Reinstall stock recovery on a PX6 - MTCD Software Development

I have a Dasaita MAX6 with TWRP recovery.
I would like to reinstall my stock recovery for two reasons:
1) I'm having issues with my device (like freezing or rebooting in the first few minutes after car start) and I want to go back to a full stock software components
2) I get a signature verification failure installing latest system (2019-10-31) with TWRP, while other versions install just fine
Is it possible to go back to stock recovery?
Where do I get the correct recovery.img?
Sorry if this has been already answered, I have not found a solution to my issues yer.
Thank you,
Francesco Comi

I had the same issue with Dasaita Max6 PX6, after installing the Malaisk Rom. Untill now i didn't solve the issue, every stock Rom it give me the signature verification error 21. So i bought a new SOM PX6 and it work again. What it means TWRP?
Do you have any recovery.IMG? or which one version worked for you?
Thanks

Twrp have one big disadvantage - it can't flash MCU's.
So it is useless for android radio.
BTW Hal9k has released his Android 9 Rom.

I dont understand what has Malaysk rom has to do with twrp? It dosent flasg twrp and you can revert to stock firmware easily. Also its interesting the errors you describe, I hav px6 dasaita, with Malaysk rom and have none of the above mentioned issues.
It might all be casued becasue you flashed twrp maybe? I doubt that those issue have to do something with the rom

I remember I also could not go back to stock after installing Malaysk ROM. What it helped me was to move update.zip to sdcard and installed from there. I run stock firmware for a few days and then went back to Malaysk ROM. Sometimes you had to format SD card a few times, mine did not accept for the first few times but then the same file I transferred from another laptop and it worked fine.

Unfortunately I don't have any recovery.img.
TWRP is a custom recovery that got installed automatically by Malaysk installer.
I'm not sure that the cause is TWRP or Malaysk, but I have been unable to resolve the issue.
What is the cost of a SOM PX6? what is it exactly? Where do you buy one?
At the moment I have uninstalled the MAX6 and reinstalled stock radio because sometimes it freezed and I had to unplug the power cable to make it work again.
Hope someone have a solution.

The cost of SOM of PX6 from Dasaita is about 150 USD. I have ordered one and everything now work good, but i'm scared to install the Malaisk ROM, insfact i'm still using the standard ROM that came with the radio.

Ah okay. So... Thanks for nothing.

Hi, I m in 'same' situation, I have 'brick' my PX6 coreboard.
I arrive to start the recovery, or "flash?" a ROM, with the method of PX5 sdcard (in MAPs slot).
But I cannot find the good way to get all working.
I have find two methods to get recovery screen:
1) (THE BAD WZY I THINK !), when the SOM boot in "updating", remove power cable, and at the next reboot I m into recovey.
2) (Think beter way), create with the PX5 OS Configurations Tools\SD_Firmware_Tools.exe an "SD Boot".
Put the SD in the "MAPs" SD slot, and power on, I get the recovery screen.
For informations, in MY case, before crash my ROM, I had (hourra !) an backup (with dd if=/dev/block/platform/by-name/XXX of=/path/to/external_storage/XXX.img). I have tried to replace files (with https://roc-rk3328-cc.readthedocs.io/en/latest/fw_pack_unpack.html method) but not sucesss...
Any ideas ?

TWRP not flashing anything other than B180

Hello Everyone
Thanks in advance for reading this. I'm having another issue here which has me stumped.
As mentioned in my other thread, I'm having issues with the wifi hotspot on this B180 ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/development/rom-stock-b162-rooted-t3336931
So I tried to flash other roms available in the forum through TWRP (Wipe then Install) however whenever I try to flash any other ROM; TWRP just boots me back into the main menu.
So Now i'm flashed back into the above ROM and the WIFI issue still persists.
Am I doing something wrong here to make TWRP not flash any other ROM other than the one mentioned above?
Thank you again for all the help
Eddie
If you're trying to flash B320 over your B180 with TWRP that won't work properly.
Grab the correct firmware package for your device here and flash the stock recovery for your device (you can put TWRP back later)
Store the update.app file in sdcard/dload/update.app
Dial *#*#2846579#*#* and choose option 4 for software upgrade
Once successfully updated to B320 you can then install the latest version of TWRP 3.0.2 for EMUI4.1 and reap the benefits
Thank you @MuPp3t33r
@MuPp3t33r I just tried doing that and all it does is boot me into TWRP. Am I missing something? Thanks

At which point does it send you back to TWRP? Was it when you dialled the number to upgrade? If so that means you haven't flashed the stock recovery yet. You will need to use fastboot to flash recovery.img from the stock rom in the same way you originally flashed TWRP.
The recovery.img can be extracted using Huawei Update Extractor if you don't have it, otherwise let me know and I can upload a copy for you...
@MuPp3t33r I figured it out, I used SRK tool to flash OEM Recovery then flashed to 180 then to 320. I then went back and flashed TWRP 3.0.2 and then wiped and tried to install the following ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/development/rom-simply-google-t3311395
TWRP keeps saying "Zip FIle is Corrupt!"
Update: got it fixed. figured out it was a corrupted SD Card! Thanks everyone

Thought I was doing so well; tablet won't boot to OS

Hey folks; I'm hoping I can get some advice or pointers, or maybe just a slap upside the head with something I've missed.
I have one of the original Shield tablets, and played around with it quite a lot, installing various custom ROMs from the marvelous directions I've found here. When the battery thing happened, I submitted the required info and happily received my new tablet. The original was rooted and customised still, kill-switch averted, and I had two working tablets. I gave the new stock one to my wife.
But then, about three months ago, I was playing with mine again installing a newer ROM than the one I was using (I *think* I was going from an older Bliss rom to one of the Cyanogen), and ... Something Happened (tm). The tablet rebooted in the middle of everything, and now won't boot to an image.
I'm on Windows 10 now, and had some fun getting the drivers working, but they seem to. I can communicate with the tablet through Fastboot, but ADB doesn't see it. I've flashed several versions of TWRP to the tablet, and can boot into that recovery - both through Fastboot and the tablet's power+vol-dn buttons. I've used TWRP to flash several different ROMs, and it *appears* to work (there are no errors), but when I reboot the tablet .... nada. Nothing but the Nvidia boot screen for days.
So now... what have I missed? I'm a little reluctant to flash a stock ROM, but I'm at a loss. I used to have more time to fiddle and figure, and I'm afraid that my impatience is going to kill the thing.
Format system and data see if that works
You need to have the latest bootloader to run the latest roms.

so you wan t your "burning" tablet set again stock?
Did you read about "recovery images" for shield tablet?
If fastboot is working you can flash the recovery image and all will update to the latest(blob, system, boot, etc)
flash latest twrp for shieldtablet.
after that use the nomoreota.zip to prevent the software brick from nvidida

No, I don't want it stock at all, I was just worried that was my only option to get this thing to respond again. I was running BlissPop v.somethingorother, but wanted to update. That's when things went awry.
Right, well it looks like I've got this thing going. I could flash TWRP 3.1.0-0, but not any 3.1.1. Cyanogenmod 12 worked. Reading up a little more (it got slow at work for a couple of days...) I flashed the firmware to 5.0, and could now install TWRP 3.1.1-1! Then I could install (in this case) Lineage 14.1, which *almost* worked. It booted, but there's no wifi.
Then I found a suggestion - I think it was on these forums somewhere - and restarted. Wiped all data again, flashed Cyanogenmod 12, no gapps. Restarted, checked everything including wifi, and is good. Rebooted back into recovery, performed a factory reset, then installed Lineage 14.1 and gapps. When it rebooted, everything is working!
So. Firmware. Huh.
Thanks all.

do not know if you need the bootloader(blob) from nougat to boot up, that lafester told you. but that sounds plausible. skooter says something from re-formating. so if you tried that all and nothing changes? cache and data partition you wiped also, so it has to be work for my understanding.
went always stock, so can t help you..
but you can use recovery images > twrp > bliss/linage. no need to boot up stock?

I experienced the issue of not working capacitive buttons myself right after I unlocked the bootloader and setup my phone again. After flashing RROS the buttons are working again so maybe it's just a strange behavior of EMUI.
Ah ok, so the capacitive buttons are started to work again when you switched to rros, so not with this rom? On the rros thread in turn is written that home button is not recognized?

Yes they did for me and I don't know about this Rom, I only had that issue on stock EMUI Rom. Maybe they do work here too, because it's a Custom Rom - I don't understand this strange behavior of it myself. Maybe another person who has tested this Rom can answer that question.
The not working home button is a known issue of the RR-OS, it doesn't have anything to do with the capacitive button issue.
Hmm really wierd, but thats exactly why i didnt flash a custom rom for now. I want to have a rom where the main features a working as they should, some smaller bugs are not the problem. My last device was a xperia z3c the roms there were really good, to bad honor does not provide the hole code for the modders. If the Home button (just the hardware one?) does not work you cant use fingerprint unlock also?

RROS is the only bigger Custom Rom where the FPS is working (on LineageOS and AOSPA it doesn't). The not working home button isn't that big of an issue for me because there are a lot of other ways to get to the homescreen when you've got root - or even set a fingerprint gesture so it will more or less behave as it should.
But we are kind of off topic here. If you want to, we can continue about that on the RROS thread.
Nice effort with the firmware, you should grab a friend with English skills though! So you're able to help people needing proper advice on how to flash it, and also your "cancel" buttons will actually read "cancel" and not "CANCLE"... that said I'm interested hence will wait for next version... Maybe.
Cheers.

I confirm this issue. And I think the capacitive buttons doesn't work only after the first reboot next the unlocking. After a second reboot I think the buttons worked again, but I'm not 100% sure.

Update 8 to 8
1. Download the phone to the fastboot mode using the volume buttons "minus" and the cable usb
2. Run the bat file Replace_Recovery. in the HWOTA8 folder to flash the twrp of the recovery.
3. Disconnect the USB cable, use the volume plus buttons and power to boot into the TWRP.
4. Create the "HWOTA8" folder on the sdcard.
5. Put the archive hwota8_update.zip, STF_RECOVERY8_NoCheck.IMG and the three update archives (update.zip, update_data_public.zip and update_all_hw.zip) in the "HWOTA8" folder.
6. Install the hwota8_update.zip archive on the TWRP. The phone will reboot and install the update automatically.
Rollback from 8 android to 7
1. Place the updated firmware files 7 of the androids update.zip, update_data_public.zip and update_all_hw.zip in the HWOTA8 / repack folder.
2. Run the bat file "repack" to repackage the zip files. We will prepare our firmware
3. Create the folder "HWOTA8" on the SD card. (Without quotes)
4. Place the archive hwota8_update.zip, STF_RECOVERY8_NoCheck.IMG (from the HWOTA8 folder) and the three update archives (update.zip, update_data_public.zip and update_all_hw.zip (from the repack folder after repackaging)) to the "HWOTA8" folder on the map.
5. Boot into the TWRP
6. Install the hwota8_update.zip file which lies in the HWOTA8 folder on the CD-ROM to the TV. The phone will reboot into the recovery pool and install the update automatically.
7. After the rollback, boot into the drain of the recovery and make a reset

Px5 TWRP

Hi! Anybody managed to run TWRP on PX5?
Apparently not enough interest, even on PX3. I don't know why though, with a custom recovery comes custom rooted ROMs. I really want to get LineageOS on my HU instead of this gimped android that we have to endure.
Pretty easy to do if you really want to. Just search for porting TWRP for Rockchip. Not sure your going to get much out of t though. Will lose MCU upgrade option and our rom is pretty custom to communicate with MCU

I got one built for my old HU and used to flash back to update MCU when needed so yeah it can work.
It does make it easier for backing up and restoring roms and thats what I used it for the most. Might be worth trying again now I know sdcard recovery works and have the emergency reflash via USB on the SOM available. Just need to be brave enough to port one.
I have a px3 so it doesn't apply, but a couple of the versions from HERE booted for me. They're not very functional, but at least they boot. Might be worth looking into.

Flashfire. You can also make a backup of your stock recovery first, which you should definitely do.
I don't see how there's a PX5 build. I submitted for the PX3 and was denied, reason: Rockchip boards are not yet supported.
Just for info. Rockchip is supported

Yea, but the TWRP builder team does not support Rockchip boards. They're saying that whatever method they use to build TWRP (I think they use a script) doesn't work with Rockchip. Those guys over at Freaktab built their own TWRP builds from source, and modified to work with Rockchip partitions and properly read from the SD card.
Basically what it's going to come down to, is for someone with the proper knowledge to build TWRP specifically for the PX3 and PX5.

No OS installed in TWRP

Hi guys
I was trying some of custom rom on my OP6 and I wanted to go back to Oxygen OS. So i did a clean installation with system wipe and i flashed the last full OTA update. But since i can't boot to system anymore, TWRP always displays that there is no OS installed despite the fact that I've tried several rom . Is this the first time it's done this to me how can I fix it?

The best suggestion I can give you is to flash stock oos with TWRP, reboot to stock recovery, without flashing anything else, wipe data from stock recovery and startup system.. if it is working you can flash back TWRP and magisk if you need it
Just be careful because at your point is easy to lose all of your stored data

If you wipe system, then flash oos ROM, TWRP will think there is no os. You can just ignore and boot.
Wiping system then flashing any time will make twrp display "no os installed" it does this because it hasn't created files for twrp to check if you have a ton installed. Flashing twrp then rebooting to twrp fixes it.
Reboot to stock recovery?

The best suggestion I can give you is to flash stock oos with TWRP, reboot to stock recovery, without flashing anything else, wipe data from stock recovery and startup system.. if it is working you can flash back TWRP and magisk if you need it
Just be careful because at your point is easy to lose all of your stored data

Hi, need a little bit of support, since I'm new to this as well. I was in a working OOS open beta 25/28, but then I think I flashed the wrong zip (OOS 9.0.9?), and I was not able to boot to system. It kept going to "bootloader unlocked" screen and custom recovery. Currently in TWRP blu_spark 3.3.1-x v. 9.109, and it's showing me no OS installed when I attempt to reboot. I haven't rebooted to system yet.
All the folders in my /sdcard is gibberish... if I try to push a file to it, it says "Required key not available." I did remove all security/passwords from my phone before doing any updates/backups.
I completed a wipe cache/dalvik/system via TWRP, and flashed the OOS OTA stable Android 10 zip downloaded directly from OnePlus Support. Considering this situation, do you still think it's safe for me to reboot to system? Then how do I get to stock recovery from there--is that by holding down the buttons?

No, your internal storage Is like trash cause the last rom you flashed has older security patch than oos10. Your device Is now encrypted and wont boot to system. I Guess you have to erase all via MSN tool or fastboot signed rom. Even if you wiped what mentioned above, your problem still be the data.
Fastboot method?

Thank you for replying. I'm relieved that you know of a couple methods to try.
Is using "Format Data" in TWRP an option for dealing with the encryption??
For the MSN tool, can I use this one? Tried looking around, but it's unclear. "[TOOL] MsmDownloadTool V4.0 International (Oxygen OS 5.1.5)" https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...wnloadtool-v4-0-international-t3798892/page10
I would be more comfortable with using fastboot, but am I at any risk of having lost fastboot, or can I just turn off my device from TWRP right now and hold down the buttons to get there? Afraid to move out of TWRP right now, in case I can't get back. I do have twrp-3.3.1-18-enchilada-Q-mauronofrio.img that I can run from fastboot if needed.
By "signed rom," do you mean I can simply flash one of the zips here from fastboot? "[OnePlus 6][ROM][OTA][Oxygen OS] Mirrors for official Oxygen OS ROMs and OTA updates" https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/oneplus-6-mirrors-official-oxygen-os-t3792244
Thanks again.

I hardbricked my device about 10 times and i was able to recovery It even from a blank screen. Btw format data Will erase all your data but also the internal storage. About fastboot dont be afraid, go under twrp reboot section and reboot to bootloader. Then go under xda op6 guide section and search for mirrors for fastboot rom guide by Mauronofrio. He pushed my ass out the **** a lot of time.
P.s. Sorry but I dunno how to paste a link via xda app. Yes, ik! It's a vert newbie thing.

That's awesome, I'm starting to grasp how much of a genius Mauronofrio is, after so many people referencing his work.
In his guide, he says, "These ROMs can't be used to update or downgrade your phone but just to restore your phone, so don't use them to come back to oreo or to update from oreo to pie." This may be a dumb question, but how do I know which zip/OOS version to flash, when I don't have a functioning OS on my phone?

I talked with Mauronofrio in pm and he said me that you could solve your issue simply flash the ROM you want and format data after flash that one. Remember that your internal will be wiped but it would happen in any scenario we talked.
Magisk, boot img?

That worked! And starstruck that you were able to check that with him. I flashed Mauronofrio's fastboot ROM for 10.3.2 and it rebooted (WOW). I clicked through the Google setup pages and checked that my data and wifi worked.
I then went back into fastboot, booted M's twrp img, fomatted data, and then installed twrp-3.3.1-x_blu_spark_v9.109_op6.zip, rebooted into recovery.
Then I think I made a mistake, because I installed Magisk-v20.4.zip. It succeeded, but now I can't boot into system anymore. Is it too late to flash the 10.3.2 boot.img?

No. Just flash stock boot image if magisk broke something.

I ended up following the guide to Magisk Root without TWRP for OnePlus 6 Oxygen OS https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/patched-boot-image-magisk-16-7-beta-t3818853 since it was referenced by Mauronofrio's post for having issues getting his TWRP to work with latest Magisk.
Someone posted a patched boot.img for 10.3.2, so now I'm rooted without TWRP. Priorities. Now all I need is for special characters and emojis to work Will keep an eye on other threads.
I'm learning a lot, thanks so much for all your help. You pointed me in the right direction when I was not sure what the hell to do!
