Yes me too.
Just bought the Nokia 6.2 today.
Would be nice to have the EvolutionX custom ROM on the Nokia 6.2. That I had used before on another phone which i dropped a few days ago and yesterday I bought this phone as a replacement. Quite a drawback from my phone before in case of memory, CPU, and quality.

i am ready

RDY

I’d be willing to test ROMs as well, especially ROMs based on Android 10. Thanks a lot for your contributions @Raghu varma

I am in
Sure no problem to help testing nokia 6.2 roms.

i am ready.

I wish I could try other roms

We have best rom and kernel developers for stock base rom although they are cooking without the team. On my previous phone,S advance(I9070) they start CM from the scratch and now BOOM! Please someone expert kindly explains why we can't get CM. No sources?
Its been months now of waiting for a vanilla android to come out on n900...I hope there is a dev that can assist us with some AOSP

but this time samsung screwed us

N900 only has 4-5 developers and this is disapointing

CM is available here and they also have an excellent wiki that explains how to build. I highly suggest giving it a try if you wish to have it.
However, posting requests and/or demands for a ROM in the development sections is inappropriate. This section is only for sharing something you've developed or are currently working on.

OnePlus one ROM question

Hello, xda. New here. I have a question regarding OnePlus One CM14.1. I saw this thread on xda of a CM14.1 unofficial ROM in OnePlus X. I just want to know if it's compatible with the One, since both are pretty similar in specs. If not, how do I port it? Thank you.
Hi,
you should not try to flash oneplus X rom on the oneplus One. It may brick your device.
there is no need to port it, because our beloved devs will build cm 14.1 for the opo really soon, because 14 got dropped and 14.1 is the latest dev branch, so everyone will jump on the cm14.1 train sooner or later.
If you want to try your luck and knowledge, you can build cm 14.1 for oneplus one from github sources (if there are avaiable)

Hey there, thanks for your response. Are you sure they'll make it for the OPO? I'll be waiting but it's boring searching for it every day to ser if it comes out. Thank you, take caré.

Considering it took months for them to have CM 13 for the OnePlus One and that they now have 20% fewer employees, I don't anticipate there being an official CM 14 for a few months. Definitely not worth checking daily - even if it does come out soon, it'll be bare bones CM (minimal features) and highly likely to be buggy.

Oreo Rom For Sony Xperia L

Since Android Oreo 8.0 will release in a few days
I just want to know that will the developers create a custom rom based on the new android 8
I have been using my Sony Xperia L for so many years & I have used from 4.2 to 7.1 All of it
and now I'm using the nougat rom its very stable and I like it very much
If custom Oreo is created please give me a reply .Thanks
Whoa, slow down there cowboy.
It's not even out yet - and it usually takes a couple of months for the most popular devices to start getting good ROM builds. The devs can't work that quickly; don't forget that these are not official OEM updates.
The OEMs get the source code earlier, and they have entire teams working on them. Error checking (and fixing) takes a lot less time when you have teams that big. That's why it seems like they release stable builds "right off the bat" - but in reality they've been working on them for a couple of months.
If the developers don't want to do it, they won't. If they want, they will. Don't nag them about this, and don't be ungrateful.

Sorry for being so quick
But I saw a video about Android 8 beta running on a pixel device. And I really liked it
That's the reason that I asked about the ROM

I thank all the developers for the amazing work they have done and I'm really grateful.
I'll wait.

Custom Rom Deveopment for the Lenovo P2

Hello everyone, I got this device about two months ago and am going to start trying to port over some roms from the redmi note 4.
I'v noticed that ROM development has been very slow recently, and even though I'm still a student its the holidays and I want this device to have a better future.
Here is the discord server for the P2 development and general chat.
https://discord.gg/K28XqCU
These devices have similar specs, which is one of the main reasons why I am trying to port roms from the redmi note 4 and not some other device.
I'm going to study more about custom roms, and if I may not be successful in porting one all the p2 community should give it a go as well. Everyone seems to be asking for roms and not many people bother to build/compile them.
I'll post any I find working on here as I go, and if anyone has advice/suggestions I'd be happy to take them, being new to custom roms and all.
If you guys could inform me about other devices with same cpu, screen resolution and camera specs that'd be great.
Currently the base rom I'm working on is AOSP extended v5 and the port rom is lineage os 15. I'v managed to port the boot.img over so far.
If anyone is interested on carrying on or continuing, all files will be uploaded on mega. You'll need android kitchen and other basics to continue development.
Make sure you have a device with unlocked bootloader, twrp recovery and a nanodroid backup in case anything goes wrong.
I am NOT responsible for any bricked devices, ect but I will try to help.

First ROMs have been compiled ?
Check ROMs section for aex 4.6 March sec patch and rr 5.8.5 December sec patch ?
Please do tell me if I'm doing anything wrong, as I am in no means a expert at this, just another p2 user wanting to give our devices a new life.
Thanks,
B50Corei5
Wish you a best of luck, just make it happen✌
Haha thanks. Any advice/ things I should watch out for?
With you mate
I too was thinking of porting from Redmi note 4.
Could you kindly share the methods of porting. I am a noob in custom ROM porting.
Also suggestions on which roms to be ported.

I'm currently attempting to port Lineage OS 15 from Redmi note 4, with base rom as AOSP Extended.
I'v ported the boot image over but can't find the "system" folder. If anyone would help with this it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
B50Corei5
Hopefully we can kick this thing off and get some other people involved, that way rom development for the p2 will speed up lots.
I myself am a "noob" at custom rom-ming, trying to follow youtube tutorials for porting roms. If anyone else with a bit more experience jumps on,
we should be able to get this finished quicker.
Let's do our best

Requesting help from experienced developers in finishing the ROM.
BTW are you using highwaystar's lineage os as base.

I'm probably messing up trying to port lineage os 15 while using AOSP extended v5.0 as base,
however you have to port roms that are the same os as your base.
You can't port a 8.0 rom with a 7.1.2 base.
Let's give a shot.
Don't expect for expert developer, because he/she can be already busy

Haha, thanks. I created a discord channel for it, link is all the way at start of thread.
Anyone willing to contribute can do so, I'll post updates on here as we go, don't expect
anything too soon though.
It is easy to get system dump and modify it cuz most of the files can be replaced easily by using the base rom.
Do you have any idea of creating update script and creating the final dat package? In my opinion this is the tough section i think.

Hmm. I just started developing roms so I'll look into it. It does look quite complicated. If you haven't already, go ahead and join the p2
development discord as it'll be easier to comunicate.

Redmi 7 ROM issue

I don't know what happened to the developers. Especially about the Redmi 7. This device has been released for 6-7 months but no official ROM has been seen so far. All that is getting unofficial or GSI ROM. Can't we get the official ROM?

Usually, the way it works is, only devices that developers actually own get custom ROMs. If there are no ROMs for your device it is probably because there are no developers that own a device like yours.
You'll probably get a custom ROM faster if you learn to build one yourself or if you buy another device like yours and donate it to a developer to build your ROM and pay the developer to build the ROM.
Other than that, you're on your own until a developer decides to buy a device like yours and build ROMs for it.(if a developer ever chooses a device like yours)
