Is it possible to run a nandroid on a emulator on PC? - General Questions and Answers

Hi xda forum
So as the question in the headline goes. If so, how and with which emulator?
Thank you

I am not sure about your question. In fact, developers can create Andriod Virtual Devices(AVDs)in the AVD Manager on their PC in order to test or debug their Apps on them.

The task is to run the OS of a Android phone on a PC. Maybe by creating a clone or disk image of the android, just like you can clone a Windows OS from one PC to another one where all files, settings, installed programs are intact.

HEY

hey is it possible to pull the entire Android OS, all assoicated files, etc off of a phone..like a droid or X for instance, and then run that from a virtual machine on your computer??
No, but you could check out the android x86 project or run eclipse.

i specially wanted to "emulate" a phone on the PC to check stability. i want to TOTALLY strip froyo, down to basic operating system and build it back up with no bloat, no apps, no nothin. customize it yourself, ya digg?
To run on what, phone or computer?
You said you wanted to run it in an emulator on the PC, which is what the android x86 project is for.
If you want to run it on the phone, eclipse is the build environment.

[Q] Can't use my tablet as a virtual device

Hi nerds
Excuse my terrible English
I'll hope this is the right place to put my question.
On all the other places he said: this is not an Q&A forum.
The last few weeks I have spend my time reading all about making apps.
To learn how to I have made a first simple app manualy on my tablet (asus tf300t) with AIDE.
After doing so I installed Eclipse and SDK in Windows7.
I studied it and create "Hello World".
So now I want to use my Tablet as a virtual device for testing.
But he want show up and Eclipse console said:
Failed to find an AVD compatible with target 'Android 4.1.2'.
I think I did everything possible:
- try to set the usb drive for Google (windows set best driver is already set)
- enabled my tablet (jellybean 4.2.1) usb mode
- set the user vars in windows (not necessary I think)
Windows sees the tablet but Eclipse is not seeing him for use as virtual device.
He also is n't showing up in the virtual device manager.
I also created a virtual device in Windows and that is working well.
But I want to use my tablet.
Some one knows what I do wrong or what I can do more?

Hmmm I was trying some things and discovert dat adb devices was given nothing.
So I try'd to install the Google usb driver but Windows said: best driver already installed.
Is this true?
I looked at the drivers and it is a windows driver.
I don't know!
Why is there no device in adb and do I have to install the Google driver?

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Pocket GTS-5300 - android - win file transfer

hi all, i know this is a developers' community but it's also a unique source of information on related matters so inevitably here i am (an end user)
system:
pc: windows 7 x64 pro os
phone: samsung gts-5300 (galaxy pocket), android os (gingerbread xxlj4), ('rooted' following these instructions)
question:
is there a way to be able to manipulate files in the phone through usb cable with a windows program (like a file manager)?
or at least can it be done using console commands?
note that by 'files' i mean android os files too
the issues:
'rooting' that phone does not actually grant root access to the system files but merely grants access to the su app and a glimpse of the system files
so yes we say it's 'rooted' but you can't actually pull any system file to a windows folder for example bcz you don't have the permissions required
i have installed numerous applications, on the pc and the phone, android sdk, android commander, qtadb, droid explorer, adb insecure, rom manager so i suppose that if someone gives me a set of steps i could hopefully quickly reply the problem that comes up on each step (obviously i don't think there is a quick solution to this, i know im an optimist...)
as far as i can understand, adb insecure should be the solution to this problem for similar devices where 'rooting' is not actually rooting, but im having the already mentioned and i suppose resolved issue of it causing the usb debugging mode to go off, and the problem is noone in the related thread actually mentions how that problem is overcome
thnx for your time

tablet copy files and session

Hi all !!
Please, I would like your help on two following issues.
I have Android tablet Chuwi Hi9Air (no root). Help I would like is:
a. I currently can see and control the tablet with Windows 10 pc with edb. For copying files from this Android tablet, is there any way to work on Windows 10 with GUI tool e.g. edb GUI? IF yes, can you please give me an instruction link?
b. I want with a way to copy my current Chrome session to PC and work it on my PC. Is there any way to make this copy?
Please, for working on these issues, I would like not root tablet.
Thank you for your time!
Did you mean ADB instead of EDB?
If so then this might be for you:
[TOOL][WINDOWS] ADB Graphical User Interface GUI
Hey guys I know I have posted some other similar programs, but hopefully this will raise the bar on how people use Android Debug Bridge. So To start off, this program will not root any phone, but can easily break a phone if used improperly...

I am sorry. You are right. I meant ADB.
Thanks you!
