Im on a Mediatek Kitkat device and the camera is missing from the app drawer but I can access it through lockscreen. When I access it, it says Cant connect to camera. Help is highly appreciated. Thanks!

Try reinstalling Google Camera from Play Store.
Otherwise try some other camera apps from Play Store

You can try the APK here, and please let me know whether it works or not after you have tried.

I use Titanium Backup to backup the camera app, then went into the backup folder and extract the apk file.

Google camera has HDR but crashes when taking pictures in landscape in Miui rom
Can anyone upload the apk of the stock gallery app on the Moto G3? It seems that the slow-motion feature is tied to the gallery app and I would like to have that on LineageOS.

Here is one I use on Resurrection Remix. It's not stock and not play store updatable. But it's nice.
