Did anyone order through Amazon Pre-order and receive their phones? - Google Pixel 4 XL Guides, News, & Discussion

So, mine is a sad Amazon experience. I ordered through Amazon Pre-order on the 15th for a delivery on the 23rd. White 128GB with 2 day shipping. As of this morning, still showing arrival by the 23rd at 8pm, so I called to find out why it has not shipped and they said there seemed to be something wrong with my payment but could not tell me what it was as I have literally used the same purchase process and payment method for 7 other transactions this week. THEN, while I am hold with them as they research, my shipping date changes to January 9th. No one can tell me what happened and even a supervisor could not get the situation corrected. They mentioned not having supply (meaning no one got this particular model), but i really think someone just screwed up on my order and changed something and could not change it back.
So, did anyone who pre-ordered from Amazon get a white 128GB Pixel 4 XL?

Sorry to hear that, bud. This is exactly why I ordered through google, directly. Having another middle man between me and my device isn't gonna happen anymore. Hope you get it sorted.

It will probably come a bit sooner. My initial date was the 31st / 1st, but it's due to be here on the 24th, now

I spoke to rep yesterday about my order too. She said it will definitely be arriving on the 23rd blah blah blah. Today at 1:11 pm my credit card was charged so I thought I would get an email stating it was shipped but nada
edit: Now delivery is Thursday. Shipped from Washington.

I got my XL from Google yesterday (22nd), was originally told it would be today (23rd) or tomorrow.

amazon order received on 22nd by noon

I pre-order 64 GB - Orange - XL. Was supposed to be delivered today. And its in same state as OP, still says coming today but is not even shipped. I am worried now. I am contacting amazon immediately.
Update : Same ****ty service ... they wont ship it, they said they will ship it when its in stock. Also, since they shipped the gift card with it, they charged me $100 bucks for it and I cant return that .... I am never going to order from amazon again.
Update 2 : Found the white -64gb XL on best buy for pickup tomorrow. Hopefully would get it tomorrow.

So has anyone received a white 128 GB from Amazon?
It looks like they have stopped selling the Pixel 4 / XL now, and no longer have any Amazon buying options. I would say someone screwed up somewhere...

amazon screwed me over also.I called twice to make sure order was on time, ordered on the 16th, was assured it would be on time.today when i got a revised date of nov 16 i called finally got to a supervisor he gave me a $50 credit ,reimbursed me for the gift card and the $7.99 case I bought.still really pissed!

mine is even worse, there now telling me I cannot cancel the order because I received the gift certificate. I notice now Amazon has actually stopped selling this phone so someone must have really screwed up... This is an Amazon nightmare

Im curious, why are people buying it from 3rd party distributor's? I don't want to rub in what I have already stated, but this wouldn't have happened had you gone straight to Google. If you have the money, I don't understand the issue. All that extra risk to possibly save a day or two or shipping doesn't seem worthwhile to me. Sorry for those that have learned this lesson the hard way.

I think it was because they were offering a $100 gift card without an expiration possibly. Google was offering $100 for the Google Store with a January expiration date.

My original order was with Google but the more I thought about it, I didn't want $100 gift card to Google store cause I don't want anything from there. Rather have $100 gift card at Amazon.

According to the information on this screenshot and word of mouth from Best Buy employees, the Thunderbolt will be released on the 21st. From what I understand, if a product doesn't have a street date (see street date on pic), the product can be sold as soons as it arrives at the store.

I work for Best Buy Mobile and as I have said, in stock date means nothing when it comes to when a product is being launched/sold.

Was in Best Buy yesterday and spoke to the guy who got the incredible release date spot on before it's official announcement and we were going over the differences. When I spoke to him he pulled some paperwork that stated the 24th is the official street date. The computer system just states when they are going to arrive in store, not really a release date.
THe guy in that forum has also posted the ad from next week that goes out monday morning on the 21st. The thunderbolt is on there, so dont be surprised if BB is selling it on the 21st, no where it says the availability so it looks like it will sell on the 21st. otherwise it would have said the available date on the ad. If they dont do sell the phone, it will sure piss people off who go to the store after seeing the ad.
They can easily print up an ad-correction stating when it will arrive in store. I have a feeling this ad is just reflecting the original 14th date and is just saying "oh don't forget we have the new Thunderbolt"

I work retail, and no ads are not printed monts in advance. Our ads go out a week in advance, and I work at frys. Yes ads are made atleast 2, 3 weeks in advance. They dont print until a week in advance. we dont throw anything on ad that we are not sure about and that will not be available, unless ofcourse they one store is out of stock for some reason. Unless ofcourse we put an availability date on the paper that says the item is available on such date.
If best buy puts it on ad going out on the 20th and doesn't say that the item will be available on the 24th then they will probably piss off a lot of customers, even if it being released on the 24th, you gotta put that on ad.
Ads for best buy are actually made typically two~three weeks in advance, and get to the store a week before it comes out approximately
I know this just adds to all the heresay on here but this is what i was told by BB today. First the normal (non-mobile) store said they had no idea when they would get it, and it showed up in the system as "disco" so that meant it got delayed again.
Then i went to the BB Mobile store and they said it would be available on the 24th, and they wil reserve one for 50 bucks. Then the guy proceeded to tell me how stupid i would be if i got it with the Bionic being announced and then pulled out a DX to tell me how awesome it was being rooted. I asked what all he could do with root and he said it is overclocked and has a custom start page. I said oh yeah, my Incredible has Gingerbread, ill stick with HTC for the dev support/non locked bootloader.
The rumor mill has been awfully quiet today...

You work for Best Buy and you don't know the difference between in-stock date and street date?
Do you see to the left where it says "Street Date" and it's blank? That's where Best Buy documents the release date for a product. In-stock date just means when it's supposed to come into inventory.
Stores receive shipments on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays typically. I didn't even work in inventory to know that.
Anyway the confirmed release date is the 24th and the "delayed again" rumors are false. HTC CEO already stated he shipped out the phones. The only people crying "delay" are saying it because they might not get their shipments in time to launch on the 24th with the rest of the carriers.
I'm just saying what Bestbuy rep told me. He stated he's been calling people all morning. I don't know whether to believe him as there were only three other people on the waiting list when I signed up for preorder on Feb 14th. I've seen all the rumors on the web, I'm as excited as you are to get this phone, but Bestbuy really let my hopes down some... I hope It's out on 24th...

Guys this is a great phone but im just wondering.....if you take the 4g away from this phone its still a basic 2.2 Froyo Android phone.
There are no apps in the market that are special for this hone that another android phone can play.
What are you expecting from this phone besides looks and 4g? Or is the 4g enough?
Oh and the guy that leaked the inventory screen shot also leak the new sells paper for next week and it's in there as a "new" item with a price.

it's out of stock everywhere and the only option now is second hand, should i go for it? my other option would to buy a ipad 2 16gb but i feel that won't be enough data for me and i am so used to android, anyone give me advice?

i can't wait till they get stock, it could be up till a month before they come back (can you go a whole month without a tablet?) and the price would increase and i would miss out on the £50 cashback, i can't even buy second hand from cex they are all gone, its all because of christmas, bah humbug i say!
i will try the stores on the high street today but i've checked all their stock online, they are all gone, i think i will have no choice but to buy a ipad 2, its either that or go without a tablet for a whole month, i can't use a samsung galaxy S2 to browse the web e.t.c LOL screen is tiny and impossible to type with (using it now to type this post)
I would go without a tablet for a month. You want warranty for something like this. I had the opportunity to get a used but unopened note off craigslist for $75 less but I decided against it.

Picked one up at tescos(York) yesterday for £318 and to quote the samsung guy 'there's load in stock'.... sure you tried everywhere?!
And for those that dont know you have to purchase up to and including the 31st December to be entitled to the £50 cashback.
EDIT: By the way, something else I also found out yesterday which could be relevant to you, is that Tescos website on purpose prevents you from checking stock of these items.

yeah i saw tesco direct website had the tablet for £318 but i heard such bad stories about their delivery i decided to pass on that and that is strange, why would they not let you check stock on online :S
i am going to claim my £50 cashback tomorrow, gotta setup the tablet tonight so tired too.
Oh sorry didn't see you managed to grab one! Annoyingly you cant start cashback claim process until 15 days after you buy it...probs to prevent you buying one claiming cash back and taking it back. But at the same time it has to be claimed before 60 days......probably in the hope you forget to claim!

This is how they make money by boosting the shipping cost. I live in China I know how much they pay the phone and I know how much it cost to ship a phone. I shipped a guitar for 40$ in Montreal from Shanghai so 99$ for a phone makes no sense.
They are local to me. I wonder how much if i picked it up and pay cash.

I was tempted to order one myself but wanted confirmation that it was the I9500 and not the Snapdragon 600 I9505. So I sent him a message early this morning. As yet - no reply !!!
This doesn't inspire confidence in buying from him even though he has a very good seller rating. Also, as you say I can only see 1 positive feedback from someone who has purchased an S4 - yet he has sold over 1000.
I was prepared to order this morning but not now. Especially after reading your message and not getting a reply to my earlier question, I'm not sure what to do.
I hope you get yours and at least you're covered by eBays Buyer Protection should anything go wrong !!! Keep us posted.

Thanks for the update.
I contacted someone who had left positive feedback for purchasing an S4. I asked whether it was a genuine Octa I9500, you never know with alot of online retailers simply copy/pasting specs, and he confirmed that it was.
He also mentioned that the packaging was in spanish/portugese or something so looks like these might have been destined for South America maybe.

Well, that sucks because you are paying $99 shipping for FedEx International Priority so even if they are really busy - they owe it to you to ship your order out in a timely fashion.
I have just placed my order - it's working out about the same as buying the Snapdragon 600 version here in the UK, as long you don't get it hit by Customs that is !!! Hopefully, I get by the weekend at the latest otherwise I won't be a happy bunny

For what it matters, I did in the end buy from this guy. It arrived today. It's a latin america destined 9500 with the Octa as advertised. The thing left the manufacturing line only about a week ago. No problems in terms of tracking or shipping (Intl is FedEx, inside of the FedEx box it was wrapped in a UPS wrapper). Btw: European users: it comes with a US-power adapter, so probably you should order a Note 2 charger to go with it (works flawlessly).

I ordered it Friday and it arrived yesterday (from across the globe!) but it missed the daily courier truck so I got it only today.
In the end it was worth it because my country apparently doesn't give a crap about adding VAT to inbound packets and didn't ask me to pay nothing in addition, so I actually paid no taxes at all on it, i.e. 537€. (Plus shipping)

Shield Recall: Wait time to receive tablet?

Hello! I've done some looking around on the forums before making this, but I might have missed it since I'm looking rather specifically. I'm wondering what peoples wait times are to receive their replacement tablets? I submitted my info for the recall on August 7th, and received the confirmation, but here it is 4 weeks later and I have yet to receive any further information or my replacement tablet. I'm wondering if I should keep waiting, or if there's something I should do? I tried contacting the recall hot-line, but every time I do, they seem to be closed.
They said 2-4 weeks so you have some wait time still. I'm in the same boat. Filled out form late in day on Aug 3. No notice yet except the initial confirmation. I'm in the US by the way. No worries. Will get here eventually

Thanks for the input, that calms my worries a lot! I already disposed of the old one, I'd hate to not receive it. Haha.
Took approx 4 weeks for mine to arrive in the UK.
I havent heard/got anything yet since putting in the request on 31st July, Im in Oxford/Leamington
Got this email today (UK)

We are fulfilling claims as quickly as we can, in the order in which they were received. In some cases, we are running behind our target delivery of 2-4 weeks. We’re doing everything we can to accelerate the schedule.

Got the delay email yesterday, got an email today saying it's shipped and being delivered today. Checked the tracking number and it says delivered. New tablet was sitting on my front porch. I got the box to ship back the old one and everything.

Got the same thing.
I received mine this week and it was a time of 1-2 weeks until it arrived (germany).
Thanks for the responses everyone! It'd be nice if I got one of those emails soon, haha. I'm likely just being overly paranoid, but the lack of info is bothering me since I already disposed of mine.

i got that email as well for UPS.
But i live in the UK and the tracking number has been coming uo as invalid for the past few days =/
I'm just off the phone with them. I registered mine on July 31st and still no sign of anything.
They had no detail to give me other than there was a delay in sending out non-US tablets. Are the people in the UK / Europe that have got theirs WiFi only or LTE? I've seen a lot of Europeans saying they registered in August and have received theirs, seems odd that they wouldn't send them out in the order RMAs were received.
I just got an email from UPS My Choice, no official email yet, but I've got a package coming from Stericycle-ES! I registered for the recall on Aug 8th, so this turnout doesn't seem too bad.
Usually you get the UPS Mychoice (presuming you've signed up) email the business day before delivery, and then an email from Stericycle/Nvidia the next day, from most reports, on the day it gets delivered.

Yup! Got the official email about a hour after it arrived by UPS!
Still haven't received my replacement nor have I heard anything from nvidia since the email informing me it was going to take longer than the original 2-4 weeks. I'm in Texas awaiting the LTE version. I submitted my RMA 8/1
I submitted my RMA on August 3 and received the replacement on September 8. This was for the LTE tablet,and I live in the Indianapolis area. I got notice from ups my choice the day before delivery (I'm a my choice member). Day of delivery, got the email from nvidia that the tablet was on the way

well its 2 weeks into their second email for me, reg 31st July! So two more weeks will see if anything arrives.

Question Samsung Care+ Free Year

I see in the members app where you can get care+ for a year if you pre ordered but when I tap the button nothing happens. Anyone know how to get the free year?

That gives me a "you are no longer eligible to enroll in Samsung care+" message. You think they are making us wait until the actual release date of the 27th before it goes live?
Edit: Samsung said it will go live on the official launch the 27th.
It's the same offer in my country, but it says "Samsung care+ not available in your country".

Did you order directly from Samsung? If so, you had to add it to the order.
Unfortunately, I played this game with the Note 20 Ultra. Not adding it to the order claimed I could go into the Members app and add it for up to 30 days. After some extensive research, I found out that it could ONLY be added to the order or it "expired" and not even support could get it added.
It also wasn't actually available until after the release and then there was a slight delay (48 hours or so), much like it was a game release. I never did get it added, but that was the initial excuse support gave for not being able to add it.

I didn't add it when I ordered. But the app says you have 30 days to redeem it. There is a button specific for pre order customers

Hopefully it works out this time or they fixed the terms because last year, they were making the same claim and it ended up only being available if you purchased them together.

I wasn't questioning whether or not they made the claim. I had the same thing through the 10 different support conversations. I hope they do things differently this time, but I have no doubt you will invest the same amount of time I did.

Says on the app it's during order only. I asked they won't honor it. But whatever I was paying on it for my S21 Ultra so I canceled that since I sold it and will pay for it for the Z Flip so not like I'm really out any extra
Did it work for you? I've registered mine on 25th Aug. without problems (germany), purchased directly at samsung

If it didn't arrive yet, you could try contacting support and telling them you thought you clicked the button to add it. They may still be able to edit the order. The mistake I made was waiting until it arrived to decide I should add it. By then, the order was already complete.

They wouldn't.
I have the same problem, I had to add it on my cart and check out which I didn't... but the rep was kind enough to send me a $60 credit to use on samsung.com.. I ended up using it towards a watch watch 4.. Samsung care is pretty lame anyway the deductibles are way too high for screen replacement. I'll take my chances with the one year manufacturer's warranty.
Let's hope the hinge is made to be durable. The repair shops are trained to find a reason to call it accidental damage.

However, there's a price to pay for Care+ at least for first 2 weeks (to make sure preorder people feel privileged). The old Z models still receive free Care+ until today. I expect the same conditions to reapply for ZFlip3/ZFold3 soon. The display repair price is up to 1000$ so the manufacturer should still provide extra backing.
