Hey there all I'm running stock android KitKat 4.4.2 rooted with CWM and I have notes recently that the sound equalizer option in the sound configuration menu is disabled even though the MusicFX is enabled in the device, I tried installing Volume+ as a temporary fix and when trying to open it it crashes.
As a reminder when setting the android sound enhancer, it doesn't matters which I choose they both crash.
Any ideas about what causes them to crash and a possible solution will be appreciated and tested
I noticed that bass and clarity are gone now after the update. Unless it's hiding?
So before updating I had a couple of sound mods because the stock volume is way too low for me. But after the update I did a wipe ofc and now I can bearly hear my music. I installed the volume booster magisk and viper4android but there is no difference. The only thing that I did before different was editing a file in /system/etc. Something like volume limiter. It was at 80 something and I changed it to 99. But after the update that file doesn't exist in Android 10 apperently. I'm rooted and I know my way around modding and stuff. Is there any way to boost my audio volume? I'm talking about Bluetooth headphones btw...

Am I doing something wrong? What settings do you use?
I had the same problem. Pie was crappy. Q is horrible for Bluetooth volume.
I fixed Pie by installing Viper, but I cant get Viper to install its driver in Q.
This might be why Viper doesnt work for you, either. It isnt installing its driver.
I did find a way to increase the gain in Q though.
1. With your headset connected, press Vol + or - to get the pop out menu.
2. Press the little EQ icon under the volume menu.
3. Press the gear icon for the "Sound and Vibration" settings menu
4. In that menu, press Dolby Atmos.
5. Near the bottom look for "Style preference" under the Earphone adjustment section
6. This will bring up an Equalizer.
7. Turn up the gain !!!

Viper drivers need to be installed twice on 10. I'm using xXx rom to get dolby digital plus.

I installed this as well but other than downgrading my viper4android version it didn't do much... In mastergate I put the output to Max but it's still so quiet. I find it embarrassing how a jailbroken iPhone can do this is 2 seconds but with an rooted Android it's impossible?. Where is this Dolby plus? I just have the normal settings.

Check if sound is processing by pressing icon next to settings icon. If not, go to settings/apps and clear viper storage and set up again. Dolby plus is part of a custom rom. Try getting viper to process sound first.

So is there any solution to this? I also noticed that my bluetooth volume is way more silent now, even if I go up with the volume.
I was using Viper4Android in my old Android 6.0.1 head unit without any problem. I did use headset effects on my car speakers. There was an option like "Lock settings to Headset" or something like this in options menu.
Now I rooted my Android 10 device and installed ViperAndroid Fx 2.7 and it's driver successfully. But only effects under the speaker menu are working. I just looked options menu but didn't find any option about this.
How can I enable Headset effects on my car speakers?
Hello,
You can't. I spent a lot of time to find out how to do the same, I finally found a message on the viper forum in which the dev said that they locked the effects on the BT output during a major update in 2018 or 2019, It was intentional and they didn't plan to change this.
I tried to use an older viper version on my mtcd, my unit bootlooped so I had to revert back to the embedded version (Android 9 for me) .

I know Viper needs "audio compatibility" to run for my phone if your unable to uninstall then you could try to use that
Havnt tried on head unit
I've Installed different GSI's but issue still remains.
Music and Videos works fine but Sounds as mentioned in the title above gets Distorted during ringing or when I go to the sound settings to select a ringtone. so whenever I scroll through the list of Ringtones the one playing at the moment gets Distorted as I scroll.
Can this be fixed in anyway
I've tried magisk modules which claim to fix this. But some of them just makes things worst.
My device is Infinix Smart 4 x657 with a mt6580 chipset and a dynamic partition
