Dull colors on OneUI 2.0 Beta - Samsung Galaxy S10e Questions & Answers

Does anyone feel like the colors on the screen are duller on the Beta than before? I don't know if it's me. I have the Vivid profile with no blue light filter right now and I performed the Enhanced colors on Accessibility settings also. But I still feel like the colors don't POP anymore...

From the OneUI 2 promo video, they show that the new colors are brighter but i feel like on the beta the colors are the same, i don't know if the new colors are added yet.
source: https://youtu.be/wxwycoG41fc?t=44

Well right now I can't say if it's same to me it felt like they're more opaque but I did compare it to a retail S10+ I came across at the store today and it was at full brightness and I put my S10e at full brightness as well and side to side the difference was disappointing for me. The screen was so much brighter and colors so much more vivid it wasn't even a contest. I don't have any warranty so Im stuck until hopefully the Official Release corrects this. Thanks though, I had not seen that video. It shines a light of hope

The Beta 2 that just released with November patch foxed the colors for me! First thing I noticed when the phone booted!!!

i don't know if i'm running the Beta 2 with november patch (phone says it's up to date), but i just compared the colors from my Phone and Message apps with a screenshot from june, using Photoshop to get the exact color #****** and they are exactly the same for me

yes it says security patch : november 1st 2019

Oh man. Then I don't know what to tell you. I know mine was definently software related but if yours is still like that maybe the official release might fix it as One Ui 2 is supposed to bring more vivid colors on its own.

Oh ok, good to know. I thought it was the new ones cause they're so much brighter and saturated than the first beta for me. Nevertheless I guess I have my screen working good and the brighter colors will come in time.

[APP] Best Live Wallpaper Ever

This is the best and most efficient live wallpaper ever. It uses absolutely no additional battery over a standard wallpaper, WORKS ON ANY AND ALL VERSIONS OF ANDROID, ROOTED AND UNROOTED ALIKE, and has a cool animation to boot. Sheer Awesomeness.
Edit: Updated version to size properly by increasing size and adding small black bars at top and bottom!
6/10/2010: NOW FROYO COMPATIBLE!
Find it here.
UPDATE 4/28: Have compiled the Ultimat3LiveWallpaper into a Metamorph theme compatible with both free and pro versions. This will only work with Launcher2 , and not currently with HelixLauncher2. Due to the overwhelming amount of time and effort these themes take, I am unsure of an ETA for a HelixLauncher2 version. May wait until December of 2012, because if the world does in fact end before then, it would be a waste of said time and effort. Find it HERE!
Like my work? Buy me a Hot Dog!
Edit: Now modified to work on Fascinate!

Download the file to your computer where you can push it via adb.
Create a folder on your SD card directory named Wallpapers
Rename the file you downloaded to Ultimat3Wallpaper.jpeg
Then adb push Ultimat3Wallpaper.jpeg /sdcard/Wallpapers/Ultimat3Wallpaper.jpeg
Shut the phone all the way down, and wait for the charge light to turn green
Reboot into recovery
wipe your battery stats
reboot again
Goto menu, then Wallpaper
Select gallery
Select Wallpapers folder
select Ultimat3Wallpaper, and viola!

perhaps you are staring at it from the wrong angle? Looking dead on is optimal, and keep any very obfuscatory widgets off your screen. If you make those adjustments and still have issues, try wiping the rotate settings, probably an accelerometer issue.

Incorrect. The battery drain from the wallpaper is no less than from any other where 50% of the wallpaper surface is white. Perhaps you are used to running predominately dark wallpapers? Another possibility is the tendency to stumble and turn slightly when staring at it. If you are standing directly between two towers at the time, the strain of bouncing from one to the other while you wobble will take a definite toll. Also reference the accelerometer issue a few posts up. In the future do some research before you post a complaint, and include a log. Can't fix an issue without a log dammit.
Also, no further complaints will be considered, unless you also blame Cyanogen regardless of whether or not you run his Rom.

[ThemeNews] Palm Pre Screen Like Theme NOT A RELEASE YET

I dont know if this thread is going to get ripped to shreds, or if anyone really cares. Also im sorry ive been delaying my "Sophie Theme" but to me this topic made the delay well worth it.
Now to the point, a while ago me and manup were trying to achieve making a theme with a palm pre like screen border. After two days of trying no avail. That was about two months ago. No i have been able to achieve this effect by editing the Titlebar shadow and the helix launcher dock. Im posting a screenshot but i will be posting a picture of the phone so you can actually see the real feel of this because the screenshot to me really isnt doing this effect any justice. So here is the screenshot.
With this thread id also like to know if this is something our theme users would like to see in furture themes.

This is a pic taken with a cliq xt i dont have a camera so i cant get a better picture of this effect.
And yes i know my screen is cracked it sucks, it works though. My deductible is 130 and cant afford atm.
Omg I didn't think it could be done! I completely understand why the screenshot doesn't do it justice, simply add a border in an image editing program and the effect will look more complete without having to be displayed on the device itself.
I recommend a thick border to about the width of the black whatever part of the screen around the Nexus. It will give people a general idea of the theme.
Edit: disregard this I guess?
Im so glad you understood that lol. The only issue is i can only achieve this effect with the helix launcher2 dock.bg and editing the titlebar shadow so the sides i cant do but really doesnt matter.

I wasn't referring to adding the border on the actual Nexus, just the screenshot you posted to demo the effect.
Ok my buddy just pointed out that this effect was achieved in the g1 theme called darkstar. lol here i was so excited.
Like the look of your stuff regardless. Will definitely give them a run as they get released on latest CM mods.
Nice to see some additional theme options coming.

Yea.. it was on that theme.. I remember having it and loving it on my G1.
The effect wasn't just on the launcher though, it was universal (all through out) most if not the entire theme. Regardless, you did a good job, it still looks nice.. don't know why no one is commenting.
This is kinda off topic but I was just curious. What app is that with the Golf flag on the green (second from the top). Thanks for the reply.
Not a fan of the battery but overall it looks great
nice! i would use/donate for this theme.
but please make a morph with blank battery so i can turn on percentage.
I like this theme, when can we test it??
looks really nice. i used to not like the icons but now they look cool. ill have to give this one a run. i was a big fan of the webOS theme for the G1 before palm said no more. i would like to see it come back to life without being shut down by palm...or ah HP.
I just hope the OP doesn't skip over my question on page one.

[Req] What allpaper is that?

Good afternoon,
I noticed there are alot of Wallpapers experts over here, so i can test my luck.
Surfing the net i came across this concept from Alexey Masalov and totally fell in love with this blue-ish/opaque wallpaper. Tried to search for it everywere, even tried to recreate it myself with very, VERY bad results (i'm no good with photoshop ha!). Everything i test comes out glare'ish instead of that really nice opaque color.
So i'll get to the point: is anyone able to find me a link or has the right color setup to recreate this wallpaper?

Maybe by trying different shades/tints of the hex color, i will try creating a few and test them on my n5.
I created 3 more wallpapers, hex #1c2630, #23303c and #2a3a49. All 3 are lighter shades of #151c24.

That's true, any dark monochrome wallpaper won't look very good on n5 screen due to light bleed, but #2a3a49 is not that bad imo.

[APP CONCEPTS] Quantum Paper (New upcoming UI) design app concepts (added Twitter)

Quantum Paper App Concepts
For those who don't know Quantum Paper is the rumoured new user interface which most likely will be seen in the upcoming version Android and on other platforms, for more information head over to Android Police. Additionally the newest leak of the Android 'L' release has shown that status bar will not have the gradient shade behind it, therefore all the concepts have been updated to match it.
Using the known information I decided to put together a few concepts for Apps based on the Quantum Paper design.

Thanks! Personally I'd love to see QuickPic with more colour, though there's an option to make it grey/white, the action bar is not very defined, I'd like to see some changes with the Quantum Paper.
PS. There's a chance there will be no shade-like-gradient behind the status bar looking at the newest leak.
Moved to post #2
Yeah I saw those images earlier.
Looking forward to the release. And as for QuickPic.
Perhaps I could do something about this plain UI.

In my opinion, that looks allot better.

I'd say it looks quite nice but the gradient had it's uses, there's a chance the icons will turn black if the background is light so they're visible, also probably the iOS fanboys will be going on about how it's copied it (if any of us cared).
True, but I bet Google will update their colour base. And it'll invert colours when the system thinks the background is too light?
Sounds like something we all have to wait and see.

Display size and font size Question

I can't seem to find a happy medium whereby I can see my icon labels correctly on my home screen.
Although the screen is 6.4" , my other device 6.47" seems to show all my icons and it's labels without the dot dot dot. Everything seems smaller on this display.

Hello, you checked already display size and font size within android display settings?
Also custom launchers have more possibilities to change icon arrangement, size or label size.
If you want to go further I can also recommend kustom KLWP :good:

I have explored all avenues I think third party launcher is the only option I have and also root. Everything looks smaller on this screen compared to the S10. The font size and screen size settings appear to do the same thing on the OP7. Even Tapatalk fonts look small. I thought having a flat screen would make the screen estate bigger, albeit not. The navigation bar is about 1inch and the status bar another 0.5" approx 1.5" smaller usable screen I guess.
I definitely need to look into the option that you suggested.
