K1 Color Decoding Problem w/ YouTube? - Shield Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have discovered a problem with the K1 regarding color decoding (?) when playing video through the YouTube app. Please see the screenshot below. At left is the AVS Calibration color steps MP4 file being played on the tablet. At right is the same thing being played on the tablet on YouTube. You will notice at right that there is a problem with greens and cyans. When pausing the YouTube video, the greens and cyans become normal while the pause overlay is on the video, then return to being messed up when the video starts playing again. The YouTube version does not have this problem on my PS3 or Xbox One X. I am not rooted and am running stock SHIELD 5.4, Android 7. The problem happens on Native and sRGB profiles.

[Bug] Weird 10-bit decoding issue w/ SW decoder

Using MX player pro 1.7.31 in software mode, with or without speedup tricks, results in weird artifacts on white pixels with this video (2.6MB).

The video is freshly encoded from DVD, using latest x264 10-bit (cmdline: --level 4.1 --preset veryslow --tune animation --crf 18.0 --qpmax 51 --vbv-bufsize 62000 --vbv-maxrate 62000 --psy-rd 0.60:0)
Those artifacts don't show up when viewing it on my PCs.
This is also the first time I see any artifacts with SW decoder.
Phone is an Xperia M2

Yes, that fixes it. For the record, it appears both in RGB16 and YUV.
Hmm, I should put this into the FAQ somewhere. Done.

New Amazon Prime Video Android TV app from Shield, works on the Nexus Player, mostly!

With the new Nvidia Shield Android TV console comes a new Amazon Prime Video app for it, and it mostly works on the Nexus Player, except when it gets to the last hurdle: actually watching videos.
You can install it, log in, it'll identify which country you are in (something the Sony Amazon Prime Video app didn't do, you were forced to be in America), and shows all the content. When you try and watch any content, thoug,h an error message comes up.
Here's the APK:

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get it to stream the video?
The bad thing is, you can play trailer... So there is some codec hassle I think
So it mostly doesn't work.

UI choppy, laggy and dropping UI frames when a video is playing (e.g. in YouTube)

I have version 161 and it's very laggy and choppy whenever video is playing.
It seems to me that if the video is playing in background, as when you cover the video with the notification drawer or an app like Facebook Messenger, you get this very choppy UI and a lot of frames are dropped.
If you don't touch anything and you just watch the video, it seems to work fine.
Also, rotating the phone when a video is playing takes a massive performance hit and a lot of frames dropped as well...
See the attached pictures. If the bars go over the green horizontal line, then the frame was lost / dropped. As you can see.. there are a lot of frames dropped.

Does anyone know a fix?

Blue cast to videos in Youtube android app

This a screenshot of the youtube app running on Android 12 on my Sony Xperia 1ii mobile.
As you can see, there is a bluish tint to the video - which should be pure white (this video is just an example - it happens on all videos).
The cast is not applied to the whole screen - just the playback box for the video itself.
If I watch the same video on my mac, on the youtube app on an adroid tablet, or on my mobile but within a browser, this does not appear.
Does anyone know why this is happening or how to solve it?
(Something which may or may not be connected: I noticed the other day that a very similar blue cast got applied to a video I uploaded directly to Twitter from my phone. But that cast applies whatever device I watch it back on.)
