Porting an Android ROM of higher version to a device having lower Android Version - General Questions and Answers

I'm having HTC Desire 626G+, Running DOT OS 1.1 (Android 7.1.2).
And i'm looking for Oreo (8.0) roms for my device or my chip set (MT6592).
But i'm unable to find one, so i'm going to port a rom for myself!
And i want to know one thing...
Are there any tutorials regarding porting Android of higher version (8.0) to a device having a lower Android version (7.1.2).
All I need is, does the normal 'porting' method applies for the above or not. If not, please suggest me a tutorial.
Thanks in advance!!!

Help in porting Rom.

Hey everyone. I wanted to know that if a rom can be ported, then what type of rom can be ported? I have ported two successfully. Just needed to know that can I port a Rom of higher version? My device has mediatek processor and version is jellybean with the kernel version ,3.4.5 . Want to port a Rom of the version Marshmallow made for mediatek devices including kernel version 3.4.7. Please guide me for any way to port this Rom. Even if it gets technical. Any information will be appreciated. Thx
Not all of the MTK processor can run fluently marshmallow, for example the MT6589 can run only with KitKat and older version, so first of all be sure that your device processor supports marshmallow.
How can I find that if my processor supports higher veversions other than kitkat? Cant find it on Google
Run this app on your device https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gonext.gonextupgrade

It tells that my hardware failed to support marshmallow
*cough* finger sensor *cough* but the app's positive for lollipop. You know that the marshmallow is a refined version version of lollipop. Maybe, I can get it to work with kernel porting or I have to remove everything that state's "finger sensor" in the Rom?
If the app said that your hardware doesn't support marshmallow you can't run marshmallow

Dude, please explain, why?
Because your hardware can't run marshmallow, it's an old hardware to run marshmallow

Getting into rom development?

Hello everyone, I'd like to ask the following question(s).
Background: I've got experience in programming Java, C#, Python and I've messed around other programming languages before.
I'd like to get into the entire ROM building / compiling / 'cooking' scene but I am clueless as where I could start. I've a Zuk Z2(plus) with an unlocked bootloader and TWRP 3.1.0-3 installed.
Rom: AOSPExtended V4.4
Kernel: DarkMoon Experimental 178
Mod(s): shox_Audio_Mod V1.4
Gapps: Opengapps micro
Root: Magisk V13.2
I've been testing lots of roms recently, and now I am getting interested in (as mentioned above) compiling my own roms and maybe even port a rom myself? I'd start out with testing on my Zuk Z2(plus) since I can recover this device from any kind of software-brick. The main reason I'd like to mess around in this scene is because I've got an older tablet laying around with a MTK SOC, but with android 4.4.4 and I'd like to be able to update this
Tablet I'd like to upgrade (eventually): Cube T9 (currently only supports android 4.4.4)
I'd like to create a ROM based on one of these tablets: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/BOBARRY-10-inch-screen-for-T109-only-a-screen/32801822243.html
It might be completely fake hardware specs, I only hope that the SOC and the android version are correct (Maybe someone can confirm this for me)?
It's the only other tablet I've found running the MT8752 SOC and an android version higher then 4.x.x.
Any idea's tips or places where I could start best? I am open to all suggestions so please comment below

Updating old S7 To latest stable version

Hi
I Received some old S7-930F Device.
Currently it is Rooted with custom SuperMan ROM, Running over Android 8.0.0.
Basically, I want to make sure phone is up-to-date as "much as possible" in terms of:
1. Is there any android update newer than Android 8, which is stable, for Galaxy S7?
I know there's beta by lineage based on Android 10, but looking for only stable version.
If there is - Can someone please share some guide / thread with updating instructions?
2. Is there any update to baseband version?
Currently the phone runs with G930FXXU2ERG2
If there is - where can I get it, and how to install it?
Much appreciated
Thanks

Last version of S7 firmware is FXXS6ESGD, get it of sam mobile or Samfirm tool. There's some good roms based on that, de bloated that run really well.

But its just 4 years old and I have seen people make custom roms for way older phones. I have seen people make android 9 custom roms for devices that stopped at android 5. Plus is there no other way to make a custom rom without the device itself? There are a lot of people who still use it today and could possibly help in the process of making the rom.
Please make a custom rom for this model SM-G615F. I want Android 11. But this device stuck in Android 8.1

You will have to learn how to build it yourself, developers here don't build ROMs for unpopular devices or devices they do not personally own or use. You will also have to learn how to build TWRP for your specific device model number. But first, you need to see if you can unlock your bootloader. If your bootloader is locked and if you can't unlock it, you can't use custom ROMs or TWRP even if you manage to figure out how to build your ROM and TWRP.

Will anyone have Android Pie ROM for my device?

Hi, I have a LG X Power device model K220, its Stock ROM is Android 6.0.1 and since some important Apps for me no longer work for that version, I have been looking everywhere for modified ROMS from at least Android 8 or 9 onwards, but I do not get anything, I already checked the compatible devices for Lineage, Resurrection RMX, among others and nothing, if anyone has the knowledge of any modified ROM for LG K220 that is Android 8 or 9 onwards it would be of great help to me
