LV100R001C233B013
The Issue:
I keep getting the following error:

Hi

This is not a result of unlocking bootloader command. You're trying to flash a new recovery image. Do you have an unlocked bootloader? You can check in fastboot mode, on your phone's screen.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6/development/honor-6-rooting-method-t2962795 There's a tutorial on unlocking the bootloader here. It's a bit chaotic, but the general idea is that you need to go to (you may need to use google translate if the site is in Chinese) http://www.emui.com/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail register email account, log in, go to http://www.emui.com/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail again if it doesn't go there automatically, on your phone check IMEI with *#06# , Product ID with *#*#1357946#*#* , Phone Serial Number in "Settings -> About Phone -> Status (phone information?) -> somewhere here on the list" There should be a code available after you fill all the fields in, you need to use "fastboot oem unlock CODE"

Cannot unlock Huawei Y6 pro [Closed but not unlocked]

I have a thread going on all ready but cannot add to post. I have a Huawei Y6 Pro (locked) but I have (FRP Unlocked) via Developers Options. This is a phone I bough from ebay/china. I would like to throw in that the phone was supposed to be the "Huawei Enjoy-7, but the Y6 Pro is what they sent me and it is unlocked. How am I sure it is a Y6 you may question, well I checked it in settings/about phone.
Here is the link so you know what the phone is.

I need to have the phone "unlocked". It was supposed to be if u look at stats but I got the shaft of china here and it upsets me for I have never been ripped from there yet till now. Seller is of no help but with a run around. Huawei support does have a site to "unlock" but there has to be a flaw in their page for I can not get it to show me a unlock code. I can get to "fastboot" via a terminal via windows. But until I get a unlock code I can do nothing.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to unlock the phone. I will remind that Huawei gives no help on a unlock code and this phone is legit, no bad IMEI number verified.
