Hi all,
during the past week i noticed that my today screen looks strange at least once a day.
When i close an application, sometimes the today screen moves up some pixels and remains there. The lowest part of the window of the last used application can be seen then at the bottom of the today screen (in the example pic it's the phone dialpad).
The only solution is to reset the device.
This strange behavior happens regardless of the application that was opened.
Is there anybody out there having a clue ? Thank you.
Regards,
Scholler
it looks like you've installed some sort of "task bar" application. Either uninstall that app or disable that app from displaying information on the bottom of the today screen.

This is a known issue with a certain release of Raphaels.
There was a thread discussing this over in the general section.

Hi all,
until now i did not find a solution for this problem... and i did not find the thread you mentioned...
Is there anything that could help me solving this ?
Thank you.
I found this page
www[dot]wikitude[dot]org/enupdate-samsung-galaxy-3
...about problems with the Samsung Galaxy (not Galaxy S!) compass. The problems sound exactly like what I'm seeing with my Captivate (i.e. tilting the phone around any axis causes the compass reading to change erratically).
This page is a year old. Not a good sign, huh?
The test app on that page runs fine on my Captivate, but I don't know how to interpret the output.
(Apologies for the [dot]s in the URL above...apparently this forum is really zealous about keeping us newbies from posting links!)
Hey, just curious if you updated your phone to Froyo? Asking because it looks like the similar issue occurs on HTC Desire after OTA update to android 2.2 so wonder if there is some bug with new OS, not depended on the device type... Anyway take a look at the following thread in order to get more info:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747398
Thanks for the reply. No, I haven't upgraded to Froyo or done any ROM flashing. I've rooted, that's all. Rooting was the first thing I did (I won't put up with no sideloading), and I didn't notice the compass trouble until later. I'm new to Android, so after I learn about backups I may do a factory reset and see if things are any different.
Try this to calibrate the compass:
Find a level table. On the phone go to Settings, Display, Horizontal Calibration. Put the phone face down on the table with the lower part of the phone hanging over the edge. Look under the phone and press the "calibrate" button keeping the phone face-down. Don't move the phone. It takes about 3 seconds to calibrate.
It fixed the compass for me the first time, but you may have to try it a couple of times.

and when i tuch on button , then see it correct like this:

Similar problem - but it went away - thankfully.
Hi,
I had a similar problem. Seemed to start when I added a particular widget (forget which one now!). Once I removed the widget and did a phone power-cycle: the problem went away.
Looked to me like a memory problem - aka some application overwriting the screen buffer.
thanks
i think , i have this problem.when i add this widget , this issue appeared
but also google search bar widget has this issue too
EDIT:
i remove widget and then add it , now issue went . i dont know it appearing later again

I am having similar problems with my screen. I thought I was the only one. I found that once I removed the widget and replaced it, the issue would go away. The problem only seems to arise on the panels immediately left and right of the home panel. I have had my phone since the 15th and the problem cropped up 3 times so far (including today). I can live with this minor inconvenience until I root my phone.
I'm going to buy S6 but I would only go for the unlocked/non-carrier version so I'm still waiting. During the time, I try S6/edge several times at Bestbuy and did find something very strange when I swipe the screen left or right. I didn't realize it's the problem(actually I was thinking my finger was too dry) until I tried the S5 right next to it and didn't find anything wrong.
It happens when you swipe left back to Homescreen from magazine app(Flipboard integrated). It's playing animation and don't let you do anything during this animation. So basically if you swipe left twice quickly, it is supposed to go to the second screen on the right but it didn't. That works fine on S5 but not on S6. On S6 the second swipe(or any extra swipe after that but before the animation is over) didn't work and didn't react to your finger until the animation is played completely. I am not sure if it's the problem of display phones or a general problem.
Did anyone find the same problem?
Thx
A general issue, even brought up to attention by several pro-reviewers. Really lame.....

Samsung is really bad doing or designing these programs...
So the quick story is that i got my phone's glass fixed but i noticed that the content is a little to the left. I wanted to know is there is a way to move the ''margins'' i guess just a little to the right by tweaking a setting or with an app.
Also take the device to the store is not an option because of the distance.
