Hi all
I'm looking for an app for the SW2 that enables me to pause and play (quite often) audio books using Poweramp. Preferably I don't want to have to tap loads of times to do this!
Many thanks in advance
Here it is:

Thanks for that
Has anyone actually used it? I simply want to know how easy it is to pause then play a track.
Try it. I'm using it, it works nice for me.

I haven't bought the watch yet! Lol. It all depends on whether it does what I want it to (I'm in and out of client's premises all day so need to 'fiddle' as least as possible )
So can you tell me how many presses/taps it takes to pause, then play a track, please?

Just tap on the screen and the music stops. Further you can manage volume and next/former song. You have the art as background if your mp3 disposes of this.
Works great

Wow. So just one tap, nothing else (ie turning watch display on) pauses the track, and another tap will start playing?
Of course you have to press the hardware button first to wake the smartwatch from standby state!

Ah OK. Just thinking about that, when you wake the watch up how long does the screen stay on before it goes back to standby? Can you adjust this setting?
Cheers!
Not adjustable, the time is ~5sec.

I see. So, it's a press of the button then one tap to pause. Then another press of the button then one tap to play? I think I can live with that
Really appreciate your response - I think my mind's made up. I want one!
Just another quickie. If I receive a Whatsapp msg can I read it on the watch screen?
Yeah. With a help of WatchIt app (notifications) you can read the WhatsApp message too.

Great. The more I learn about the watch the sooner I want to buy it!
Do you know if the rubber strap can be replaced? Or is it integral?
It's a standard 24mm strap that can be changed. Any 24mn bracelet can do.

Or rather, you should double tap the power button then you go directly to last open app that would normally be poweramp control pro.
Before I knew this procedure I was rather dissaponted with the watch (this is not mentioned in the user guide)
from the start I pressed power button - home - app, then I could control the music.
Hey Guys,
I bought a brand new Honor 6x yesterday and rooted it ( I followed a thread from XDA). Unlocked bootloader, flashed twrp and then installed SuperSU. I want this device to use one and only one app which I have developed. Problem is that, after starting the app, one background service is started, but the Honor 6X is killing them randomly. Very frequent. Even the onDestroy method is not getting called in that scenario.
I know that when we remove the app from task manager, the services gets killed in the Honor 6X, but in my case, I just minimise the app and then also the services gets killed.
Is this something related to rooting? I tried rooting Nexus 5 and in that also, the services gets killed.
Any help will be helpful.

It's not an app man it's EMUI settings menu, battery sub menu. "Batteria" stands for Battery in english. Just browse to settings -> battery and you'll find the same section of my screenshot.

No. Sadly it didn't work out as expected. After adding app in that list, now the services are not getting killed but at the same time, the services are not getting called correctly.
Like, I call a particular service every 1 minute, when the screen is turned on, it works perfectly. But as soon as the screen gets off/ or the app is minimized, the service starts randomly. Like sometime it will get fired after 2 min, sometime 4 min and rarely at a mentioned frequency i.e 1 min.
Any idea why this is happening. The frequency in which the service is called is very important for my application.
Thanks.

No other ideas at the moment...
Go to settings>battery, go to settings icon on top right, make sure everything off in there. I only turn on keep mobile data on during sleep (keep whatsapp always online).
Then go to settings>memory & storage>storage cleaner, go to settings icon on top right and turn off auto clean.
Lastly go to settings>apps, choose the apps that u want always active, go to battery, make sure system wake up on, after that go to write system settting, make it yes.
Remember to restart phone after settings applied.
See if it works.

[APP] Ring Master - vibrate first, gradually ring for phone calls, WhatsApp & more
Play Store Link
About a month back I happened to read this article on XDA about Pixel's new feature that makes the phone vibrate first and then ring gradually. I have seen this gradual ring on some phones but never with "vibrate first". In about 3 weeks I managed to come up with Ring Master that will bring this feature to all other Android devices, with option to customise vibrate duration, ringer duration and volume percentage as well.
I was about to release it when I wondered if I could extend it to other voice calling apps as well besides regular phone. Unlike phone calls, Android OS doesn't provide any API for a developer to detect when an incoming call comes on a messenger app like WhatsApp or Duo. I had to find a workaround for this and I am happy to say I have a nearly perfect working system now. This means perhaps for the first time you can now have gradually increasing ringtone for your WhatsApp and other voice calls as well. You can select which all apps you want to enable it and Ring Master will ignore if a call comes in any other app.
One concern about these ringer apps is how it will behave when your phone is in silent mode. Rest assured, if your phone is in Silent/Vibrate or Do Not Disturb mode, Ring Master won't do anything at all. Similarly, it only changes your ringer volume when it has to. Your media, notification, alarm volumes are left untouched.
The app as such is free if you use it in its default configuration. You can even test the settings before applying. But in order to apply the changed settings, you need to upgrade to Pro version that costs just $0.99.
Please test out the app and let me know your thoughts. As always, in case you encounter any issue, please write to [email protected] before leaving a review on Play Store.

There was an issue with the first version not working on some devices. This was fixed on v1.02. Is that the version you tried?

I haven't used promo codes yet. I think there are some restrictions from Google regarding the number of times codes can be generated in a month and also need to have some additional code in-app to check for promo code based purchases.

Hi!
It's a great idea to implement this app.
I want to test it some days, in order to try it and check it if I get use to it, but as I only have the default options, the max volume it gets is 30% (to low for me) and I can't use it, because I could miss phone calls.
There is a chance to change the max volume in order to try the app? If not, don't worry. And seriously, good app.
Thanks in advance!

In the Settings screen you can click the Test button to see if vibration and ringer works to your needs. But yes, you cannot apply the setting in free version.
I would request you to upgrade to full version and try it out with actual phone call. And no need to worry about refund window. Any time you feel like the app isn't satisfactory, please feel free to write to [email protected] with your order number. I will issue a full refund.
Nevermind...
Sorry!
It's just as mentioned earlier, it doesn't show change in volume bar, but still adjusts volume.
It still shows numbers though...

Sorry for the troubles you had with our app. Would you mind sharing a screen recording along with the details of your device and app version at [email protected]? It will help us to assist you in a better manner.
Is there any way to set a specific apps volume?
I am literally going mad over the fact that Google assistant is linked to media volume. Since I always have media volume at 25% I can't hear what the assistant says...
I've tried Google with no avail, I can only find threads leading to a Samsung store locked app and to apps removed from play store.
I am rooted and I've looked at magisk modules but can't find anything there either.
Is it just impossible on pixel devices to adjust assistant volume seperate from media volume?
Macrodroid/Tasker would work.
Would be something like:
If "google assistant" in foreground set volume to "x%".

I tried looking at tasker but I can't find Google assistant as an app there.
And also, I couldn't understand how to get it to turn volume back to previous value afterwards when I was testing around on other apps.

idk about tasker but im sure you can do it with macrodroid.
You can pick the app or define the package name.
You can pick actual volume probably with macrodroid internal tools but 100% with command line (adb shell dumpsys audio) you can store the value in a custom variable and restore this value if assistant is not in foreground anymore.
I sure its doable with macrodroid

I tried using macrodroid now but it doesn't do anything when I speak to assistant. I allowed accessibility option, root, disabled battery optimization etc but it won't do anything. Tried using screen content as well but same result unfortunately.
Is it anything wrong with the macro itself?
Edit: added another image to show some other triggers I've tried.

Its working for me.
If i say hey google media is set to 100%, if i exit it get set to 25%.
You only need a way now to capture the volume you used before. Thats pretty easy too. I can look tomorrow or later if you cant get it to work.

Tried your macro but still doesn't do anything. If I just try it on something else, say phone app it works flawlessly same as mine did, but not Google assistant. Have you installed the play store version (asking because I can install the store version but it's already installed with the stock os so I haven't)?

I tried to make this work in Tasker, and at least on QPR3 I couldnt get it to work....the app is Assistant so should be one of the first apps in the list.

I made a full wipe today and installed latest A13 stable release from march 13.
You might like to tick the box to show system apps and try it with the 2 assistant apps (xenrollment and the other).
You might need to install Macrodroid Helper app....

I have the assistant boxes checked (both of them) in the previous image I've posted.
I also tried installing the play store version of assistant to see if that made any difference but no, macrodroid does nothing when assistant opens.
I'll try macrodroid helper later to see if that makes any difference.
Update: it now just works, well, wonky but it works. I set a timer instead of the trigger fired and it works, but only when the phone is unlocked. If it's sleeping and I ask the assistant something it won't raise the volume, or rather the triggers won't work. Is this normal or have I missed a setting that prevents macrodroid from working while the phone is sleeping?
If you're rooted you could use this:
https://www.xda-developers.com/app-volume-control-individual-volume-levels-android/
It allows to individually set volumes per app.
I'm using it to be able to let Spotify run as background music while playing games.

Doesn't work either, I tried it earlier and I tried iy again just to be sure, I manually add Google and Google assistant at 100% volume but it doesn't do anything. I made sure to disable macrodroid as well just in case it would interfere but it made no difference.
Also, that app won't recognize assistant in the audio stream, so I don't think it will be able to control the volume from assistant. That's what I gathered from reading the documentation as well.
