Camera app doesn't seem to auto-rotate pictures in landscape mode. I've noticed that in other apps as well

I've only taken a few photos so far, all in landscape orientation. All except one have appeared in landscape orientation in the viewer. One of them, however, turned into portrait orientation. I fixed it using the WM "Pictures and Videos" application to rotate it, but I don't know why that happened.
The HTC Pure has a built-in accelerometer that automatically changes the screen orientation from portrait to landscape when you rotate the phone. It works great for websites, email, photos, and video, but not for 3rd party apps like Google Maps and Facebook.
Is there any way to lock the screen orientation, so it stays on landscape?
Thx!
Not working for me on pictures. Am I missing a setting. Auto rotate is turned on
I am facing this problem (for a week or so now) where the selfie photos with the inverted phone orientation (upside down due to bottom placement of camera) are saved in the original orientation (as if there was no rotation of phone).
The rotation sensor works fine during the capture and the interface of camera (xiaomi and gcam) also rotates. But it doesn't show in the saved picture.
I have autorotation disabled (via Quick Panel Tile) on my S908B but have noticed that some apps still rotate.
For example, Zoom rotates from portrait to landscape to both left and right.
Star Wars Heroes (game) is always landscape but rotates by 180° depending on which way I turn my phone.
I had a Note 8 before the S22U and disabling autorotation meant that apps didn't rotate unless they were landscape only, and those apps only rotated in one direction.
Is this normal on the S22U?
