unable to boot in TWRP - Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro Questions & Answers

hello guys please help me I unable to boot my redmi note 6 Pro into TWRP mode I have tried both the USB ports on my laptop and I have tried changing the USB cord also..
Please help

Did u ask google?
Btw, check ur cables, remember that ADB loves USB 2.0 more than 3.0
Use latest ADB drivers.
Maybe ur recovery image is corrupted, redownload.

If you are sure that you have the correct recovery image, then run "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img". When it has finished flashing the image, boot the recovery with the Power + Volume up key combination.

[Q] (Q) How to leave bootloop after Adding Recovery went wrong in an attempt to root

Hi,
I used jaggyjags Tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415223 for unlocking and rooting my HTC Explorer.
I managed to unlock the bootloader.
When I set to adding a recovery and ran the recovery.bat, nothing happened and after waiting 30 minutes of waiting for "writing recovery" I unplugged the phone and rebooted it.
I tried again and failed again. So I panicked a bit and selected _Factory Reset_ in the Boot Menu and now the phone wont even boot any more.
How can I get out of this mess?
Let me note the following things:
-In Fastboot mode the phone says unlocked in the top line
-When I try to run the recovery.bat again I get a _<waiting for device>_ prompt.
I would greatly appreciate on how to fix this.
cheers, akilaki
Have u turned usb debugging to on before running the bat file? If not go in settings--->manage apps---->development and tick usb debugging!

You shouldnt have factory reset the phone after unlocking the bootloader.... this creates a bootloop. Anyways, are you still able to access the CWM recovery??

In the original tutorial, there was no mention of a CWM recovery.
Gathering from reading, are supposing that I should try to flash the CWM recovery.img onto the phone via fastboot command?
Tried to flash the CWM recovery.img and that is the result I got:
-fastboot flash recovery cwmrecovery.img
->sending 'recovery'
->OKAY (0.871s)
->writing 'recovery'
and then nothings happens. No OKAY, on indication of finishing, no indication of activity or completion even after waiting some minutes.
Then I chose Reboot from the phone menu
and got the following message:
->FAILED (status read failed (Unknown error))
->finished. total time 698.061s
Any pointers, what might go wrong?
Try TWRP.

This problem may happen due to your USB cable also. Try to check ur cable is working properly or gave a try with another USB cable... I face similar problem with my USB cable but i had some other USB cable compatible for my phone so it resolve that problem.
Also post ur phone screen snap when u flashing the Recovery here and also the cmd screen shot...

The problem was my Windows Installation. I used my XP virtual machine (on an iMac) for the whole procedure. When everything else failed I hooked the phone up to a Windows7 machine and voila, the phone booted into recovery.
So actually the flashing of the recovery was successful after all ...
Thanks to everybody for all the pointers in the thread.
Flash again with same rom
after flashing do clear/wipe data
that is very important which prevents any boot loop

OK in short terms:
I highly recommend to change to TWRP 2.7.1.1 or latest philz recovery. (first I think you have to unlock your bootloader)
Next ...like you allready posted... try to sideload or push your sense 6 ROM
And yes I know sideload needs some patience...

I think its an driver issue....check your drivers first..
Lo0k into device manager in windows what your HTC M_4 is listed.
Is there maybee an (!) ?
Your device should be listed under "my HTC" then fastboot should work correct.
Don´t use Windows 8 many driver problems reported rather use Windows 7

You never said which OS you're using. Just re-installing the drivers usually won't fix an issue with usb.
Have you tried another cable? Tried plugging into a different USB port?
When you go into device manager, do you see any android, or HTC devices?

don't despair and do something rash. I doubt your phone is ruined. I had a lot of trouble getting drivers to work in Windows 7 and thought I had ruined my phone too. Once I got drivers working it was super easy to get my phone running again.

Do you have access to another computer? Preferably windows XP? Or can you install a clean copy of Windows 7 onto your current computer? I've read other people have success booting to Ubuntu from a disc as well.

So,
Mr jollywhitefoot If you read carefully you will see that he write in first post:
" I can't mount on otg, recovery says Internal storage 0mb OTG 0mb" so why do you think this will happen.???"
Yes because the partitions are messed up and if you not format them, you will never ever get them to work.
All others that have resurrected their phones here have formatted partitions before or flashed a firmawre where it will be done also.
So if I recommend to try formatting partitions there is a reason for....nothing to warn of for you in this case!!!
And if you recommend this guy to setup a linux distribution from a live cd then advise him also to setup adb + fastboot in linux correctly.

If you're installing stock rom you must have stock recovery. If you're installing newer version of current rom do a wipe data, wipe dalvik and wipe cache.

Its not a PC problem, my phone is bricked!
Did you try different USB cables and USB ports? Try a different computer?
So there is no life at all when connected to a battery charger? Was the battery fully charged before flashing?
Maybe try opening the phone, disconnecting the battery from the mobo for about a minute, reconnect battery, insert charging cable, and see what happens?

the bootloader dosen´t change between caf or non caf, its the same one since it isnt an open source project. if it dosent detect then its a driver/connection problem.
however if you got to the bootloader, i would choose then to use download mode, which you can do with

If you are getting the word "BULK" in device manager, I think it is bricked. You need it to say "9008" somewhere in the device name.

Restore your old OS.
Try again get into recovery being certain to power phone off (hold power button down for 20 seconds if need be), then while holding vol down button, press power button and turn phone on, not releasing vol down button until you see 1+ logo.
From your recovery you can start USB OTG and get the rom on that way.
