Hi! I just bought a mate 7, black 2gb/16gb version and I noticed some screen flickering issues whenever I play some games like badland. Texts appear distorted too sometimes.
Please, how do I fix this issue?
If the problem affects only the game, make sure that the game is appropriate resolution

Thanks for the reply. I updated to B127 and then to B130 but the same problem persists. Screen keeps on blinking when playing games and texts become distorted specially when using google chrome or facebook. Maybe it's a hardware problem?

I did this, restored the phone to factory settings but still the problem persists. I think I'll be taking this phone back to the store for a replacement. Thanks for all the help.

I just got my phone L09 version 16g
I have flickering screen when I watch YouTube vdieo but if I watch in full screen mode screen don't flickering....confusing.

I uninstalled lastest youtube update and the problem's gone
seems more works should be done by huawei

does utub flickers to the right side like every 5 seconds or 10 or randomly
bcos i JUST NOW updated apps after month
In full screen is fine and looks like now we can select 1080p quality nice !
Had the same issue, definitely a faulty phone, have it changed / repaired.

I have the same flickering issue at the lower part of the screen. It flickers on everything whenever I touch the phone. Did factory reset and played around with different phone settings.

Don't waste time trying to fix it when it's clearly a hardware fault and others have experienced the same.
Best solution go back in store say that the new phone is faulty and would like a new replacement.

Flickering noise on screen
I dropped my mate 7 (2gb ram/16gb rom) TL-09, so I got the screen replaced (they actually replaced they whole body of he phone). Everything worked fine at first but after a few mins of use I started noticing flickering noise on the screen. I never had this before (btw they reset my phone before giving it back). I'd really appreciate if you could help me out with this.

Hi there, i am using samsung galaxy s5 When the screen brightness is lowered to the lowest setting, the screen begins to flicker. Raising the brightness a few notches stops the flickering. I have not dropped the phone or exposed it to water – the issue started out of the blue and it’s driving me mad! This problem started last 3weeks when i flashed cm13 but i don't think that was the cause, i have tried screen overlay thing on devs options also tried gpu rendering things, turned off the adoptive display. All came out with nothing. Please help.

Well Mate..Its Actually A ROM Issue(Source Bug) I Think.. I Was Using CM13 On My MTK Device, A Week Before & Faced Screen Flickering Issue..And Reported It To The Developer Of ROM..He Fixed it in The Next Update.. Try Reporting this Bug to The Particular Developer of your device(S5) ,He Will Fix it ..

Thought so either but then installed the official rom back, same prolem persist. I am now on Revolution s5 custom rom but also the same problem.

After turning on power saving mode then turning it off, brightness is changing when opening some apps like dialer and google chrome. Similar to EMUI 4.1 when power mode was set to smart but it is happening even when off in EMUI 5.
Before turning on power saving mode for the first time, brightness was always constant.

It's a known issue and was reported over a month ago on b317.
It happens without ever using power saver on some phones

In emui 4.1, brightness is supposed to reduce in some apps whilst set to 'smart'
In emui 5 when you enabled power saving mode, it reduces the overall brightness. But when you turn it off, the overall brightness goes back to normal but now the brightness is acting like it did in emui 4.1 whilst set to smart. It reduces in some apps. Tried restarting phone but doing the same thing.
I'm using Chinese rom b368 released 2 days ago

Is there any fix? Really annoying me every time I open up chrome the brightness changes, then again when you exit it. How do bugs like this even get past testing, so obvious.
Also is your option for reducing screen resolution working? Doesn't seem to do anything for me, worked fine in 4.1. Now it just stays at 1920x1080 when I enable it instead of dropping to 1280x720

Not working, noticed that too!
This is probably due to the fact that EMUI 5 is still in it's Beta stage and has allot of bugs that need to be ironed out before it's commercial release.

On second thought I believe that screen brightness and connected power management is managed much worse then under EMUI 4. Power saving is accessible only through settings and it takes over screen brightness management completely. Besides it doesn't work well.

Hopefully the actual release of Nougat with fixes these problems.

Yep but that's no go indoors, personally I always leave brightness at around 60% unless its really bright outside

I'm on the very latest China release which is much more frequent than international and the bug is still there. Hopefully its not one of those bugs that people aren't reporting enough and will be stuck in it for months
Where can I fill bug reports. Those things are annoying.
Brand new phone, updated to nougat throu HiCare. Brightness in chrome, gmail and file manager changes every time when I open them. Also the powersaving option with lower resolution doesnt work for me either.

I have the same issue, did you fix it?
I realized that lowest brightness level in EUMI 5 is brighter than in EUMI 4.1 ??
Really stupid bug that shows how poor emui developers are. Still in latest chinese developer rom, no sign that developers are even aware of the problem. Don't know how so few little people are reporting this, must be blind.
It should only happen when power saving mode is enabled like it did in older emui.
It causes so many problems. I have screen set to my preferred brightness then it dims so much when I open browser that I have to increase brightness every time. The only work around is to use 100% brightness all the time, then it does not dim the screen but this just a stupid waste of battery and bad for your eyes indoors.

Yeah its still there on emui 5.0 and 5.1 i have mate 9 pro and p10 plus and both of them has the same issues

I have been using RR(7.1) for last 4 months. from 05/27 I have been updating to latest in between installed substratum and applied tweaked themes on it... all of a sudden I started observing below problems
1. Screen freezes on my OPO(can't able to unlock the screen forcing me to restart it).
2. Some letters from keyboard are not functioning properly, I thought some touch screen issues..installed some touch screen test apps it shows everything fine.
So I roll back to 05/27 but no use same problems, then clean flash - no use, reset the phone i.e, factory reset wiped everything.. and flashed latest Lineage 14.1 - but no use still I see same problems.
Switched to Tuga power - No use same problems
Finally decided to rollback to 6.0(Marshmallow) and flashed (sultan's CM13 latest) - Still I am facing the above mentioned problems. :crying:
NOTE : in between TWRP touch screen also behaving differently ??

If touchscreen has issues in TWRP also,then it's a hardware issue.

There're several touch testing apps on Play Store,but TWRP having issues also points hardware issues.
Touch screen issue
I have installed few screen test & dead pixel fix apps, I found that some vertical part(left side) is non responsive please refer the attachment. I assume that that is the reason for my screen freeze / flickering a regular intervals. so any suggestions to fix this issue?
Even when I keep on touching the screen that particular area is unresponsive as shown in the attached picture, please do suggest if it can be fixed through any software? or do I need to consult hardware technician ? if so how much would be the cost?

Actually there is no problem with display, but ' touch ' is not working properly on particular area so.. do I need to change the LCD Digitizer for that?

You can't separate digitizer and LCD,they're to be replace in combo.

A good quality LCD digitizer costs 2500, so if I sell the device how much will I get ? any idea on average price of OPO 64GB, 2.6 Years old with minor dents on corners ?

Bro, I just checked mobile exchange offers.. for our OPO exchange price was like 2700 Rs and Max 3000 RS. So thinking to sell.

I received my device back yesterday afer a screen replacement that took 15 days (the screen glass had broken but touch was working fine.)
I received the latest OOS update when I booted my device. After updating, my device has extreme latency issues wherein scrolling is causing taps, gestures work infrequently, and even fast typing is difficult.
Is this a software or a hardware issue? Anyway I can check?
From the looks of it, it's a hardware issue...The screen they replaced has some issue...it's best to speak to them and get it fixed again...

Received my device back. They hadn't calibrated the display after replacing it, which caused the issue.
