What are you trying to backup? Your ROM? You can backup the ROM using Mestrini's Wizard Service Tool (WST for short).

[Q]Flashing related..basics

I was quite disappointed by not getting a reply to my questions in my phone section so i decided to post it here, hope you guys'll help me out.
Before i perform flashing a rom, i have a couple of questions to ask you.
1. I'm not familiar with nandroid backup and all that. So if someone can give me some explaination of how it works and what i need to do to have a backup of my rom so i can flash back to orignal one whenever i want?
2. Also i heard from people that after flashing some ROMs, you can't get back to stock rom (recovery), if so then how you know that certain rom isn't flashable
3. Is there a difference between recovering (flashing stock rom) and downgrading? if so then what?
4. How can one brick cellphone and how to recover back, is it easy to brick?
Also some basics if i need to know so that i don't brick my cellphone and can easily get back to my official rom whenever i want. Please do tell me anything which i should know, Thanks !

[Q] Install 4.2.2 official google ROM on HTC One 802w

First off, I'd like to say thank you in advance for any help I receive. I'm not an expert by any means at this - I would consider myself amateur at best!
I'm fairly desperate at this point - I've been trying for days to solve this myself by following various tutorials and forums, but have had no luck, so I'm really hoping someone here is willing to help me out!
What I've been trying to do:
Install official Google 4.2.2 Jellybean on HTC One 802w Dual sim model.
Current State of phone:
The phone is currently rooted and has clockwork mod installed and SuperSu 1.65 and has moonshine installed. However, I've had absolutely no luck in finding or flashing a 4.2.2 ROM onto the phone. I cannot find a ROM to match the phone - all the zips I download from this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43177948&postcount=369 say that they're corrupted and can't be copied to the phone or extracted. I find this really weird as I've checked the MD5 with HashCalc and they match. I have searched around other sites but cannot for the life of me find a ROM that works.
If it isn't possible to install the official Google ROM, I would be ecstatic if someone were to guide me through the process of restoring the phone to a complete factory state. I downloaded a supposed recovery img file for this phone, however it doesn't seem to work, so I flashed clockwork back on instead.
If anyone can help me with either of these things, I would be EXTREMELY grateful - I've reached a point where I'm at a complete loss on what to do.
Thank you very much for your time

Dear Scott,
I was looking for a way to install a Google Play Edition on my HTC One 802w when I stumbled upon your post.
Although I cannot help you with your primary goal, as I have not found a way to do it myself, I think you may have a chance to get your phone back to work installing an alternative ROM.
I have a MaximusHD (http://llabtoofer.com/2013/07/23/htc-one-dual-sim-maximushd/) running on my phone, and it is pretty customizable; but it is not a stock ROM.
I hope my advice will be of some use for you.
If you find a way to flash a Google Edition ROM on the 802w, please, post it for us here.
Good luck!
Me too, looking for alternative custom ROM for this model. I had to buy this model which comes from China Unicom which is not sold in my country (Malaysia) because i really need a good dual sim phone. I read thru the Maximus HD had some issues with dropped calls and Bluetooth connection sometimes not stable. Is there other custom ROM out there that I can try? Really hate all these chinese apps taking up space on this phone.

Help with data partition. Can't install large apps or APKs

Hello everyone!
I've got a Redmi Note 7 Pro running MIUI 10 (rooted). I described my situation originally in this thread and another user helped me troubleshoot my problem (successfully, I hope).
tl;dr: I can't install any large apps (games like COD Mobile that weight +1gb). The downloads go all the way up to 100% in the Google Play Store and then silently fail upon installation. Same with APKs that I try to install through other app stores like Qooapp or APKPure, I always get a message saying there's not enough storage space or that the parent directory cannot be created, even though I've got about 90gb of available space.
Smaller apps (usually below 90mb) always download and install just fine.
Has any of you encountered this problem before on your Redmi Note 7 Pro? If so, how did you fix it? In my other thread, I was told it probably was being caused by a lack of space in the data partition. Would I need to repartition my device if that's the case? What about getting an SD card and moving some apps to the external memory to release space? Any other ideas will be greatly appreciated
its better to clean install Fastboot rom . its a best option to get good results.just take a backup if you need and flash the rom. i recommend selecting flash all.
link for Fastboot rom if you need it

This would be for the repartitioning process? I'm sorry, I'm not very knowledgeable with these procedures. It was actually a friend of mine who rooted my device for me. I'm going to need a little bit of guidance on how to use this.
Or if you (or anyone else) have got a solution that doesn't involve flashing roms or anything that could potencially do harm to my device, that would be much better. I'm a little bit scared of applying these procedures and bricking my phone. That's why I mentioned the SD card method. Would that one work? Thanks in advance

the flashing method is the safest and xiaomi supported method.
the problem you are telling is a rare one and it may have one or more cause which may be small enough to remain unseen so to get rid of the problem its flashing stock rom is recommended.
rather than waiting for someone to experience same problem and get solution its better to do this.
why take risk in sd card method as its not much of useful in this case.
just flash the rom with mi flash tool and more important thing is its risk free.
here is step by step tutorial for flashing
