So I can successfully install superuser v2.40, but it's not working with one of my apps (puzzle and dragons). I have been told me to downgrade to 2.25, but I have been having issues.
The problem is no matter what, when I flash 2.25 it gets stuck in a bootloop. Flashing it on stock, and even flashing it over 2.40, and flashing it over 2.40 when clicking the replace button in the superuser app. What am I doing wrong? Is 2.25 not compatible with my phone?
Hi First of all, if you have any compatibility issues with apps try upgrading them rather than downgrading. In this case SuperSU v2.46 would be the current version. Anyways, I just googled a bit and that's not the problem at all.
The developers of the game implemented a function which doesn't let the app start on a rooted device. It will check if you have Superuser-rights and automatically close the game at the splash screen if so.
So actually what you need is something that "hides" your root. There are several methods. I heard about Xposed modules like RootCloak for example. I even read on the xda News page that it's Lollipop compatible

Thanks for the reply. On the game's forums, I have been told that masking does not work (if you look at xposed rootcloak it says it's not compatible). And some users have been able to get the game to work with certain versions. I am on the latest binaries and it still doesn't work. The only way to get it to work is to unsinstall SuperSU and reflash it every time I want to play.
On some forums I've read that SuperSU has got a function to "hide" or "temporarily disable" it... Take a look at the app. Hopefully this feature hasn't been removed and maybe that's enough for you to get the game working. It's not a perfect solution but at least you don't have to uninstall / reflash every time. Let me know if it worked
Looks like 5.1.1 is real and the Nexus Player is the first to get it. Factory image has been posted and I assume an OTA will be following shortly.

Flashed and still can't cast to the damn thing without the FPS and motion being crap in the video
Wonder if there are any (significant) fixes for NP. I haven't really got any problems with mine so 5.1.1 doesn't sound very tempting for NP. For N5 on the other hand..
Edit: One problem btw, when casting the whole screen from our Nexus 5's, there sometimes isn't any sound. Reboot of NP workarounds this problem.

Do you have any issues with casting to it from the likes of showbox etc? ive tried so many different versions of apps to cast and they all produce the same issues with the NP that is not on the chromecast
One new change I noticed is they renamed Notifications to "Customize Recommendations" and put a new UI for it under the "Home Screen" settings. It makes since as calling them Notifications was quite confusing.

Actually no, I used to have problems but after 5.1 + some Google Cast Receiver update all my apps that I cast from works fine. I do not use Showbox.

Is Chainfire's root method still working on the Android v5.1.1 update?

Same experience here. Before the 5.1 + cast receiver update, I couldn't even cast a tab from my chrome browser. Post update, things work great. Kind of scared to do another update....

Hey, I flashed the 5.1.1 factory image and tried Chainfire's root method (booting the root.img through fastboot), but SuperSU won't show up/or get installed. Did you do it the same way or can you take me through the steps?

What I did was after using Chainfire's method, I installed SuperSU from the Play Store. Afterwards I booted with root.img one more time because it wasn't granting superuser and now it works.
I still cant update the binaries tho as this for some reason causes a boot loop. It might just be that I didn't wipe.

I just saw the same thing--can boot with the root.img, but updating binaries stays stuck at the spinning dots. Root does work, however.

In case you still need it I got it working by installing adbd insecure then manually pushing SuperSU.apk to /system/apps and the binary to /system/xbin
Are the folks running rooted 5.1.1 still having issues with Material Design apps that use 3-dots menus on the top taskbar of the app? If running Titanium Backup, can you use the batch function on the top taskbar?
I received the update and Hulu no longer works smh

Regarding rooting problems on 5.1.1
I fixed this problem with rooting 5.1.1 last week in my Android Toolkit *HERE*. The problem with SuperSU not showing in the Apps bar is fixed if you adb install the Superuser.apk file that was used to root. If you have already rooted and have installed the Toolkit you can go to section 19 from the Main Menu and select the Superuser fix (option1) to extract the Superuser.apk and adb install it. Android 5.1.1 is also fully supported with download/flash/root available.
I did post in Chainfires support thread to let him know about the 5.1.1 rooting problem but I guess he has been away on a well deserved break.
Mark.
5.1.1 and trying to use http://download.chainfire.eu/631/CF-R
As mentioned I installed SuperSU from the Play Store after booting the root.img. It tries to install but then fails. Upon reboot it stays stuck at the boot animation. Only way out is a fresh restore/re-booting the root.img. Any ideas?
Hey guys!
I'm wondering if anyone else is having a problem with MirrorShare working in the latest update. I just recently tried using it and nothing is showing up for me to connect to. This is very disappointing. If anyone has gotten this to work, I appreciate any advice.
BTW: I'm rooted with TWRP custom recovery and I have xposed installed as well.
Thanks!
Here! But MirrorShare is not the only thing in B571. GPS is also f****d up after the latest update. Also some of my apps stopped working and can't be opened.
I am not rooted and have no unlocked bootloader.
Has anyone installed magisk on g930f and can play the new "buddy" Pokemon Go?
See reply to this post on how I installed magisk on the Exynos galaxy s7 sm-g930f.

Has anyone successfully installed Magisk in order to be able to play Pokémon Go's latest "buddy" version? If so, were you able to both install magisk and then play the new version? Finally, if you did, can you point to a walkthrough on how to do this on the s7? Thanks for any help on this. I did some googling but haven't found exactly what I'm looking for yet.

This sub is so dead. Anyway, I took the leap and installed Magisk myself on my g930f (exynos international s7) and it seems to be working.
First I followed the step by step instructions found at http://androiding.how/install-magisk-universal-systemless-interface-android/ which also include downloads (which are good right now 9-27-2016, you might want to check for updates to the apps and zips if it's been a while when you read this). I flashed magisk v6 via twrp which I already had installed.
I then continued to http://androiding.how/systemless-root-magisk-android/ and installed phh's superuser. I downloaded and installed Magisk manager.
I wanted to automate it for Pokémon Go, so I went to http://androiding.how/download-auto-magisk-automatic-root-toggle-pokemon-go-android-pay/ and downloaded AutoMagisk, which allows you to indicate particular apps for which you want magisk to hide root when you boot them. It appears to be working well.
I have not yet attempted the version of Xposed for Magisk. If and when I do, I will update this post with how I did so, if I do get it working.
If this helps you, please hit the "thanks" so I can see if this was of use to anyone.
With suhide you don't even need to turn root off. Dunno if it works for s7 however. But it's working perfectly well on my old Nexus 5.
Systemless SuperSU + systemless Xposed + suhide
Automatically hides su for googleplayservices effectively making it undetectable for safety net, temporarily however...

Hello! I am having an issue where in VirtualXposed, it won't open apps. The apps add successfully and install, but when I want to open them it is stuck at "Opening (APP NAME)..." .
Please any help
Thanks
EDIT: Also, my device isn't rooted, and I don't really want to root it.
Mine is rooted Xposed runs fine but I figured I could install this easy but same problem, tried on my friends non rooted device expecting it to that time work, but same result.
