[Guide] Installing Blu_spark TWRP | Magisk 20.1 On Stable Oxygen OS 10 - OnePlus 6 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi there just incase someone else who had problems [like me]
who is hesitant or looking for a guide on how to install Blu_Spark TWRP and Root the device.
The guide below will work 99.9% of the time. just follow the instructions carefully
Necessary Files:
Install OnePlus 6 Driver
Install Fastboot Drivers
TWRP Image
Magisk 20.1
twrp-3.3.1-x_blu_spark_v9.107_op6
Stock boot image thanks [URL="https://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=6994095" @Akhil701[/URL]
Step 1: [dont do this if you have installed ADB and Fastboot already]
Install Oneplus 6, ADB and Fastboot Drivers from the link above
* Reboot PC after installing
Step 2:
Put
Code:
Stock Boot Image [boot.img]
twrp-3.3.1-x_blu_spark_v9.107_op6.zip and
Magisk-v20.1.zip
on your internal storage
Also Put
Code:
twrp-3.3.1-11-enchilada-Q-mauronofrio.img
on your desktop
Step 3: Reboot device in fastboot/bootloader mode
Step 4: Connect Device to PC Via USB Cable
Step 5: On your desktop Press Shift Right Click then click the [Open Command Prompt Here]
Step 6: on the CMD Windows Type
Code:
fastboot devices
Press enter and see if your device shows up.
Step 7: type in the CMD Window
Code:
fastboot flash boot twrp-3.3.1-11-enchilada-Q-mauronofrio.img
press enter then after that on your phone screen use volume up or down button to reboot to recovery
Step 8:
Once you have the TWRP Screen
flash the stock boot image [boot.img] in boot partition [DO NOT Reboot!]
now go back and flash the Blu_Spark TWRP and then reboot to recovery
Step 9: Rooting
Flash Magisk 20.1.zip then reboot to system.
Thats it! no data will be wiped as long as your bootloader is already unlocked.
thanks to
@Funk Wizard for the initial instruction on how to install twrp and root
 @eng.stk for the Blu_Spark TWRP
@mauronofrio for the initial TWRP Image

im not sure about that also. im just hesitant to skip that step. it might break something. thats why i added that step on this guide

Thnx, this was a very easy walkthrough.
Only thing I want to say is that not everyone knows how to flash the 'boot.img' through TWRP. Maybe you can explain that in more detail.

no patched boot.img you need
1. connect your OP6 to PC
2. flash TWRP (from mauronofrio) by fastboot from PC
3. reboot from fastboot to recovery
4. in TWRP flash stock img OOS, don´t reboot
5. in TWRP flash TWRP (blu_spark 9.107)
6- reboot to TWRP to another slot
7. in TWRP flash Magisk 20.1
8. reboot to system

I have noticed this too, probably they have changed somehow the system, even fastboot boot doesn't work anymore....
I had to install magisk via boot.img patching

Functionally on OOS 10.0.1 OP6 ?

So I was unable to flash the new OTA through twrp running on my rooted OP6.
As such, I opted to install the new OTA through the "local install" option.
That worked great. Settings area all the same. Bootloader still unlocked (I double checked).
Drivers are all installed on my Windows 10 PC.
However, no matter what I attempt to flash from command prompt I always get:
FAILED (remote: unkown command)
Does anyone know of a solution yet?
I have been reinstalling drivers and rebooting my PC with no luck thus far.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Update:
Whelp now that it is upgraded to Android 10 (and was wiped of all data when I locked and then unlocked the bootloader again) it will not allow me to downgrade back to Andriod 9 through the local upgrade option and since I can not get fastboot to accept any commands I am stuck now in Andriod 10 without the ability to change anything at the moment.

i knew it while reading but thanks to the screenshot you provided you saved me from sounding "user error" once again and piss of so many who prefer to blame things and others LOL
in short, wrong command, it's fastboot flash boot <image name>
BTW and since i'm already at it, if anyone has a Mac runniing 10.15 "Catalina" and fastboot is working from terminal, i'd like to learn how he/she's done it
just came to my mind to ask here since i have to use windows 10 under parallels desktop to fastboot flash my android stuff at the moment and of course that's just an "Emergency" choice for me, everyone using both platforms will understand

Wow. Okay.
This is becoming a comedy of errors on my part.
Oh boy now I am getting Qualcom flashdump messages...
Huh now it is just booting normal but not letting me get into the new recovery flash...
I got it all fixed.
Thank you everyone for your help and patience with my posts.

Does 10.0.1 still have the ability to do screen-off gestures for music? I like 10 but on my wife's 7t, either she didn't turn them on, our it didn't have them so I'm curious if there same thing is happening with this? I also noticed on her 7t, constant data problems when's switching from WiFi to data. Sometimes data won't come back and only a reboot solves. I know it's a bug on OOS 10 on 7t but wondering if it's a device specific bug or an Android 10 bug? Anyone having op6 issues with data not coming back when switching from WiFi?

WIFI problem solved!
Below OOS 10.0.1 back inTWRP
Wipe: cache, system and vendor
Flash OOS 10
Flash boot img
Flash TWRP
Flash Magisk
Reboot system
Reboot recovery
Flash OOS 10.0.1
Flash boot img

Reboot system
Wifi works

After rooting 10.0.1 with magisk 20.1 mobile network is gone. no sim pin, no metwork. after unroot everything is fine

Unroot doesn't work for me. Still no wifi and audio.

Hi guys, sorry to resurrect this thread. I did everything in the correct order using 10.0.3.0 and after step 8 (reboot after flashing blu_spark) my phone gets stuck on blu_spark splash screen without any option to boot into twrp. Normal boot results in bootloop... Any ideas? Do I need to use different versions of twrp.img and .zip?

[Guide]How to Root OnePlus 6 Guide! [Video Tutorial][Windows/Mac/Linux]

For those of you who want to root your OnePlus 6, here is the easiest root method even a 10-year old can follow that works on all Windows, Mac, and Linux. Now, before I begin, you will have to unlock the bootloader. If you have not unlocked your bootloader or don’t know what that is, please follow How to Unlock Bootloader on OnePlus 6 first!
Here's a full step-by-step video tutorial:
First, I want to thank those who made root tutorials but I found an easier way to root that does not involve switching any slots, took me a quite awhile to figure this out but well worth the effort. You only have to flash TWRP image to boot, then with TWRP flash boot.img, TWRP installer, and Magisk with this tutorial. You can do it easily on all Windows, Mac, Linux, or even Chromebook(just install Chrome ADB on Chrome Web store)
Special thanks to magnamentis, his method didn't work for me as I lost my Wifi but after few hours of tinkering, found you can just reflash boot.img then the TWRP installer zip file he provided, and voila! Flawless root everytime, I've tested this about 10 times now, thanks again for the post here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76687704&postcount=212
Step 1. Once you have unlocked your bootloader, make sure to SIGN IN as if you do not sign into your phone, you will end up in a nasty bootloop.
Step 2. Check your Android version in Settings->About Phone just in case you are reading this in the future when Android 9.0 comes out but this tutorial is future-proof and will work on future Android versions so long as you use the correct boot image file.
Step 3. Power off your phone and hold down Volume Up and Power buttons for about 3 seconds until you enter the Fastboot mode. When doing this, make sure your USB cable is disconnected otherwise you may enter another special mode for unbricking. If you mess up and get into that special mode, simply reboot your device by holding down Volume Down and Power buttons for about 20 seconds.
Step 4. Once in fastboot mode, connect a USB cable from your OnePlus 6 to your computer. You can use Windows, Mac, or Linux. For my video tutorial, I will be using Windows 10 but you can go ahead and use the substitute code for Mac or Linux as most of the steps are nearly identical.
Step 5. You will need to download:
NOTE: All the download links are at the BOTTOM OF THE PAGE, wait 5 secs and click on "CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD", don't click on the ads!!!
Download fastboot.zip:
https://download.highonandroid.com/file/Tools/fastboot.zip
Android USB Drivers for Windows:
https://download.highonandroid.com/file/Drivers/UniversalAdbDriverSetup.msi
Download Magisk:
https://download.highonandroid.com/file/Tools/Magisk/Magisk-v16.4.zip
Download TWRP image:
https://download.highonandroid.com/file/TWRP/OnePlus6/twrp-3.2.1-oneplus6.img
Download TWRP installer zip:
https://download.highonandroid.com/file/TWRP/OnePlus6/twrp-installer-oneplus6-3.2.1.zip
Download and boot.img for OnePlus 6T Android 8.1:
https://download.highonandroid.com/file/TWRP/OnePlus6/boot/8.1/boot.img
Step 6. If you have followed my bootloader unlock tutorial and installed drivers for Windows, you can skip that step. If not, you can go head and run the Android USB Driver program and install drivers. For Mac or Linux, no drivers are needed!
Step 7. Unzip fastboot.zip and move over the TWRP image file you downloaded earlier to the fastboot folder.
Step 8. Open a command prompt for Windows by typing “cmd” in the search bar. For Mac or Linux, open a terminal, if you don’t know how, please Google it.
Step 9. Type the following.
For Windows:
cd Downloads
cd fastboot
fastboot flash boot twrp twrp-3.2.1-oneplus6.img
For Mac:
cd Downloads
cd fastboot
chmod 755 *
./fastboot-mac flash boot twrp twrp-3.2.1-oneplus6.img
Note: CHMOD command basically changes file permissions so you can run the files.
For Linux:
cd Downloads
cd fastboot
chmod 755 *
sudo ./fastboot-linux flash boot twrp twrp-3.2.1-oneplus6.img
Note: CHMOD command basically changes file permissions so you can run the files.
This will flash the TWRP image to your boot partition. Normally, we can simply boot TWRP image but since we don’t have official TWRP recovery(as of writing this), you will have to flash TWRP image to the boot partition, which allows us to boot TWRP recovery.
Step 10. Choose “Recovery” using the Volume keys and hit Power button to enter TWRP recovery.
Step 11. Recovery will probably be in Chinese, hit the “Read Only” button, top button on left middle.
Step 12. You can change the language back to English by hitting the second box from bottom right then hit the globe icon on top right.
Step 13. Go back to your computer and copy over the TWRP install zip file, Magisk zip file, and boot.img file.
Step 14. You don’t need the USB cable connected anymore. Go ahead and install the boot.img file using the image option in Install menu. This will flash back your regular boot image to the boot partition.
Step 15. Next, install the TWRP install zip and Magisk zip file. This will give you permanent TWRP recovery and full root.
Step 16. Reboot and you should see everything working including WiFi, 4G LTE, yadayadayada. Open Magisk Manager app and find you have full root with SafetyNet pass also so you can hide root.
Verify you have full root by installing Titanium Backup app(free app) on the Play Store, you should see a Superuser request window.
That’s it! Enjoy folks!
OnePlus 6T? How is this supposed to be easier? You have sixteen steps here. The other method from wuxianlin is very simple I did it in five minutes with no issues at all including WiFi still working. And how can you say you don't have to switch slots. It is required to flag TWRP to both a and b for it to work properly. You don't even mention that in this tutorial.

I got lost trying to do that root method, I was following this one here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/oneplus-6-unlock-bootloader-flash-twrp-t3792643
But yeah you don't have to switch slots for my root tutorial, which can cause havoc if you flash to the wrong one. If you don't believe me just watch the video. It doesn't hurt to have multiple root methods so long as they work. But my Wifi kept dying everytime I used the slot switch method until I found this way to do it.
I am only trying to make a tutorial that even a kid follow but I've broken down a few steps into maybe 10+ steps, probably helpful for noobs who are trying to root. If you are advanced XDA user, great job though, took me a few hours myself to get a flawless root method. Believe me, I love shortcuts and any method that works the first time out but sucks if people don't explain every little detail as not everyone is an expert. I've been rooting phones for awhile now and it was not easy task with OP6.

Yes, since this root method flashes a stock boot image after installing TWRP, you can follow it fine. But make a backup of everything just in case.
Basically, this root method, you flash TWRP to boot partition, then flash stock boot image in TWRP, flash TWRP installer for permanent TWRP, then flash Magisk, and reboot. It's actually just 4 steps, I had to make it much longer for noobs because they will mess up.

Yes, that root method is great but it does not give you TWRP recovery, meaning you can't install custom ROMs with it. But if you need TWRP recovery, you will need to install TWRP recovery thru one of the tutorials here.

The current method of installing TWRP is not noob friendly. Nor is yours in fact after reading yours or seems not complicated than it needs to be. You also need to give credit to the creators of our TWRP and there guides.

@zedomax Thank you for these amazing tutorials. I watched both your videos. In that you mentioned that OnePlus ota updates are twrp compatible but then if I root will I have to unroot the phone or flash the stock rom first then install that ota update and then root again or there's some other method to install OTA on a rooted device?

You can accept OTA, but you will have to reflash Magisk.img. Most OTAs do not overwrite boot.img I think unless they are major updates(like to Android P 9.0 when available). So, just flash OTA and if you lose root, reboot into TWRP and flash Magisk.
HI, thanks for the guide but my phone just blocked at recovery launch. Ho can i do?
Same
Edit: It's ok, probably a bug
Thank you zedomax for taking the time to create this guide. I'm gonna try it!
I assume this will work for both A6000 and A6003 right?

Me too. How can this be fixed?
I think I bricked my phone.
This is what I did:
- Bought OnePlus 6 (I think it was A6000)
- Installed OTA, so I was on Android 8.1.0 and OOS 5.1.8
- Followed this tutorial, which broke wifi
- I followed mixtapes02's advice on the video and reflashed OOS 5.1.8
- Now I cannot boot into Android anymore, I can only get to TWRP
EDIT: I managed to install OOS 5.1.5 successfully

I had the same issues and went through the same process. Took a whole day to get it back to stock.
I am sorry to ask such a noob question, but i am very confused by the command you say to use in Step 9:
>fastboot flash boot twrp twrp-3.2.1-oneplus6.img
what is the meaning of the first "twrp" in that command?
shouldn't it be simply:
fastboot flash boot twrp-3.2.1-oneplus6.img
Thank you in advance for the explanation

[SOLVED] Asking Experts for Solving Bootloop Nokia 8

So, I want to say that my Nokia 8 TA-1004 is having Bootloop. This happens very occasionally and randomly. It just attacks unexpected. I can't see what is the problem or what's the source of it. Thankfully, I have the logcat file. However, I do not understand what was the main cause. So please, I am asking the experts in here to help me identify the source of this error.
The Bootloop just boot like 4-5 times and then stopped Bootloop or sometimes just go straight to DOWNLOAD MODE and I had to restart manually. After that, i was able to gointo system like exploring like usual, and then it happens again. Sometimes not opening the app also happens. Repeat until you gets the nerve.
The phones status is rooted with magisk and unlocked bootloader but no twrp yet. Also, I am at 4.88B SP01 June,01 patch. If you are telling me that the root is the cause, then it is unlikely since it has been weeks since I had it rooted but the problem just came these recently.
Once again, I ask for the help of forumers here. I want to at least enjoy my phone that I love. I dont really want to sell the phone anymore.
Here's the link of logcat:
https://www16.zippyshare.com/v/2W0SVK8t/file.html
I promise. No viruses. Thank you
Hey, I suspect that this problem could be fixed by flashing original bootloader image.
I assume you have flashed an unsuitable image and I think you are using an unlocked bootloader, that's why you are facing this problem.

Do you mean flashing original Boot.img? As we know, to gain root, we need to flash patched boot.img with magisk. Do you mean this kind of issue? I notice the problem is in Android System. It says failed to load as data may corrupt. Google is also not responding and Google play services.
Unlocked Bootloader isnt the issue. But, I do think image is unsuitable. However, I have patched boot.img as the same as the version of Nokia. Is such thing still happen?

now do one thing. flash stock boot img (will break wifi), after that download official twrp and boot into it. then from twrp flash twrp zip file provided with official boot img. reboot to twrp and flash latest magisk beta. (you will have wifi working after this)
This way you will get root and stable system.. no need to flash patched boot img anymore..
Make sure to revert back to stock boot first before flashing twrp..

sumitinhome, I just did factory reset. The problem STILL HAPPENS. It means it wasn't any of the app but from the system or the boot.img itself perhaps.
With no way to enter the system, how do i get into the fastboot now? By pressing volume down + Power (That shows DOWNLOAD MODE)? Is that the fastboot? Then yet again, the only issue that I have is the exactly driver for Nokia 8. I found lots of drivers in the internet but I am quite confused which one is the real driver of Nokia 8 to be able to detect in fastboot and ADB. Do you have a driver installer?
Assuming if you will have given Nokia driver and I managed to get into fastboot mode by using hard key, do I type this command?
fastboot flash boot.img? Or is it wrong command?
Thank you and sorry if i ask too many questions.

1. download mode is fastboot mode.. no difference there.
2. unfortunately i dont have installer for drivers but you can find it if you browse nokia section in this forum.
3. you will need command 'fastboot flash boot_a boot.img' and 'fastboot flash boot_b boot.img' to flash stock boot img to your phone..
4. if you wish to install twrp then you will need to follow instructions from following thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-8/development/official-twrp-nb1-t3832232
Make sure to read the thread and comments carefully before doing anything.
Hope it helped.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-8/development/official-twrp-nb1-t3832232
Make sure to read the thread and comments carefully before doing anything.
Hope it helped.

Hey there, thanks for the fast respond. It greatly helps.
Alright, I am waiting for the driver. Also, I checked anywhere in the forum section of Nokia 8 but none of them have 00WW_4.88bSP01 version of stock boot.img which is 1st June 2018 patch.
Do you happen to have had it? Is it okay if i ask for it? Thank you.

Yes sumitinhome, thank you so much. Try make it one upload with the driver. All that and I will do the fastboot command asap..
Oh yeah, one verify question. When the bootloader is unlocked, updating the newest ROM after august will lock the bootloader again or not? Some say yes, some say no. A member name hikari stated no, we are unaffected. But, some say relock again. Which is true?

Ah ha, thank you very much. I just need one more requirement. The driver. Honestly, there are so many drivers for Nokia 8 and none of them seems to work with my device detection. There's also type F, M driver..... Seriously confusing.
@sumitinhome, you are awesome. I must say thank you for helping me. Phone is no longer in bootloop state. However, I may require just little more help. I have also installed TWRP and succeeded. The problem is that the WIFI breaks. I went ahead and installed Magisk using zip one like you mentioned the steps in installing TWRP. It still doesn't solve the WIFI problem. How could this be? (Do note that I did not use fastboot flash twrp.img. I use fastboot boot twrp.img instead)
I also have other questions. During MTP in TWRP, I saw the partition drive; The internal storage and USB-OTG as given in picture below. What is the second drive meaning?
Second question is why is Magisk manager only showing Installed version v17.1? And the button is just uninstalled. I recall there are other buttons and feature like Safety Net and advance settings.
Finally, I want to know how do we get into recovery mode without using ADB command everytime? I tried pressing Volume UP + Power. But, it didn't go into TWRP. It just goes normal reboot.
Thank you so much once again.

Do one thing.
Flash stock boot img again. and after that do the following
1) Full charge your phone.
2) Get a MicroSD card ( 8 or 16 GB )
3) Download this - https://mega.nz/#!mRZHDaJI!3KrT2F0ZE...KQux5EvPWVGI_4
4) Copy it to SDCARD from your PC.
5) Put the SD card in ur mobile.
6) Go to recovery
7) Select update, from SDCARD - start flashing by pressing power button.
This will get back wifi. after that you can update to latest august patch too if you want and then flash twrp.
And about that OTG thing, don't worry twrp is being updated it will be fixed very soon. People are working on it.

I see. Number 3 has Encryption. Also, before i can do this, i have a new problem. I was so stupid. I accidentally format everything including the system which leaves me NO OS. I should have just wipe data (factory reset). Not advanced wipe. Can I still install Stock rom (any version) with twrp? What do i do?
@sumitinhome, also I forgot to mention. SD Card and Internal storage is not detected in TWRP Mode. I checked in my PC. ADB Sideload is also fail. Is this the end of my phone fate?
EDITED: Never mind. I was using the obsolete TWRP Version. I updated to the latest one and SD Card and internal is detected in TWRP once again.

[TOOL][TWRP] EPR - Enchilada Partition Resizer [2.0.1][22.03.20]

Enchilada Partition Resizer for OnePlus 6!
What does this tool do? And what are the benefits? Well. This tool will resize Your system partition size to 6GB allowing You to flash any sGSI (some of them are huge) and my future roms that will require more than 3GB (2850mb roughly) system size. It's pretty problematic for many roms and I just delay them because of this.
DO NOT use it on 7 Pro, OP7 or anything else. (6T Tested and works)
I also added a backup feature of Your stock partition table just in case. Might be useful for some people.
Known Issues
You might get stuck in fastboot until You flash a ROM
How to Use:
MAKE SURE TO BACKUP EFS, DATA AND PERSIST (if possible) BEFORE USING IT!
Also make sure You're not currently using EPR! (If You already used 1.0 and Your system is still 6GB, no need for 2.0)
Boot into TWRP (Tested on BluSpark)
Flash EPR zip that matches Your storage
Reboot to bootloader (fastboot menu)
Run any force wipe flasher of a rom that You want to use.
Wait till it finishes flashing and done!
If You want to go back, simply flash EPR Remover and Format data + wipe system.

When You're in a fastboot lock, You have to check what partition is active and then set it as active again.
So on windows if You resize A. And end up in fastboot lock.
You should use
fastboot --set-active=
(It will show You current slot)
and then
fastboot --set-active=a
If Your slot is a.
I have no idea why this happens but oh well. One day we will have 3 slots so let's appreciate 2 :silly:
Gonna try this to install OP7 Android 10 Rom Port, thanks. I Was on it all night long wondering why I couldn't make it working.
EDIT : Still stuck in fastboot mode even after typing fastboot --set-active=a (I resized a, yep), can't go to recovery. But maybe it's related to Android Q ? was on Q DP3 before resizing. Or Maybe it's because the OP7 ROm Port is hard to install aha. After cheking, system is 6Gb size so I guess your software is okay.

follow this steps
if you are stuck in bootloader bootloop do this
1. msm download tool than back to OOS 5.1.11
2. unlock bootloader
3. manual update to OOS Q DP3
4. install patched boot to get magisk without root there you can find partched boot.img https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/patched-boot-image-magisk-16-7-beta-t3818853
4. this step is because android Q dont let you boot to TWRP by bootloader
5. install TWRP Zip with magisk
6. boot to recovery and open ERP Script to resize your partition and chose partition a
7. in bootloader put fastboot set_active b and then boot to recovery
8. select partition a
9. do a factory reset, wipe data
10. boot to bootloader
11. open OP7 Android 10 Port scrip
12. in bootloader put fastboot set_active a
13. done
if you phone still doesnt boot go to bootloader set_active b go to recovery, chose partition a in twrp and do a factory reset and wipe data again and reinstall OP7 port.
is the only way its worked for me. i hope it works for you.
sorry about my english.
The command window just vanishes after typing in the partition and hitting enter. Have tried entering both `a` and `b` and even tried running the batch file as an administrator. Anyone else facing this issue on Windows?

tried a lot of ways.
1) MSM to go to 9.0.8
2) unlock bootloader and install twrp
3) boot twrp (with 9.0.8)
4) install dp 3 + twrp, reboot to recovery and repeat for both slots
5) on slot A, run EPR
6) at fastboot with no other way except to use msm because no command (such as set_active) makes it boot. at this point, i can't even go to recovery/bokt recovery (as Q doesn't support boot command)
method 2)
repeat the same except i ran EPR with 9.0.8 same issue. goes to bootloader always

Root + TWRP on Android 10 Post OTA?

I installed the Stable Android 10 on my GM1910 via TWRP, totally forgetting about maintaining root and TWRP.
So how do I bring back TWRP and root?
fastboot boot doesn't seem to work, I managed to pull the boot.img and patch it with Magisk from another device but flashing it through fastboot ends up in an endless bootanimation.
Could anyone help me? here's a link of the boot.img i pulled, it works if you flash it without magisk patching it.
Link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1O8lF1UDwwu0zT8ro5Q1gKKfdxF-HGPEW/view?usp=sharing
(Almost) exactly the same here. I tired flashing a patched boot.img, it actually boots - but magisk manager gets stuck on the splash screen and some apps, including chrome, won't start. Trying to boot TWRP results in the phone getting stuck on the "fastboot mode" screen.
My only solution would be to downgrade, root, keep the upgrade this time. But because my ISP is doing some maintenance work I don't have wifi - and restoring my phone through mobile data does not seem to work correctly.
EDIT: In fastboot, neither bootloader version nor baseband version are show, product name is "msmnile". Has this always been that way?
EDIT 2, solution:
I extracted the boot.img from the device, and patched it using magisk on the same phone:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-Gf-6iXSFuYT5xDR-mnLKANvkXUHal9e/view?usp=sharing
Run this command in fastboot so you know which is the CURRENT active slot :
Code:
fastboot getvar current-slot
Run this command so you can flash the correct slot :
Code:
fastboot flash boot_X magisk_patched.img
replace X with the a or b from the command before.
:good:

Hi sorry to hear that you got this problem and hopefully it gets fixed. I have another question: does that mean using TWRP to completely clean the device then installing Android 10 via zip will remove TWRP and fastboot everything? Does that mean after installing, everything will be refreshed like a box opened phone?

Either one should work if the rom and the rooted boot image is on it (If you are rooting). That's why you should install using TWRP, if you look in the reboot menu it will show you the active slot.

You are supposed to flash it in the one that IS the active one. Because you do want to root the slot that you'll be booting.

Same.
I've read that Q/10 is different and you can't install TWRP like that anymore. Supposedly you need to use the MSM tool or the all-in-one tool but I've tried both of those and still can't boot to TWRP.

Hopefully there will be a solution. I had tried to update from Pie to Q10 while staying rooted and it didn't work. So I had to wipe the whole device and decided to wait for a smoother root method for my device. If you have any other ideas about rooting Q10 let me know. Thank you

I extracted the boot.img from the device, and patched it using magisk on the same phone:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-Gf-6iXSFuYT5xDR-mnLKANvkXUHal9e/view?usp=sharing
Run this command in fastboot so you know which is the CURRENT active slot :
Code:
fastboot getvar current-slot
Run this command so you can flash the correct slot :
Code:
fastboot flash boot_X magisk_patched.img
replace X with the a or b from the command before.
:good:

Stuck at Fastboot booting when flashed img and also zip

I updated my phone to 10 last night, followed the same guide as I have for every other update but this time I lost root for some reason.
I still have TWRP recovery on there but it can't read internal storage so I can't flash Magisk.
I tried changing file system to ext 2 then back to 4 and then repairing it as I read elsewhere and this wiped the phone obviously but internal storage seemed to be working until I set the phone up again, downloaded Magisk, rebooted to recovery and I'm back where I started, internal storage showing as 0mb in TWRP.
Any ideas how to fix?

Can't Boot to twrp recovery (just displying twrp logo)

Hi guys,
just received from my sister a oneplus 6 and i tried to flash a new custom rom after updating the system. I was following the guide posted on these forum but, when i tried to boot from fastboot to twrp it just display endless the twrp logo. I tried to boot with an older twrp or blu spark but nothing, they all make QUALCOMM crashdump, just the latest never go past the twrp logo. Tried to search for someone with a similar problem but i couldnt find anything about my same problem. Thanks in advance.

Which android version are you? 9 10 11?
1. Unlock Bootloader (if is already unlocked, skip this step)
2. download platform tools and unpack
3. copy twrp img and installer zip to platform tools folder location
4. open cmd
5. reboot phone to bootloader
6. write in cmd fastboot erase userdata
7. then write fastboot boot twrp-file-image-name.img
8. twrp is booted, go to advanced and choos option Flash current twrp
9. if is done, then reboot to recovery
10. go to wipe option, choose format data and type yes
11. now you can flash rom using rom flashing instructions
12. remember, after done rom flashing, FLASH twrp installer
@Noob9496 hey dude thanks, i found Someone who had my same problem and I resolved too with fastboot erase userdata so I could had finally boot into twrp cause that was my main problem.
@croperas yeah that was the problem too, cause when I had finally my sweet rom, syberia os (the only android 12 available atm for op6) I tried to go back to the recovery but can't, tried reinstall everything but I couldn't so after some research couldn't find anything, but anyone who had problems with recovery almost always had problems with incompatible versions (like twrp for android 10 but had android 11) so I then realized it isn't still available a custom recovery for android 12 for op6. So after erasing everything its all fine. Thanks a lot guys really appreciated.

I have the same problem after flashing OO 11.1.2.2. I made a mistake flashing the wrong patched image to get rooted again but doing this I lost the access to twrp and now there is no recovery anymore. If I try to boot into any older version of twrp I receive a crashdump, if I try to boot to twrp 3.6.0 it gets stuck to logo. If I use the command "fastboot erase userdata" do I lose something?

Is there another way to restore twrp?
I don't use twrp anymore. Attached is Magisk patched boot for OP6 11.1.2.2 I patched from the latest payload.
fastboot flash boot_a magisk_patched-23000_OP6_11.1.2.2.img
fastboot flash boot_b magisk_patched-23000_OP6_11.1.2.2.img

Install the twrp installer directly from magisk
What I did was trying to install Lineage OS 18.1 (the latest nightly from Jan 11 2022) with Lineage OS Recovery. Following the official wiki I always got stuck in the lineage os boot animation. Never got past that. Tried to fastboot boot twrp.img but TWRP stuck on logo. I think I never tried to boot twrp with the userdata erased. I think I will try it.
Anyone trying to install the twrp, check out SHRP recovery for OP6/t. Boot the img and flash the zip from that thread. tested works with both OP6 and OP6t in OOS 11.1.2.2.
