Google Play not functioning - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi,
I recently updated my 7PRO to Oxygen OS 10, and after encountering problems with Android Auto, I downloaded the local update file and switched back to 9.
Ever since. it's been impossible to download files from Google Play. I went to the local OP dealer, and they installed factory firmware (9) but that didn't help.
I then installed 10 back again, hoping that it'll do the trick, but no luck there also.
Other than issues with Google Play I also experience (very) late notifications in some apps (Whatsapp, SMS and email seem to work fine).
I read somewhere that APKPure sometimes causes Play store issues, but I didn't have it installed at the time. However, after reading about it I installed it, and this is now the only way I can download apps (other than on Chrome).
Things I tried:
1. Deleting cache of Play.
2. Factory settings.
3. Deleting cache using recovery mode.
4. Switching back to Oxygen and Android 9.
5. Changing DNS.
Other than that, the phone seems to be as snappy as ever. I'm absolutely clueless... any ideas?
Thanks

[Q] Google Play store won't download anything on data

I know this has been asked before, but nothing seems to work. Google play simply refuses to download or update any apps, it says downloading, and the downloading progress bar shows in the notification panel, but the percentage does not come up and no matter how long I wait, it doesn't finish. This is on my mother's Samsung Galaxy s3 Mini, 4.2.2, and unfortunately not rooted (unfortunately meaning I feel the problem would probably be easier to fix with root, haha). It works fine on WiFi, I have even tried to "jump start" it by starting an app download with WiFi, then quickly switching to mobile. I've cleared play data, cache, uninstalled updates, stopped/cleared data for download manager, same with play services + uninstalled updates, forced my current versions of google play and play services onto her phone to ensure she would have the latest version, removed and readded her Google account, tried other apps, restarted the phone multiple times during the uninstallations and clearing data, toggled airplane mode, booted the phone without data after wiping Play data and cache and starting it FIRST with WiFi, then switching to data, hit update/install with airplane mode on to force error 923 (mainly to see if errors could still be triggered, or if the downloading bar would continue to attempt downloading), tried a different Google account, force killed download manager while a download was pending for Google play + relaunched Google play.... I've tried everything I can think of except for a factory reset, which is ridiculously stupid if that's the only solution.
Edit: Things got interesting. As a process of elimination, I used Chrome to download a random image online. Same as Google Play, the downloading bar and arrow showed up, but will not download. Seems the problem lies deeper within the download manager.... on a nonrooted android, what are my choices to fix this?
Edit (again): Finally got download manager to download things online, but google play store seems to "lock it up", meaning when I try to install on the play store, the installation never actually finishes, and afterwards download manager will no longer work online for random images and files. It's as if something is stuck.

Try the following:
Update your phone's firmware.
Update Playstore.
Try clearing cache using Recovery Mode.
Use 3rd party app.
Try updating using a specific custom ROM for your device.
If all else failed. Try Formatting.

(6045Y) Idol 3 - Google Play Services problem

Hello, it's my first post here so be lenient if you might.
My Idol 3 5.5 came back from repair (power button not working) and they replaced motherboard in order to fix it.
Everything seemed fine until I got home, connected to WiFi and tried to use Google Play. I downloaded all updates pending and tried to use WhatsApp. It said my time and date are wrong, I tried to change it few times, nothing helped. I uninstalled WhatsApp and Messenger (since it didn't work too) and tried to reinstall them. Suddenly notification about Google Play Services update popped out so as it said I did. After the update I've been greeted with whole bunch of similar notifications informing me that none of my apps will work and I have to update Google Play Services. That's a shame I already did... Tried cleaning cache and uninstalling updates etc. Nothing helped, still unable to use apps. After a while It has shown that it can't sync with my Google account, then informed me that I need to connect to the internet in order to use Google Play (I obviously was on my WiFi and internet connection was available, switched to mobile data and same occured). I performed factory reset, the phone didn't boot fo 10 minutes showing Alcatel animation so I turned it off. I opened service menu (power + vol up) and performed wipe from there, rebooted, phone started, configured it and same thing happened - no Google Play for me. I did it one more time, carefully logging in Google Account, not rushing anything in order not to screw up. Still nothing. At this moment I'm really frustrated since I can't use my phone and I'd really not want to send it to repair one more time since it lasts 2 weeks to get it back. Any ideas on how to fix it? Web browser worked fine, sms worked, phone calls were fine. Any ideas?

Maybe give Mobile Upgrade Q a try? It will flash the latest firmware available for your device and will probably fix any software-related problem
Factory reset and then turn on automatical time syncing. Wish you good luck.

Puzzling play store problem

I have recently ( within the last 2 months) aquired a Google Pixel. Having been a Nexus fanatic, I switched to OnePlus, when they killed the line. I broke my 3t and purchased a Pixel for a little over $200. Naturally I started flashing. I flashed DP2 and ever since I flashed back to 8.1 (both stock and ROMs) my Play Store has have the weiredest issue. All of my purchases are gone unless when I first go thru setup, if they are re-sorted via the cloud, they are fine. Naturally, not all of them, but whichever ones I had on phone at the time of backup. Anywho... That's not all.. Everytime I click on the "Library" tab the app list constantly refreshes. I've tried different gapps, ROMs, stocks. I haven't reverted all the way back to Android N nor have I flashed DP2 again. Ive cleared data, caches, deleted the play store and replaced it with one from app mirror. I can access it via chrome but when I try to Download a paid app it gives me an error msg. I am hoping someone/anyone heard of this or experienced it and knows a fix. Thank you in advance.

Extremely Slow Play Store Downloads

Hello,
Since about a couple of weeks ago, the Play Store started getting really slow. Updates get stuck at "download pending", and sometimes they do download. Other app downloads get stuck at 100% downloaded for a long time before installing. I can leave my phone on updating all night and in the morning it is still not done. This happens both on LTE and on Wi-Fi, and I do have very fast Wi-Fi. I am on the OxygenOS Open Beta 10. I did not do any changes to my phone when this started happening.
I have tried all of the following to fix the problem, but it doesn't help:
Rebooting the phone
Uninstalling Play Store updates
Deleting and adding Google Account
Clearing cache
I tried wiping the phone and using OxygenOS 9.0.2 - same problem.
I have clean-wiped the phone, deleting even internal storage, and flashed OxygenOS clean stock, and still it does this. (it also has new problems, like Magisk doesn't offer root authorization anymore even though it installed and working according to Magisk Manager...)
The only way I could get the Play Store to work properly was to use a custom ROM, HAVOC 2, but that ROM has problems with the front camera in some apps.
It almost seems like the Play Store detects OOS and decides to act funky. Has anyone faced this problem, or resolved it? Should I contact Google and see if the problem is their Play Store?
I almost feel like, since I have tried with clean wiping and using stock ROMs, and things that weren't broken before just started breaking for no reason, that there is a problem with the hardware itself. It makes no sense that the problems carry over into stock ROM when I have wiped everything several times.
Uninstall or disable the google app.
That fixed it for me.
Let me know if that works.

Question Play store crashing when updating apps, anybody else got this?

Hi,
From yesterday when I goto manage apps and device in the app store, go into the app update bit and start any updates Google play crashes.
It still does the updates though.
I've tried updating Google play (it's the latest version). I've cleared cache and data, rebooted and it still continues to do this.
I've never seen this before in years of Android use. Any idea?
Have this going on as well. Wiped storages and seemed OK for a couple minutes, then started doing it again. Looks like this is potentially becoming an issue.
Seems to be fixed now with me not doing anything. I guess some server issue......
