New Sirui 18mm lens and older 18mm and 60mm lenses - Google Pixel 4 XL Accessories

So I've had the original 18mm and 60mm lenses by Sirui for nearly two years and since the Pixel 4 XL doesn't have a built-in ultra wide angle lens, the 18mm will still be useful for me to continue using. The 60mm lens I rarely used but it's nice to have and combined with the built-in telephoto lens, it's nearly 16x total zoom.
These are compatible with the Moment case however they do fit extra snug. So tight that it does seem to have scraped the mounting on the case but I don't think it'll get any worse.
With the new case I decided to order the 18mm version 2:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KD3B8FM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Nice it came with a case but it's laughably huge compared to my Moment case. I think it's because it a repurposed 3 lens kit case. The red lens is the original version 1. Rubber caps for the front and back are a nice touch.
Here's the unboxing pics:

And here's the sample pics.
1. Standard
2. Built-in 2x telephoto
3. Sirui 60mm portrait lens. Not quite 2x zoom.
4. Built-in 8x zoom. 2x optical plus 4x super res zoom.
5. Nearly 16x zoom. 8x built-in plus Sirui portrait lens. Not bad!
6. Old Sirui 18mm wide angle lens. Notice the vignetting (dark corners)
7. New Sirui 18mm wide angle lens. No more vignetting!
I didn't do screen caps from video recording like I did in my original review (https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-2-xl/accessories/moment-photo-case-paired-sirui-wide-t3773470) but the wide angle is amazing for video too as there's a decent crop when shooting video with the lens.

That's pretty impressive!

I used my google store credit towards moment wide angle and was gifted a moment anamorphic today. Definitely excited about playing around with these.

Do you have the macro lens as well and can post some example pictures? Macro is much worser with Pixel 4 XL compared to Pixel 3 XL.

Thanks, the images display fine on this post. Looking good!

Thanks so much for the comparison. I had the 18mm V2 and loved it on my old Pixel XL. Excited to get my Pixel 4XL Moment case.
I just grabbed the fisheye and tele as well. I got the fisheye and was disappointed in the packaging - the lens came loose and was scraping against the clear polycarbonate box!! It actually left a substantial amount of scratching on the case, but the lens itself was fine.
I also wish they had the rubber front+rear lens cap that the new 18mm comes with! My fisheye only came with a hard plastic front cap, and nothing for the rear. I had to 3D print a rear cap for it. I contacted Sirui USA to buy just the lens cap, but they ignored me since I am from Canada
For those looking to buy, DHPhoto and a few other sellers on Ali have them for around $45 Cad or so with the store coupons. Cheaper than Amazon if you can wait!

I've just picked up 4 of the older version of the lenses on eBay with a hard case for a bargain. I was going to buy the new version but I got 4 if the older ones for just a little more than 2 of the new so couldn't resist. I've got the 60mm, 18mm macro and fish eye. My only complaint is the little plastic caps for the bottom of each lens keep falling off. Does this happen to everyone's? I wish they had the rubber ones from the 2nd gen.

My version 1 of the 18mm and 60mm didn't come with small caps for attachment side. I would still recommend getting the version 2 18mm because of no more vignetting and sell the version 1.

Wide + Macro Lens for sensation.

whats up guys?
I just saw my friend and he bought additional Lens for his Iphone.
Will this be good on Sensation?
www.ebay.com/itm/3in1-Fisheye-Lens-...?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item2ebd9e2fea
BTW this is what the seller wrote:
iPhone 3G / 3GS / 4G / 4S (see notes below), and other cellphone,Notebook / Netbook (eg. Mac / Macbook / eee-pc / laptop),
iPod Nano 5th, iPod Nano 6th and other cellphone such as blackberry etc.
Portable and detachable, you can take photo with your devices at any time.
Work on most type of mobile phone that are not bigger than 13mm diameter.
High Clarity: Made of high-class glass.
Strong: Made of top-grade Aluminuim.
Color: Silver.
Applicable to any devices.
The Flash Light will be blocked when the lens is in use.
Thanks!
Not sure if its actually good on Sensation..but here's a review of it and the actual product site.

-Edit-
From the FAQ from Photojojo
Will these lenses fit on my phone?
Sure! These lenses really work with most phones. If the area around your camera lens is relatively flat, and you can stick the little metal ring to it, our new camera phone lenses will work on your phone, no problem!

What about my iPhone 3G/S? The back is kind of curved - will the lenses still work?
The lenses will work with the iPhone 3G/S - but not perfectly. The curve of the phone will cause the edge of the fisheye and wide angle lens to be seen in your photos. The macro lens won't have this issue. You can easily crop the edge of the lens out of your photos with your favorite photo-editing program! Photoshop app, ftw.
quoted this because of the curve question

Can I use these lenses with a case on my phone?
You totally can! As long as the case is tight against the phone it should be fine. Thicker cases may cause slight light leaks but it'll still work!

Click to collapse
What is the size of that little ring? How many of them do I get?
The diameters of the ring are 13.06mm (outer) and 9.38mm (inner). If your phone's lens has a smaller diameter, it'll work great! Each lens comes with two iPhone 4/4S rings and two all-other-phone-compatible rings

Thanks Alot!
I will order this, if it wont work, my sister will get a gift for her Iphone
It won't work
Seriously, it won't
It probably will fit. From what I can make out it comes with an adhesive metal ring which fits over the hole for your camera. The lenses are magnetic so attach to the ring. As long as the adhesive ring fits it should be fine. I'm going to buy my girlfriend one for her sgs2 next week and will report back on whether or not it also fits the Sensation.
"Top grade aluminium"... held on by a magnet? I smell a rat.
Also, reguardless of the fact that you won't actually be using the phone to make a call whilst the lens is attached, I am curious to know the effect sticking magnets and large lumps of metal to your phone has on your signal strength.
This arrived yesterday so I thought I'd update. The piece that attaches to the phone is a small metal ring with an adhesive back. Although it fits the sgs2 much better than the Sensation, it still certainly fits the Sensation really well and doesn't feel like it would easily come off. The package came with around 7 of the metal adhesive rings so it's not a problem if one does happen to fall off. The magnets on the lenses are very strong - I think they may even be rare earth magnets - so they attach to the ring really well and feel quite sturdy when they're on. I didn't have much time to check the quality of the lenses but the macro seemed fantastic and the fish eye quite good.

Camera lens protector?

As we all know, the camera lense is not the strongest one around and it needs a cover or protector of some kind. I'm wondering if there is such a thing available anywhere, or any other alternatives on how to protect the lens? Thanks!

mine didnt come with one though.. i ordered/received mine like 3 weeks ago? not a big deal since my camera bezel scratches arent too noticeable.

Looks great but I'm having trouble sorting out exactly what this "Camera lens bezel skin" does. This covers the lens bezel. Is the idea that it keep the round back circle around the lens (the bezel) from scratching or does it also offer some protection to the camera lens itself? Thanks.
Im guessing the area around the camera glass. A lot of people have been noticing how easy it is forbthat area to get scuffed up. But i would think this would also help a little with the actual camera lens from getting scratched since the skin would prob lift it off any flat surface a little.

But this doesn't cover the lens (only the bezel), which is what the OP was asking about. Are there any products out there that protect the lens.

Yeah lol. I just re-read the op. I guess I had it in my mind the outter bezel is what he was referring to since I've seen more people complain about that area.
Only thing I've seen is this. The reason lens protection is so hard to come by is because it can obscure pictures. Especially anything with an adhesive back (like the one i linked). The residue can cause images to look "hazy" especially in low light situations.
My lens glass has cracked on both my G4 and my V10 and I blame the poor design of having it protrude from the rest of the back. It should have been the opposite. Unfortunately this causes very ugly light streaks in dim settings when taking a picture. The only thing I've found to remedy this by buying a replacement which was surprisingly cheap. $10. However, the auto-focus and macro capabilities never seem to be the same afterwards. Sigh.

Hello,
I am just about to order an H961N from Ebay and since my main priority for it will be it's camera, I intend to protect it using a PDair leather Flip Case.
http://www.pdair.com/index.php/lg-v10-flip-wallet-case.html
As you will see this case fully protects the rear of the camera but still allows it to be used in a hurry when required.
Having used one of these on my Nokia N8 for the last 5 years (yes really!), I know it is both well made and effective. My N8 still looks like new and takes good photos
albeit not now up to V10 standards.

I can't find anything about the poor quality, being too small is not about quality, the buyer just got the protector from the wrong seller, I got 2 set from two different seller, one being too small, I think the seller just wanted to sell them and sold it as a V10, the second set is the correct size, fit's exactly within the size of the V10 lens.
have anyone tried this one? a little expensive i guess http://www.amazon.com/Martin-Fields-Overlay-Screen-Protector/dp/B0198T4AA4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1463978276&sr=8-1&keywords=lg+v10+camera+protector
Just get an Obliq case. It's very functional, looks super cool and is just high enough to protect the bezel without obstructing the camera function
eh, it looks like it would have no real protction. i dropped my gs5 and broke the glass that covered the lense. i would love to have some kind of extra glass screen to go over it.

Glass screen protector

Got a cheap glass screen protector online, once applied 4 edges don't stick properly like others, but it comes with a little brush and some kind of oil/adhesive once you brushed it the gap is gone. Final result looks pretty good, let's see how long it will last.

I saw that too. If it's like the Ozero ones I got for the HTC U11, there won't be any adhesive over the screen itself just along the black edges. However since there's is barely any bezel I wonder how they will do it. Keep us posted!

I ordered the Orzero and have glue only on the edges. Is working fine so far, and I didn't lose nothing in terms of display size.
EDIT. The screen protector started to coming loose today. The glue seems to start to become weak on the top part of the screen and is lifting badly. I will send an email to the vendor at Amazon for return.
Was working beautifully the first 2 days I don't know what happened.

Yup the cheap one doesn't work as it starts to come off near the edge. Don't buy, lol

Not sure if it'll work with this phone but on my PXL and the Supershieldz TGSP, I put 2 stacks of copy paper on it after I applied to apply pressure on the tgsp. It actually worked great and I didn't have a halo affect. However, the protector was nowhere near the edges. Shot in the dark but hey, wouldn't hurt to try. Nothing to use except the time u wont be able to use the phone when you have something heavy on it. Shouldn't have to worry about it breaking since it's ceramic. Lol I'm going to try that once I get my replacement w/ the Orzero 3pk. Will return it or just ask for a refund if it doesn't work.
Ok I got the updated Ozero installed and it's mostly nice. Fit wise it's perfect and their is zero halo. However, and it may be from as mentioned above with the adhesive only on the edges I have a chromatic aberration section right in the middle. Not sure if it will do down or maybe the glass or my phones glass is curved slightly. We'll see. But fit wise it's close to perfect. Plus you get 3 of them.
Sent from my PH-1 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
From my person experience any tgsp w/o adhesive on the actual display area will never look as nice as ones w/ the adhesive in that area. I have one such installed on my LG X Charge and while it works well, you know there's a space between the tgsp and the display. There is also the rainbow effect you get occasionally. I'm still definitely going to try the Ozero, as it's better than nothing! Lol

Yeah unfortunately it's inherent to these types of protectors where there's no adhesive over the screen. Hopefully someone will come out with a full cover like this but with adhesive on the screen. Lamshaw makes one for the HTC U11 and I love it.
I do have a question. Does the Orzero leave fingerprints like crazy? The Orzero I had for my U11 I swear had no oleophobic coating at all. It was awful.

I really don't think it is bad with fingerprints. Pics. You can see the chromatic area in a couple of them. In certain lighting it's not noticable, others a lot though.

yup that's exactly how it looks like on my LG X Charge w/ the same type of tgsp. Again, it's better than being naked. Right now my replacement is naked w/ only a skin on the back. The Ozero isn't available until next week so unfortunately going to have to wait...

Oh did you try placing something heavy on it to flatten it as much as possible, that may help.
I remember a trick back in the old old Otterbox days where someone took a dab of baby powder on a cloth and wiped the inside of the screen protector with it and that prevented it from sticking to the screen causing the newton rings.

Ooh.. haha nice
Going to try this. No joke my glass on my camera cracked/shattered on my 6P AND my girlfriends iPhone X .... We both have cases and screen protectors, but the only damn thing that broke was the actual glass on the cameras back side.
Typically cases give enough depth so the camera bump is fine. I'll wait and see how the cases fit.

When I tried the link in the OP for the Camera Lens Protector on Amazon, it said it would not be avaialble until November. I always like to have a protector on hand when I get the phone. I found this one that says it will ship tomorrow:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YJLCQTJ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=AMDA1A063UJM1&psc=1
I can't attest to the quality of this one or the one in the OP because I have never used either - but I assume they will be equally good.

I guess we will find out - I am guessing there won't be a difference - but I could be wrong.
I gotchu on the Orzero one that ships with Prime now. https://www.amazon.com/Orzero-Anti-...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=9EB5TB4Q0DEM4Q8FNYP2
While this may be a good thing for some, I will pass.
I have every Android device I've ever owned, and that's only 5, and the only one I've ever damaged was the BIONIC. All the rest very never damaged in any way, and the BIONIC had LCD damage but no cracked glass at all. I started with the original Motorola A855 Sholes aka the DROID (OG). so, in 10 years I've had 5 devices, 6 if you include the S III that a friend of mine gave me when the BIONIC batteries started going belly up, before I got the Nexus 6. So it's not like I use a device for 2 months and replace it - I use them for 2+ years.
I used a screen protector on the DROID for all of 3 weeks - and said never again. I've not had a screen protector since, nor a camera lens protector ever. And I feel no need to start now.
If I did, I'd review this - but not gonna get one to review and not use lol.
I wonder if the screen protector for the GoPro session 4/5 will fit.. it looks close just eyeballing it .

Good point, didn't think about that. Measured one of my session screen protectors and it's just a tad too big anyway.
The Pleson one is trash and it's not even glass. There's a hue and the flash makes it even worse. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YJLCQTJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 stay away from this one.

Something tells me the Orzeo in op is also same quality. The description says TPU+glass which sounds like just plastic. I messed up the install on mine so I tried breaking it. It broke in half without any spider pattern so I assume it's pure plastic.

At this point it seems pointless to get one of these and just to use a case to keep the lens off any surface and you should be good. That and keep your pockets clean of debris.
I just ordered a dbrand skin with a piece to go on the camera bump to protect it from scratches.

The ones you linked are not plastic. They are a thin glass.
Just got them myself, and not plastic. Broken on, and it spidered like glass. Plastic bends. Not breaks.
They work quite well too.
I have these on my pixel 4xl just in case. Gonna order a brand grips case to

Have you taken pictures with the flash on? Multiple reports on there stating the pictures have a haze as a result.

Moment Pixel Photo Case

https://www.shopmoment.com/shop/photo-case-pixel/pixel-4-photo-case-black-canvas
For those who do want an ultra wide lens option, you can pre-order the Moment case for $8 off regular price. I've been using their case and a Sirui 18mm ultra wide lens on my Pixel 2 XL and have been very please with the pics and videos. It has some vignetting but there's a newer version of the lens that apparently cuts down on it.

So not only the moment menses fit this case?
Is there a comparison between the different lense brands for this case? Maybe they are really a way to get ultra-wide shots with the Pixel. Not a native solution but if it's important to someone and works decently.

Just figured that the other lense he was referring to was a clip on lense anyway. But thanks for the clarification.

Actually, I stand corrected. I've never heard of the Sirui brand, but I just did a quick Google search and it seems like the mount for their lens fit Moment cases. Not perfectly, but well enough to be usable so they look like a more affordable option to the original Moment lens.
I'm actually pretty excited to use the phone's 2x lens with the Moment 2x lens I already have. Can you attach a lens to either camera?

Yes. You just need to double tap to get to the built-in telephoto lens then attach the lens.

Ha... Yeah that was the exact video that made me post a follow up comment to correct myself. If I had known that was an option, I would've probably gone for that instead of sourcing for a 2nd hand Moment Wide.
Here's the posts of my Pixel 2 XL with Sirui lenses:

I actually plan on getting the newer version that he reviewed in the video. Hopefully it does reduce the vignetting I got with my current ultra wide Sirui.

I have the one in his video and it works amazing on my Pixel 1 XL (as a clip on). No vignetting. Unfortunately I don't have a 2XL to try it on for you.

I don't have it yet, will purchase on black friday. I was just scouting the xda accessory forums ahead of time - sorry!
There is a post on reddit with a few pictures using the uw moment lens
https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/dvoizb/moment_18mm_on_pixel_4/
Got my case today. I had the black back before but I'm liking this walnut. Has a nice texture and don't think this will lift on the edges like the black did. Also, this has full edge protection with the Pixel 2 XL version didn't. It had a bottom edge missing.

That looks good. I should have got that one instead. I ended up getting the black one. On my Pixel 3 XL, it would start lifting on the sides and I thought I just got a bad one.
BTW, is it me or do you notice the lens doesn't screw on all the way into the case? It's still secure but I noticed on my Pixel 3 XL, my wide angle and telephoto lens would screw perfectly and go about halfway.... In my Pixel 4 XL, I noticed it would only screw like 1/3 of that .. It still works fine but I thought it was strange.

No I thought the same thing here. You can turn it all the way. It's just super tight especially compared to my 2 XL case.

I like how the case protects the lenses better then the big square cutout like other cases.
