Honor V30 / V30 Pro , Google installation capability? - Honor View 30 / V30 Questions & Answers

I know that the Honor V30 / V30 Pro was launched and already have actual phone on display in shops in China.
I lived in USA for many years and now working in Shanghai.
Currently usinig the Honor V20 and loved it. Was planning to get the V30 Pro now, but uncertain about the capability of installing Google play store, framework and the other google apps etc.
I know that there are methods to install google and related apps onto the Huawei Mate 30 Series..... so, will the same installation methods work on the Honor V30 Pro also?
If that is the case, then I am getting the V30Pro for sure. I believe that once the phone is on sale, and more people gets their hands on the phone, the installation solution should come by in no time.
Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Help with the Mate 9 Pro in the US

Returning to Android after 2 years, and I've been doing a bit of research. I keep getting drawn to the Mate 9 Pro (Kirin 960, 6 GB, 128GB). I have some concerns though.
Will it work on all of the T-Mobile Bands (It seems yes, but I'd like to be sure)?
Can I use Google Play Services since it's a Huawei phone not made for the US Market?
Can someone confirm the navigation buttons can be made to be on screen only, and disable the physical capacitive keys?
Will Wi-Fi calling for T-Mobile work on Mate 9 Pro?
Best place to buy one that is reputable?

1. Yes.

3. I don't know.
4. No.

P40 pro vs S20+ 5G

The P40 pro got in multiple scenarios the better camera, the S20+ in some others. I do hate the vibrant colors, but safety features like safetynet are useful especially with some banking apps. Also widevine l3 is used. Does anyone know or it can run Netflix in fullhd with a widevine L1 patch? If this is the case we might also be able to patch Disney plus.
The widevine and safety are things stopping me from buying the P40 pro. Chromecast is handy, but I can live without it.
S20+ 5G arriving tomorrow so I'll think over it or I should return it or not. For normal situaties without harsh lightning the S20+ would be an okay camera, and as far as I know it would probably be better than the P30 pro.
Really only you can decide this.

you should just ask yourself if which is important for you if camera then p40 pro
if you heavily rely on google services and you dont have plans on finding alternative apps for it ''see the guide section on my comprehensive list of alternatives for google apps" then go for s20+ but if your only option is exynos then you may regret it because impossible you havent heard how bad exynos is on s20 compared to SD
netflix latest apk works currently but hd? it needs a subscription so you can use so havent heard any news who tried it. about banking apps you will need to ask an owner of p40 pro who resides on the same country you are like for example me on middle east all our banks is supported already here. disney+ no idea yet

Do you perhaps know if tap & pay works out of the box? I will try the phone and see what happens. Thankyou for the feedback.

tap & pay? you mean google pay? with or without gms it will never work.
Does anyone make phone calls? I gues not much
Still I have testet P40 Pro and S20+. I have to say P40 Pro is a way superior here. And I do not speak super condition. I often drive in unpopulated area, bad coverage.... P40 Pro is a clear winner here.

I actually meant HCE https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/connectivity/nfc/hce. So that you can use any banking app and emulate your credit card for example with it.

Do you mean bad coverage for the S20+ and not for the P40 Pro? I've also seen dual band GPS on the spec sheet. The hardware sounds very interesting. How about the battery life difference? My S20+ still has to get used to my usage to be optimized, but for now I only have like 4 hours SoT. This is pretty bad compared to my previous phone the LG G7 ThinQ. It's almost the same actually. Any more experiences comparing the 2 devices? I sadly couldn't get the 2 devices at the same time to compare them myself.:crying:
For the price itself I'm still comparing the phones to other devices like the P30 Pro since except for the colors and the better night recording and the 90Hz there isn't much of a difference. Probably slightly better mic and speakers. But or the difference is worth around 500 euro's more is debatable. If the bootloader could be unlocked it would've been an easier choice.
whosetheboss in youtube already made a battery comparison between the flagship currently in the market including p40,oneplus8,s20ltra,11promax do take note the s20 there is snapdragon, your sot could be bad because you have exynos, if you do have exynos just upgrade to another phone your just getting scammed by samsung.

Android Work Profile (AWP) with GMS hack

Hi All,
My company is enforcing Android Work Profile (AWP) where all work related apps and resources (Outlook, Microsoft Authenticator, Teams, OneDrive, etc) will be separated from the other apps.
With that being said, I have to install Microsoft Company Portal Application to do that. As soon as I start configuring the AWP on my Huawei Mate 30 5G, it checks for the certification of the Play Store which will definitely fail on my mobile because I have manually installed the Google Play Store although I did not get this notification before when Play Store was installed manually.
Will this AWP thing work with the hack that we use to install google play store manually?
appreciate your input
Hi, we use intune forced work profile but even with the GMS hack working, it would not complete the installation of AWP and eventually had to give up. It was the main reason I changed to a Mi 10 Ultra. Such a shame as my P40 Pro plus is, was, a beautiful phone.

for me if I go through the installation of AWP through the company portal, this apparently checks if the play store is certified or not, and then when it detects it is not certified , i start getting the certification error from the google play store and the company portal fails to complete the installation of AWP.
I am planning to move away as well from Huawei if there is no fix for this.
There will be no resolution, USA are not going to allow Huawei to access Google framework apps for sometime and now Huawei have spent so much money on their own OS, they are not going backwards. Unless Microsoft have worked with the new OS, then there is not going to anything we can do.
It is a shame these phones are superb but if you can't use GMS or unlock the bootloader, then there will not be any custom ROMs or development for them, so it's no good for me. I'm one of the people who need GMS for work like you, so with regret it was bye bye Huawei, hello Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra and the super EU ROM. Full GMS and of course, a full working, see screenshot attached. Good luck my friend.

Isn't Mi 10 ultra is just for China market? How did you get the GMS installed on it?
Yes, but there is a great community who transcribe the ROMs to an EU version for all Xiaomi mi and Redmi phones. Xiaomi are great in that they encourage custom ROMs and unlocking of bootloaders ( all though it has to be done through their servers and it makes you wait 168 hours between request and unlocking).
Mi10 Ultra is lacking a couple of European LTE radio bands like band 20 which I use for O2 but I don't miss it, 3G is just as fast as 4G where I live but my 3G is still good to watch streaming services as most are now using 4G. I bought mine from Wondamobile who put a smaller version of GMS on and it works well but once you flash the EU ROM, you get official GMS. And as the USA have no issues with Xiaomi, there is not much chance of any restrictions coming to them.

Upgrade phone

I own a P40 PRO with sideloaded GMS. But I´m tired of the lack of notifications vs lack of playstore and I'm thinking about selling it. I´m looking at Xiaomi 11 T. Do you think it is a downgrade? Thanks
Didn't use any other app store instead of Google Play Store ?
Aurora, for example ... or APKPure, APKMirror ...

I was on the same boat as you are and went for a s21 ultra. It was a downgrade as far as size, design, camera, battery are concerned, however I could not stand all this gms sideloading, no push notifications, no nfc payments etc..
Well, I "upgraded" for the xiaomi 11 t... After a week, I came back to P40 PRO, now without any google apps. I took this decision because the camera is incomparable and I use it a lot. I love the P40 PRO and I´ll stuck here. This is perfectly usable without GMS, in my case.

Applications to use Google like Gspace, Gbox..... are just a temporary solution. Slow, draining battery, no push notifications........ Good solution is still Install Native Google.
Install native google huawei & Fix Gmail, Facebook, Messenger notifications.... Huawei Mate 50 Series 100% Working
This method is for China Domestic Version Harmony OS 3.0 Tested working well with Mate 50, Mate 50pr and Mate 40pr. You can try it on other phones with Harmony OS3.0 Hello everyone! Huawei Mate 50 Series is undeniably one of the best phones...
