Remove tick when inputting lockscreen pin? - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Really annoying feature that I don't know how to disable? Any help appreciated thanks

I believe it can be removed a couple different ways with root. One for sure I know of is gravity box.

Anyway to ONLY enable orientate in messaging/texting?

Is there anyway to enable orientate ONLY in messaging/texting? I hate when the phone orientates (it bugs me sometimes, so I disable it), but everytime I need to text, I have to enable it again.
I know spare parts has an option for enabling/disabling launcher orientate, but is there one for messaging/texting?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Disable predictive-like text thing

Posted this in HD2 general, might not have been the right section as no-one seems to be paying any attention, and I really want to sort this!
May be a stupid question, I've searched my phone and the net and couldn't find anything, though I'm not sure what I should be searching for anyway.
I'm hoping someone can tell me how to disable the box of words that pops up when typing something, trying to predict what you might be trying to say.
I'm sure it's only been showing up recently, possibly since I installed an application or something, as I don't remember it being there when I first got the phone, otherwise I would have asked this question by now.
I've attached an example of what I'm talking about.
I've tried going into Text Input Settings and enabling / disabling Spell Correction, Word Completion (XT9) and Word Complection (ABC) (all off at the moment) but it doesn't seem to make any difference, and it's really bugging me!
Any help would be really appreciated!
disabling those options and resetting the device does the trick for me.....
btw what kind of keyboard are you using there?
also you have an "options" when selecting the keyboard input, in that opting menu you need to disable them there too.
I've tried a number of different combinations of settings and resetting the phone in between, just doesn't seem to pay attention to the settings.
Also think there's something weird going on as the XT9 and ABC doesn't make any difference when using the normal keyboards, it no longer has the XT9 style text prediction instead of this blocky word suggestion. Though I don't care about the missing XT9 mode, I just want to hide this.
Also, I'm using Swype keyboard, which was installed after this happened in the hope it would hide the word suggestion, but no such luck
Anyone? Anything?
Really want to sort this, but need assistance!
Try going to HKCU\ControlPanel\Sip. If you have the key 'suggwords', change it from 4 to 0. You may need to soft reset. There are many other settings that can be tweaked in there as well. You could just change 4 to 2, so the suggestion panel doesn't take up as much real estate. Still, it will occasionally obscure a control, which is annoying.
Perfect! That's exactly what I wanted.
I knew someone would know!
Many thanks.

[Q] Disabling newb startup tips

When installing a new rom and going through the initial boot, is there a quick setting to remove all the nagging start tips that ask you to enable motion and tips like "Swipe across the screen to unlock"?

Good question as that annoys me too. I think if you go to settings right away and disable motion it will suppress those (not certain on this). I don't know of a fix for the" swipe for unlock" type messages though. :/

I guess there is no quick way to disable all the tips as I'm sure all devs would insert it into their roms. But if there is a way to change one setting instead of getting nagged 15 times, it would be great to know about it!

Galaxy S7 navigation keys qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 doesn't work

Hey guys I've seen on many form people complaining about Samsung not allowing devices to use the qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 due to marshmallow. I know you can install gravity box through xposed and use the lockscreen method. I do not want to flash xposed due to the chance of bricking my phone lol, and was wondering if someone know of another way to enable the softkeys without gravity box. Thank you in advance for your help!
Good day.
If you want to enable or disable hardware keys, you could try this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.hardwaredisabler
If you want softkeys, you could try this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jun.ace.piecontrol&hl=pt_PT
Hope it helps.
Thanks, but I've tried activating it through the app but it seems in Marshmallow Samsung disabled the softkeys. So I was wondering if there was a work around without having to install xposed module.

Anyway to enable Android Pay without lock screen?

Hey all!
first, i understand this is a security risk, but i am willing to take the risk.
Is there any way, including magisk modules or xposed plugins to have android pay working without having to enable a lock screen or trick it into thinking the lock screen is enabled?
Thanks on advanced.

I would love to figure this out as well. I hate the lock on my phone its such a hassle but I wanted to play around with android pay and I cannot do that without setting a lock.
I would recommend not even looking into this because a. There probably isn't a way around it and b. Nfc is stupid easy to take advantage of and is super insecure and all your accounts tied to the phone would likely be cleaned within a week of figuring this out

Use smartlock to stay unlocked?
Maybe this?
It's a workaround, not properly a module/mod
Answer: use a pattern and fingerprint, quite easy.
similar issue
I am looking for something similar and willing to pay if they can make me an app to install that accomplishes what I need.
I need apps to think that I have a lock screen set when in reality it is set to none or swipe only.
In want apps that support it to be able to use fingerprint even though a lock screen is not set.
Also the ability to modify or add finger prints without screen lock set.
I have similar to the same problem. I downloaded Google pay, then uninstalled it and now I can't not have a lock screen, which I find quite annoying, as I have never used a lock screen in the past
