I recently installed android 10 but there is a really annoying bug that moved the whole keyboard up so I would like to roll back to 9. Can someone please explain how to do that? Is is possible with oxygen updater (download android 9 rom and install it on top of android 10)?

Hi! Keyboard is moved up only if you've chosen the standard android gestures; choose the oneplus ones instead

Oneplus let the user choose between 3 types of navigations:
- buttons
- gesture (left and right) (this one is newly added with android 10)
- gesture (bottom)
Both gesture types contains the bug. The only way to have the keyboard at the correct location is disable gesture (which is not what I want).
So it's clearly a bug that can not be solve in the current rom (10.0.1).
I don't want to choose between the navigation gesture and right keyboard location (as both were working on android 9).
I updated to android 10 to get android 10 gesture improvements but the only thing I got is a regression.
For those who are interested to get more informations about this bug, there are a lot a topic in the feedback section of the oneplus forum (lots of people are waiting for this fix).
Now that the situation is clear, can someone help me to roll back to android 9 please ?

Hi,

Thanks.

This gap is intentional, iPhone from where these gestures are copied have doubled the gap, because its not easy to type so far down the bottom on a long phone, to keep the keyboard at more usable position they have raise keyboard little bit, iPhone has raised it even more. Take it as a feature. Else free to downgrade. If you wanna lose dark mode.
Nobody has yet to share how to downgrade from 10 to 9.............
You need downgrade package like one plus 7 pro

If you read says :
Disclaimer: Please read the steps and requirements carefully and take a Complete Backup of your device Internal Data before flashing..
The phone will boot into recovery mode and will erase the user data completely..
File type: " fulldowngrade_wipe_MSM_18857_190505_1527_user.zip"
_we can get back on previous version and with msm tool also :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7/how-to/op7-unbrick-tool-to-restore-device-to-t3954325
(Read in OP: "They can also be used to rollback your phone to a previous release of OOS")
If you haven't downgraded yet, you can use a command in terminal if you're rooted. Type wm overscan 0,0,0,-75. There's a link in xda which provides adb commands also. Search in google and you'll find it.
Would restoring a TWRP backup of the OP7 with Pie work?
Also thinking of rolling back, don't want to lose everything.

It seems current stable rom has some bugs in vendor or firmware (e.g. Google Camera is laggy).

hey AndroPlus,

I am wondering if this has any built-in guesture navigation like MIUI's ? I do prefer vanila android over miui in general but the gesture navigation is pretty nice to have.

Please DO NOT use Xiaomi.eu rom as the base rom as it has fingerprint prop for MIX 2S!
All GSI rom uses fingerprint prop to detect device, so it breaks device detection
Only official rom is supported.
For the message in 4G, my carrier can receive message on 4G, so maybe it's APN problem or something.

I tried both official Chinese and global ROMs as a base but it kept boot looping and wouldn't go to the splash screen. What base version do you recommend?
Only Xiaomi EU allows the ROM to boot for me however there doesn't seem to be any issues. ROM runs well.

Hmm, I've installed the original PE ROM coming from a weekly EU build but it didn't seem to affect anything for me. My install process was China Dev > EU Stable > EU Weekly > GSI. What side effects were expected if coming from an EU build?
Also yeah, it seems that the latest commits for GSI ROMs did something at least to the Mix 3's APN settings. During previous builds I couldn't get SMS/MMS if 4G LTE is enabled, but now I'm having no issues whatsoever.
Finally, I've been testing Google Pay in more locations... it seems that some terminals do activate properly and I was able to perform transactions, but in others they either don't pick anything up or will result in a 'Please Present One Card Only' error. The last bit is interesting since this has been an issue during the early days of NFC wallet payment, and curious that it happens here. Might be some build.prop setting that we can exploit?

I see, now I know why the brightness settings are a bit off even with your Magisk module installed. Ambient Display works for notifications at least, which is what I prefer over AOD. Right now I have no urgency to change, but good to know the differences.
So to get those configs right, I would have to flash a China ROM image, then flash GSI into system. Is that correct?

Flashing China Dev via TWRP as system image should be enough right? I wouldn't want to use MiFlash to do so because I'd like to preserve my TWRP and its backups. Would be way easier to TWRP backup > flash China ROM > boot > flash GSI ROM > TWRP restore > boot to save time.

Flashing vendor image should be enough if xiaomi.eu doesn't change other partitions.
System image is not related as GSI image overwrite the system image.

What happens when you try *#*#4636#*#* code ? Can You move the switches ?
Since Android 10 have the new "Scoped Storage" Feature, I wanted to know if File Explorers and SD-Cards still works like in previous Android versions? Since that is important for me, cause I need access to my own phone storage like always.
Waiting for stable version
I'm looking forward to try the Rom, that's the first thing I do when I'm able to unlock my Bootloader in 3 days exactly. Just can someone write a short review if the Rom is Stable enough except the few minor issues mentioned in the first post? And is Magisk 19.3 working in this Rom? And which recovery is recommended, Orangefox or Offical TWRP?
Have battery drain issue?
Smooth or butter?
So a short review of me after using the Rom a few days: I'm very impressed how well it works on our Redmi Note 5, I use the 4/64GB Global version, and I faced 2 bugs that wasn't mentioned here, first often when I lock the phone and wanna unlock it again, it just freezes and become unresponsive so I was forced to do a force reboot and Whatsapp voice messages doesn't work. But luckily, I honestly don't know why, both problems got fixed with installing the latest Updated PureCAF Kernel x6, overall Android 10 performance is very good and now it's stable too.
Why is this thread so quite?

updating to pie its not working by sideloading you need to save the pie file to your storage and if you cant access your phone you can try flash the latest RAW File just find in other forums.
Well, after trying the RAW file a second time, it is now working. No clue what the deal was before. It shouldn't have even had Magisk installed still after flashing that RAW file, but it did, and was causing the problems.
Second flash actually reset everything. Can't delete this post though.

How to install MIUI 12 onto Xiaomi devices?
Download the MIUI 12 OTA update or Recovery zip file from above.
Transfer the update zip to phone storage in the root directory. Meaning, outside every folder. If that doesn’t work, place the file in the folder ‘download_rom’.
Launch the updater app on your Xioami phone. Or go to settings > about phone > system updates.
Click on three dots on the top right corner and choose “Choose Update package”
If “Choose Update package” option desn’t show up, tap on the MIUI icon several times and check again.
Select the MIUI 12 ROM package from phone storage.
Your phone should reboot and update process will begin.
Once done, reboot to system.
Note: Don’t stop the update once started. If stopped, you will need to do the operation again right from downloading the firmware file again. This will not erase any data in your phone.

Thanks for posting.
I returned my phone to stock by flashing the latest global fastboot image in MiFlash. My bootloader is still unlocked.
When I try, it says "Can't verify update. You're allow to flash the newest develop version published by MIUI forum from stable version only". (spelling mistake theirs).
Would I do better flashing TWRP and flashing it from there?

i think in 29 April eu version is coming ?

I flashed it via TWRP and it worked fine. Visually, it looks the same as v11 to me.
I wonder how stable the v12 .eu betas will be. I only just got my device, so I've been flashing AOSP ROMs. I was going to go with the latest .eu, but I might wait until the first v12 beta .eu is released before I set it up.
I posted a mini review of MIUI 12 on the Whirlpool forums, so I decided to post it here, too. In a nutshell, I'm not a fan of the direction Xiaomi is taking with MIUI.

I flashed the MIUI 12 beta build from yesterday on my Mi9 Lite. While Realme made RealmeUI more stock-like than ColorOS 6 was, Xiaomi appears to be moving MIUI in the opposite direction. I didn't mind MIUI 10, but I didn't like MIUI 11 so much. MIUI 12 is worse than ColorOS 6.
These screenshots are with the display size changed from the default of 392 to 411 to make things smaller, but you'll notice that the text is still large, and very bold. If I reduce the font thickness, it reduces the overly thick headings in the various menus, but the smaller text becomes too thin.
You'll notice the quick settings have been replaced by a near full-screen control centre, which, in my opinion, is worse than any other UI available. Luckily, there's an option to disable the control centre. I've included a screenshot of this toggle.

MUI 12 Beta all Devices
Hi guys,:good:
MIUI 12 Beta for all devices in MIUI.eu posted today :fingers-crossed::laugh:
Downloading right now (globe rom version).
Anyone tried yet?
edit:
Okay, installation is done. Here are some first impressions:
- First boot took quite long, almost thought I had a bootloop.
- I needed a second reboot, as the new gestures weren't working right after reboot
- Some animations (especially sending app to background by swiping up = hombebutton) dont feel as smooth as in MIUI 11
- Instantly disabled the new control center. Honestly looks like a cheap iOS rip-off
- I couldn't find those new "planetary wallpapers" with the zoom in effect that were mentioned in some news about MIUI 12. May be that's because it's xiaomi.eu rom
- New camera UI looks quite nice
That's it for now. Will update if I find any problem etc.

I was about to flash Arrow in my device, what are the main differences with this?
You will get a lot more native Android and Pixel Features such as Pixel Setup Wizard, Pixel Feature Drop Functions, Extreme Battery Mode, better overall Quality for Media Consumption and Recording of it. It also removes ARROW OS Apps for Pixel Apps and the Installer does also Trim Your Storage if You follow My Instructions. Your Device will perform a lot better and the battery usage should be also optimized. I have a long History with Qualcomm Devices and know My Stuff. There will come a lot more next and i really love to keep everything clean like ARROW OS does...
Hope You will like it! Just keep in Mind it is a BETA Actually. Means Pixel Launcher isn't working right Yet, and not everything is present Yet. My biggest Problem is the Prop Patching which i haven't used in Years. That causes a lack of My Prop Configs :/ The actual Version includes a slightly patched Vendor build.prop but that will cause trouble with ARROW OS Updates...
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Miustone/MARS_SOM/master/MARS_SOM/system.prop
Hope i can get it to work next.

That's caused by the Ported Pixel UI. The Status Bar is bigger on the Pixel 5 based on the Camera. The Dot is a Side Effect that will be fixed soon.
Need simple way to install this patch i dont understand

What isn't easy? You just need to read... Download the Zip from My Homepage, place it on Your Phone and flash it with Your Recovery. Handle it like a new ROM and done (Do a Full Wipe followed by a ROM flash before flashing MARS).
