Issue with USB-C audio - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi everyone, I posted this on the OP7T Pro forum but just thought I checked here as well.
I was trying to use the USB-C pixel buds as well as USB-C to 3.5mm converter with the OP7T Pro.
Initially it didn't work as when I plugged in the earphones, there was no sound. But after rebooting the device, the earphones started working and there's a notification icon at the top that the earphone was detected.
Fast forward half a day later, it stopped working again. Just wondering if anyone had this issue before? Thanks in advance everyone!

same issue
i have a same issue i cant solve that.

Confirmed the issue is due to charging of the phone on my Pixel 3XL's charger. When I charge using my Pocophone's charger or the one that comes in the box, the issue does not occur. Leaving this here in case anyone else faces the same issue in the future.

I'm seeing the same issue

google car dock - headphone jack noise

I just got my official car dock the other day. It works fine, but one problem I have with it, is when my phone is in the dock, it causes noise/feedback on the auxiliary in to my stereo(which is hooked up to the n1). If I pop it out of the dock, it's fine, no noise.
Anyone else experiencing this problem? Any fix? It's pretty much at the point where I don't want to listen to music on the phone if it's plugged into the dock....

A friend of mine (@gIMpSTa) told me it's caused by the car-dock power supply (cigarette lighter) sharing the same ground with your car-stereo...Which makes sense..... Change the ground wire on your stereo or cigarette lighter and you should be good to go!!
yep, its alternator noise caused by a poor ground, could be the lighter port or could be in the engine bay. I would suggest just hard wiring the charger which is what im gonna do when i get the car dock.
I should be able to hardwire it anywhere I can find 5v? It only draws 2 amps if I recall, so that shouldn't be much of an issue...
Hey guys, would this solve my problem?

I wouldn't think so, since it's still being plugged into the same adapter, but just thought I'd check

[Q] Nexus 5 Microphone Buzz noise after installing new charging port

Hi Guys,
I had an issue with mic earlier also, but it was low voice and soon after that my usb charging stopped working. So i was left with wireless charging for some time. I got my charging port today and usb charging is now working fine so is PC to USB connection, but my Mic is worst than before... it give continuous static noise.
Sorry, your avatar
Useless reply above.
Does this buzz only happen when you're charging, or is it constant regardless of whether you're plugged in?
If its regardless, perhaps the connection to the microphone is loose (I'm not sure which module the mic is part of)?

HTC U11 Bad microphones and loose charging port

So guys, I need some help...my HTC U11 suddenly stopped to record voice/sounds (whatsapp, fb messenger) not even working with stock recorder, then people could not hear me when making calls. Restarted on safe mode and run all the diagnostics but it didn't pick the voice in any way, some weeks later also the charging phone didn't recognize type C earphones neither the type C dongle, I had to move it a little bit so it can connect normally...but it worked normally with the charger (a bit strange) So I took it to repair since is not under warranty anymore, everything works OK, phone turns on, no screen damage, camera, performance, all fine except the issues mentioned above. Thing is, technician said he replaced all microphones but the problem remains, also the charging port is loose (that I can understand) but he says that in order to make it work he would need to replace the whole motherboard, but it looks to me like too much since the phone is not dead at all. I'm no expert but it looks to me I am right, wouldn't be just enough with microphones and charging port flex replacement?I I sincerely hope some of you can give me a better idea or if I'm right or not, since of course replacing the whole motherboard would increase the replacement cost. Thanks for your help.
Why is it not under warranty anymore?

I'm from PerĂº and bought it from an external source since it is the 6 GB/128 GB version (tried to contact warranty but HTC said it was supposed to be seen by the origin country (phone was bought in Hong Kong) so you know, just by sending it over it would really cost a lot.
Send it back and get a refund. I highly advise you don't pay for anything and contact the supplier. They might cover the costs of postage if you ask nicely. If they don't, the cost of packaging and posting to HK won't be anywhere near the cost of the phone itself, or the cost of a motherboard.
Once you have your refund you can buy another phone from a location more reliable and closer to home as the 6/128 has now gone worldwide.

Dude!!! Yes!!! Same issue here. My phone doesn't recognize when it's been charged, and it only charges to 87% and the led light doesnt turn red at all. My mic isn't working either. When I make calls I have to have it on speaker so the other mics kick in. I have already replaced the charging port which also includes the main mic but no success. Hopefully someone will be able to help us. Other than that, u11 is great.

Hmmmm, I have to say i have some similar issues, except for the MIC problems. Connecting the official charger + cable does not charge the device. Nothing seems to happen. Connecting the official HTC USB-C headphones also does nothing. However when connecting the charger or the headphones and restarting the phone does work (i.e phones charges, headphones detected).
As said I do not have issues with the microphone. Seems software? Reset to Factory settings?

Did you ever figure out what it only worked after restarting while connected?

USB-C headphone adapter inline mic issue?

I've had a consistent issue with my Pixel2's headphone adapter.
When on a phone call with headphones and an inline mic, I hear the headphone mic fed into the headphones, but ONLY when on a call in the phone app. (Mute button still feeds audio)
Does anyone else have this problem? I have a thread of users on a google forum all with the same problem, new Dongle replacements and even replacement phones doesn't seem to fix it.
Is this a known issue? Should I return my phone and try again?
My inline mic on my headphones doesn't work. I don't know if the standards changed or what is the cause.

This is the thread listing other people with the same issue. I'm surprised this hasn't surfaced on XDA yet.
I've tried numerous headphones, confirmed they work on other devices (worked on my nexus 6p and lg g3, and laptop), and it isn't even an issue when using VOIP / skype / slack.
The problem only occurs when on a phone call, and persists even when on "mute". There is almost no delay in the sound feeding back into the headphones, it isn't a carrier issue (as google tech support already suggested, SMH), so it must be isolated to the adapter AND/OR phone app.

Help (Wired Headphones not working)

So my wired headphones stopped working few days back. They were working fine a week ago but suddenly they stopped working. My usb type-c port is also fine. Charging with each and every cable perfectly. My wired type-c headphones are fine because they are working perfectly with other phones as well as 3rd party dongle which is working fine with "charging rapidly" as before but not audio output, "Disable audio routing from usb" under developer option is also fine. Its not showing any message like incompatibility but the sound is not playing from the headphones, the audio is routing from the phone speakers.
Mines the same with the USB pixel buds takes ages to get them to work again. Also noticed that when I charge the device it goes really slow until I twist round the USB c head and it will fast charge again with the same charging lead?? Think the USB c port is on its way pay out.

I dont need to twist or something with the cable, it turns out with charging rapidly automatically, but today i also realize that pc connectivity is also not working with this. :crying:

Had a similar problem. Needed rubber bands to hold the cable at just the right angle to charge or connect to PC - as long as I didn't sneeze.
Suspecting pocket lint I used Q-Tips, toothpicks, and compressed air to try to clean out charging port without luck.
I was ready to go to new device when I dialed it up to metal safety pin. Was last resort as you risk doing serious damage to your charging port, but either way the device had become useless to me.
I was amazed as the pocket lint just kept falling out and falling out - couldn't believe how much and how tightly it was packed in there. This method also worked for a friend who had given up on his Pixel.
Device works fine now but be aware that rooting around in the charging port with something metal could do serious damage.
That's why I always clean my pant's pocket. It also happened to me before with micro usb port of an older device.
