The Pixel 4 and 4 XL have an option hidden away for "Styles", that allow you to pick from one of 4 fonts, one of 4 different icon and quick setting toggle shapes, as well as varying accent colors. With this, wouldn't a rootless substratum be possible considering it's basically a theme engine similar to the one baked into Android 8 allowing for Andromeda and Substratum to work?

It uses the same overlay service that Substratum does. Each font, color, and icon shape is an overlay.
No they blocked overlays other then theirs. Root only!

You can't simply "embed" a feature. In order to add that to your ROM, you would have to download the source for the particular ROM you want it added to, find the commit for the lock screen blur (I believe its somewhere on Paranoid Androids gerrit), then you'd cherry pick the changes and build the modified ROM.
Another option would be to use xposed along with a module such as Gravitybox which contains the lock screen blur feature.

I'm the developer of Pressability, a simple, grayscale icon pack for your home screen. I'm constantly updating it with new icons and am currently working on implementing fragments to improve the the app on tablets. I purposely left out the icon request feature as an incentive to download Pressable, the colored paid version. After 8.1 I notice my notification bar is mutli colored. Use any dark background to make the theme switch to dark. Itake a screenshot it's there. Does anyone have this going on for them? For some reason Tapatalk will not let me upload screenshots. Here's a photo of it.

It was multicolored too with 8.0. It is Pixel Launcher feature. Try to use Nova launcher and multicolor disappear

So on the quest to change my ZenUI which i thought to be impossible, i am a fan of dark themes. I have rooted my zc553kl, installed substratum and tried a few themes, but that hasnt changed my notification window, it remained white. And i stumbled across this app, called Power Shade. It doesn't require root, and allows you to change the colors of your notifications window to your liking. it works on the stock rom (7.1) and its awesome, heres some screenshots. i am posting this here cuz i didnt find the info anywhere

Hey, so I just got my galaxy and I'm trying to figure out how to show the real app icon on notifications instead of Samsung icons.
I've attached the photo, as you can see it shows same color icons for all notifications and I want to show the real app icon instead.
Searched everywhere can't find an answer, also I'm not using any theme.
