I'm having HTC Desire 626G+, Running DOT OS 1.1 (Android 7.1.2).
And i'm looking for Oreo (8.0) roms for my device or my chip set (MT6592).
But i'm unable to find one, so i'm going to port a rom for myself!
And i want to know one thing...
Are there any tutorials regarding porting Android of higher version (8.0) to a device having a lower Android version (7.1.2).
All I need is, does the normal 'porting' method applies for the above or not. If not, please suggest me a tutorial.
Thanks in advance!!!

Hi guys, I have a question... or rather, I'm in need of a comprehensive tutorial. It's 2018 and I still own a Galaxy S5. It's the SM-G900H model running Android 6.0.1. I want to install a custom ROM on my GS5. To be specific, I want to install an Android Oreo (8.0) custom ROM. Could you please recommend the most stable and overall best custom ROM for the GS5 in 2018? Please also give me a tutorial on how to install it. By "most stable and overall best" I mean the latest ROM with no bugs at all in which all my phone's features work seamlessly.
BTW, I have never rooted or installed a custom ROM on an android device before... I'm just kinda bored with my GS5 and wanna spice things up a bit before buying a new phone. Thanks for the read and I'll be eagerly awaiting a helpful response. Thank you!
I have a stock Samsung Galaxy S8+ model SM-G955U (Snapdragon) on T-Mobile USA
- build number NRD90M.G955USQU1AQJ8
- service provider SW ver: SA0MC-SM-G955U_OYN_TMB_0187 98891 a315a30494859 TMB/TMB/TMB
- The phone is a USA version purchased directly from TMOUSA.
From the build number, I guess my bootloader is version 1, right?
What is the best method to flash TWRP recovery and then install a custom rom on my device?
There's a post here, but it mentions version 5 bootloaders. Will that method work for me? Is there a better method instead? I've been reading threads all day, but I'm more confused than when I started due to the different models of the S8+.
Is there a LineageOS v15 or AOKP 8.1 ROM for my device? I want a rooted ROM without GAPPS and I prefer a fully-featured ROM like AOKP. Any suggestions for me? (I want to move up from 7.1 and I prefer a stable ROM, so I thought Android 8.1 might be the best option.)
A little information first -
Original Device Configuration: One Plus 7 Pro Nebula Blue Purchased From T-Mobile - Stock Firmware
Current Device Config: Flashed To Oxygen OS International Version - 9.5.11 - Running With Root, Custom Kernel and TWRP
=======================================================================================================================
I was thinking about upgrading to Android 10 (International version), but I see that there are (were?) a lot of problems with that release. Is that still the case? and if not, what is the best method for me to follow if I want to wipe everything and start fresh on Android 10 (International version not TMobile)?Or is recommended to use one of the custom OxygenOS/Android 10 roms for bug fixes, stability and battery life improvements?
I've actually been running this phone stock with root and a custom kernel and have loved it to the point where I didnt feel the need for a custom rom, but I'm not opposed to it if it means a better Android 10 experiences VS whats available from OP.
Hi all!
Sorry for this thread, but I'm new here, at least searvhing for ROMs, and I get lost on lots of threads here.
I would like to know the latest OFFICAL ROM for the "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" tablet. My tablet has now the version 4.1.2.
Follow some infos:
MODEL Number: GT-N8000
Android version: 4.1.2
Base version: N8000UBLL2
Kernel version:
3.0.31 - 835372
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT Thu Jan 24 18:54:47 KST 2013
Compilation number: JZ054K.N8000UBCMA4
The actual ROM/System is in Brazilian Portuguese, but I don't care changing it to English.
Of course I would like some really actual Android version, such like version 12 or at least 11, but, as this tablet is really old, I understand that the lastest OFFICIAL version can be old.
So, I would just like to know what is the latest OFFICIAL version available for my tablet.
I would appreciate any help on getting this latest OFFICIAL help and also link for instruction on how to update.
Thanks in advance!
Regards!

Thank you @JJEgan !!!
Checking the site you mentioned, updato.com, for my country, Brazil, there is no newer version than the one already on my tablet. Can I install a version from another country? Like UK or USA.
By OFFICIAL, I mean tested, validated and mainly, stable. Here at XDA, Is there a stable version newer then this 4.4.2 or even this 4.4.2 version?
Can I find this official 4.4.2 version you mentioned, here at XDA?
Thanks again!
Hey,
Good afternoon!
If you want to continue with KITKAT I recommend using the Mikyno Gnabo Rom V8 custom rom [AIR COMMAND - NOTE 2014 APPS], It is updated to 4.4.2 and is lighter than the Original rom I used it for a long time.
Today I'm testing the html6405 LineageOS 19.1 (Android 12L) Rom, it's in the Beta version, if you want a more stable one you can try LineageOS 16.0 Android 9 for GT-N8000 GT-N8010 GT-N8013 GT-N8020 FINAL VERSION.

Hi! Thank you!
I don't need to keep KitKat version. No problem about moving to a newer version. Actually it should be better.
So, as you said LineageOS 16.0 Android 9 is more stable, I will choose this one. Thanks!
Can I download it here at XDA? With all instructions on how to install?
Thanks a lot!
Fala Rodrigo!
You can follow the tutorial on this page.
Are you familiar with the process of installing custom ROMs?
I was testing the LineageOS 16.0 Android 9 version, but I found it heavy, it kept crashing even without demanding much from the tablet.
I'm currently installing the LineageOS 14.1 Android 7.1.2 version, which may be lighter. After all, it's a very old tablet
