Edit : meant app, not ROM. My apologies.

Sorry I meant app...
If any case..
1. There's a problem with the app
2. You should wipe dalvik and cache if possible.
3. If options 1 and 2 aren't viable try clearing data and cache of all applications and that should do it.
I flashed cyanogenmod 13 and gapps for marshmallow (from 6.12.2015) and it boots fine. All apps are installed, as before the update.
BUT
When I start any of these apps they seem to be reset to default as if they are newly installed. For example Threema starts setup process after start.
App data is still present on internal storage (did not wipe), but apps do not seem to have access to any of this data.
Can anyone help what I can try to get the apps back to work with previous data?
Thankful for any help!
Greets
Daniel
At first, try flashing CM13 after a full wipe or try using another rom since CM13 could be buggy.

Thanks for the reply! But well, the phone is working, just the apps are behaving as if they are newly installed ... So a full wipe would not really help as is only deletes more data. The question is why do the apps "think" they are not already set up?

Full ACK, but data is still available on the internal storage, but the apps do not notice this?
AND this one here (not allowed ot post links... so a missing w at the beginning ww.cyanogenmod.org/blog/a-marshmallowy-cm) says dirty flash from 12.1 to 13 is okay and if the cyanogenmod updater shows cm13 as availabe for update ...
EDIT: Maybe this was a missing info, but it was "just" a normal update via cyanogenmod updater, not a real flash of a new rom!

What do you want me to say? It's always better to full wipe when upgrading to a new Android version. Period.
Moreover, CM13 nightlies are buggy. There are important bugs and fixes everyday. Make a nandroid backup and try from scratch or try another nightly or another custom rom. There's nothing else to say IMO.

Just thought it could be possibly just a permission problem, a missing symlink or anything else that could be fixed manually.

I flashed the first CM13 nighly and I didn't have to do anything to get working apps. Everything has been restored without any issue.
The problem appeared after upgrade to nougat. I tried factory reset, it was ok for the first hours and now, the problem returned.
Anyone facing the same problems?
Phone not rooted, running on official rom and problems occurs even in safe mode....

Hi
How did you upgrade?
OTA , flashing??
If OTA did you upgrade al your apps , maybe one of them is making trouble
If flashing , how? and also did you upgrade your apps
Hey, thanks for the answer. It was OTA. I suppose all apps are up to date since I restored to factory settings and re-installed them.
The problem is still there even in safe mode...

Hi
yeah is odd , i would think it has to be app related .....
When you get the error ..after you introduce the password? what about if you ask your phone to forget your old connection , it allows you to connect to the new one then?
I would try to wipe dalvik and cache from recovery and /or reflash stock rom again..maybe something went wrong at least the modem

I tried to wipe the cache with no success. I am on a trip right now, and I cannot wipe the dalvik for the moment.
I figured out a walkthrough though using a third party app called "WIFI manager". I even managed to install a certificate and use it for a connection to an "eduroam" network...
News :
Starting today, i'll just upload the firmware if it has a change in it.
So you know there's no need to update the firmware if there's no change in it, save the hassle.
Tips :
* I've added checksum file for each firmware-only files in google drive, so you guys can see what's changed on every firmware-only release.
* If you experience sim card not detected after flashing firmware, don't worry, it's normal. do this, plug out and plug in your sim card tray, and restart your device.

yep i believe the Miui10 is in Alpha and currently being tested by a closed group of users. we should see public Beta releases towards the end of June.
Im just curious if there is any difference in battery consumption to previous version of MIUI.
I've tried it a couple of days ago. There are some visual changes like new notifications panel UI, recents UI, In-call UI etc. A bit more IOS-ish as some say.
First of all, if you consider flashing it;
- You need the Raupe/Blunden twrp to flash it, other recoveries end up with error 7.
- After flashing this build; twrp will ask for a decrypt password and no password will be correct. So your internal storage won't be mounted on twrp no way to fix it at the moment.
- Magisk 16.4 is able to root it, don't know about previous ones.
- If you consider flashing other roms, you have to do factory reset(format data) to get your internal be able to mount on twrp again.
- It doesn't have google apps as it's China specific, so you need to install google apps manually by Google installer apk or there are zip files for miui 10 ported gapps which give force closes randomly.
- Can be a daily driver since all is working.
- Xposed won't work.
Other than these hick ups, it's good initial build. Fast and smooth, can't tell about battery life since I haven't used it for a long time. There are secondary releases(8.6.5) for some devices so can be around for Mix too. Cheers.

Ok trying it now and everything seems to be working good. A little laggy at the moment so I'm just letting it set in. I was hoping the camera would've gotten updated but same old crappy camera software from previous MIUI firmware. Hopefully when they do release the final version we'll get a updated camera but all in all this is a keeper till we get updated version on here, hopefully...

Ok going through settings and as far as I can tell I don't see face unlock feature. I highly doubt the mix will get seeing as how old it is now, I never use it anyway on other devices so it's not a big deal to me. Everything is running very smooth and fast, I'm liking the Android P style look a lot, more than how it looks on the pixel but that's just me.

You just cancel it and internal storage will be unable to use on twrp. If you flash other things, you need to do it by an OTG.

Oh yes yes, I always use OTG just in case. Thanks for the info.
I installed it, but I keep loosing the recovery, when I reboot it goes to the Miui recovery.
Is there a way to disable the factory recovery overwriting the twrp.
Appreciate any help.
Thanks.

i think you should flash this file in twrp :
https://build.nethunter.com/android-tools/no-verity-opt-encrypt/
after that the recovery shouldn't get replaced anymore.

Hi everyone,
I have a Poco X3 Pro which currently runs Xiaomi.eu 12.5.7 and I was wondering if there was any point in updating to Xiaomi.eu 13.
First I've read that there is no recovery that actually supports Android 12, therefore I was wondering if it would be troublesome for some things, and if so, for what. And which recovery should I install, I'm currently running Orangefox which I really like.
Moreover, it seems that it runs slower than Xiaomi.eu 12.5.
Finally I always have trouble migrating to a new rom because of the factory reset needed, and I don't know any viable solution to backup my data properly. I've always lost my data, and all I was managing to save was my apps (without their data's), my contacts and sms (which sometimes didn't work properly) and my photos (ish) .
I was wondering if anyone knew of a solution to backup everything needed such as apps+datas, sms+contacts+mms, pictures and videos.
I'd like to mention that I run Xiaomi.eu mainly for the mobile data tracking features, which I couldn't find in any other non-MIUI rom, and the ui and the new control center since MIUI 12.
Thanks in advance

If you have a Poco x3 pro(VAYU) and use 12.5.7 Xiaomi Eu rom(custom rom not EEA stock) you can update to 13 without losing the data because now you can flash the rom with fastboot command and you can choose between 2 scripts:
"windows_fastboot_first_install_with_data_format.bat"or
"windows_fastboot_update_rom.bat"
For the first install,it is better to format data but update work.
Backup your data with Miphone assistant,Micloud,Google.

Method/ Pc mandatory:
Download rom
open and extract rom with 7.zip or other
Phone in fastboot mode
Execute command according your Pc.(Windows,linux,Mac).

Remove security from the lock screen before flashing the rom (additional precaution) and save your data just in case.

Thanks I may try that, but for now I haven't had the bug again.
Also, do you know of any way to change the boot animation? I tried replacing the bootanimation.zip on my own but I can't it is read only, and even with an app such as boot animation on play store (I am rooted) it doesn't work.
