Lenovo Vibe X3 X3a40 : higher ping when held in hand! - Lenovo Vibe X3 Questions & Answers

Hey! I have noticed that the phone receives higher ping when the hands are behind the phone while playing PUBG. While holding the phone in hand it registers 900+ ms ping but when left on the table unattended it registers only 20 - 100 ms. Is their any way to fix this?

No, actually all Lenovo devices are the same, all perform poor in RAM optimization and have huge Network issues

Z5 Dual Laggy/Overheats too much

Hello two week ago I bought brand new Xperia Z5 E6633 Dual Sim
The problem is:
- Phone overheats too much it goes 60-65c while playing any game.
- CarX Drift Racing <- This game starts lagging in 5-10 mins of gameplay, FPS drops to 20-25, then it responds again, in few seconds FPS drops again..
- Battery drain.. It lasts few hours on Games/Camera
Firmware details:
7.1.1 Stock (Reflashed)
OS is optimized, every useless app is disabled, Background apps limit are set to: No background apps
BN: 32.4.A.1.54 [Reg: CE]
I went to local service and they just flashed Lollipop, told me that problem was fixed also they compared to other same device.
But when I got it in my hands OS was laggy when scrooling, Apps took 10 secs to open so I reflashed Stock 7.1.1 with Flashtool
I Did cleanflash.
I know what could be the problem.
(SRY for BAD ENGLISH)
I know that Snapdragon 810 usually overheats but after watching few Gaming Performance videos about Z5
All the games they tested were running smoothly on 60 fps
After 5 game test the phone was 40-45c overheated
I dont have problem about 45-50c but 60-65 is too much even for 810 and you know it.
Are you sure that it's good to set "No background apps"? I think it might have some bad side effects. Have a look at the first reply here: https://android.stackexchange.com/q...des-or-risks-to-limiting-background-processes

P20/Pro to OP6?

Considering getting the OP6
currently i have the p20 pro came from a 5T, i feel like the ui was a step backwards, the kirin 970 feels sluggish (or emui), my 5T was snappy and quick
the p20 has an amazing camera setup noticably better than my 5T.
however huawei isnt without its issues, google app has stopped working for almost all huawei devices, the UI is noticably slower than my previous 5T, bad ram management, old SOC, certain old school linux tweaks break the phone.
other than the camera and VOLTE the p20 pro has little going for it, my question is, is it worth upgrading to the op6?
mainly use the camera for point and shoot, if the op6 can hold its own against the p20p that would be a major deciding factor, also if VOLTE works in Australia (as it does on my p20 pro)
*i rarely purchase phones, the 5T and p20 were given to test and if i decide to keep i just have to pay the amount, most of the time i just sawp them out for a new phone a month later, deciding if i should use a op6 or p20p as a daily driver.
I come from OP5, i spent 1 month choosing between p20 pro (just because it's camera) and OP6..
I finally choose the OP6; main raisons :
- finally the camera is way better than my 'oil effect' OP5 camera
- impossible to live with emui
- 'root/mods' community
- spending $250 more for an old SOC is not an option
- front design : the large area with FG scanner on the front is so ugly with a notch and does't make any sense...

A comparison between the P20 PRO (about 1 month of use) and the subjective Oneplus 6 (15 days):
*
- equivalent screens. Nickel, 1080p is enough for those who do not use VR.
No adjustment needed.
Ex aequo.
*
- HP. No call, the single microphone OP6 is not terrible (although the last update was given more punch) and do not just compete with the 2 stereo microphones Huawei. The most difficult is in landscape mode, the fingers tend to clog the only grid. For the jack output (with adapter on the P20 PRO), no noticeable difference, but I'm not a music lover.
The earphones of Oneplus are much more comfortable to wear.
*
- design.
The quality of manufacture is identical. The fingerprint sensor on the front of Huawei is convenient for viewing messages in the office. The use of this one for navigation is nice, but I prefer the gestures of Oneplus. To return to the impression sensor, the rear placement makes it less accurate than the P20 PRO. This is not a blocking problem, it is me that night or while waking when the facial unlocking trouble with my floured mouth: Heink:
The OP6 heats up while I have not felt anything on the P20PRO.
On the P20PRO the top microphone is very small. No problem sound restitution issue of the call, but sometimes the sound was muffled. By moving the phone a few millimeters, no more worry. I guess the narrowness of the microphone is that in some positions the lobe of my ear blocked this one. No worries about other phones.
*
-drums.
My typical use: VLC 2.5h, 2h bluetooth podcast listening, 2h surf, 4G 11h, 8h in airplane mode and the rest in WiFi.
I was expecting a regression seeing the test on Gsmarena and the difference in capacity of both batteries.
P20 PRO or OP6, I find myself with the same SOT: 5h30 to 7h. Between 2 refills I am at 40h.
Fast charging is equivalent.
*
Photo Cards.
Huawei did very hard. If they manage to solve the AI that abuses the color saturation, the photo part will be close to perfection.
Mention A ++ for the black and white sensor which gives an impressive result. : Love:
Photos in very low light are abused, the camera can see things that the human eye does not arrive.
The OP6 does not demerit. Compared to my old S7, the photos are better in outdoor and basic brightness, the OP6 is slightly less responsive on the focus.
In summary: S7 + - = OP6 << P20PRO
Regarding the photo application, I found the ergonomics of OP6 more fun than that of P20PRO
*
-Software
Let's start with Huawei. Unlike a lot of criticism, I have not suffered lags and RealRacing no significant loss of SPF. The settings are a bit messy, but you do not spend your life there. I liked the ability to block apps on startup and in the background.
But we get to the main reason for my change: Notification management is flawed. Regularly I lost calendar notifications, Keep, mail etc ...: cry:
I tried to disengage all the necessary parameters or to change by equivalent applications. Factory reset. Nothing to do. The process that hibernates applications seems to be extremely brutal (even in previous versions of EMUI). I have never been able to successfully run next apps because of this aggressive management: Lightflow (or Lightmanager) and Notification Reminder.
Regarding OxygenOS, being a former user of a Nexus 4, I'm thrilled. From the Android close to the stock with until it is necessary in setting. Everything is fluid, stable and visually clean. :ground:
The community seems to be active on ROM / kernel despite the youth of the phone. I just wait for the others to wipe the plasters, not urgent on this side, the basic soft is amply enough.
*
-Network.
the 2 are very good compared to my previous phones (S7 and Z3 compact).
In my basement, the S7 was struggling to make calls. The P20PRO was bagging between H + and 4G. The OP6 is still in 4G.
In outdoor use, the 2 are equal.
*
To summarize :
The 2 phones are excellent
- the P20PRO is a range above question photos but the application management is really too aggressive screen off
- the OP6 OS isirreproachable OS. But on the other points no notable differences compared to its competitor.

I'm waiting for my OP6 to arrive (I live in Brazil)
But that's quite what I expected, the OP6 is more than just fast, it's an incredible software experience, without crashes / bugs, and out of the ordinary performance.
Obviously the P20 camera is on another level, but I think the OP6 camera does a great job

Are current phones "lag free"?

Hi all,
i'm currently using a Galaxy S3 (I9300 int) with LineageOs 14.1 (Android 7.1.2).
Ok, this phone is a few years old, and originally shipped with Android 4, so i'm quite happy that it still runs relatively well with a newer android version.
However, it is rather unresponsive in certain situations and i am wondering how more recent phones (with stock roms and with lineageos) would perform in these cases, given that the raw Mhz didn't increase that drastically.
-When receiving a call and ringing, the phone often needs like 5 seconds before the screen lights up and i can accept the call
-Switching on the screen via the power button usally takes a fraction of a second, but in some cases only the buttons light up instantly but the screen takes up to 5 seconds. Sometimes the screen goes back to sleep before it even activated.
-the unlock pattern often is too unresponsive to swipe the correct pattern, unless given a few seconds to stabilize
-Enabling the camera via double pressing the power button, sliding from the lock screen, or the launcher, often takes 10 seconds (or crashes)
-while downloading app updates on WLAN, opening any other app often takes 2-3 seconds
Will these things be "instant" on a current 200-400$ phone like a P20, OnePlus 6, Galaxy S8? Both on Stock and with LineageOs (and GApps)?

Do you use social media apps? If so, that/those social media apps and Google Play Services are the biggest causes of your lag.
Also, yes, over the years, the GHz of mobile processors haven't changed that much relatively, but that doesn't mean that the newer processors are not faster than the older ones, as CPU generations evolve, so do their architectures, this is where the biggest increase in speed comes from compared to the older architectures, the number of cores is also a slight factor, it is not the GHz "per se" that is increasing the speed compared to older processors.
For example, a 1.2GHz CPU from 2018 with a newer architecture is much faster than a 1.2GHz CPU from 2012 with an older architecture.
Amount of RAM, RAM type and RAM speeds are also a factor, RAM in older devices does not perform as well as RAM in newer devices.

Depending on the usage every phone lags.
I have bought Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and it is absolutely lag free because of the new One UI seems.
I have finally got the smooth IPhone experience.
It is so fast and lag free that I asked myself why should I root it at all (I did by the way!).
The phones are getting faster and faster and that is for sure.
I had similar experience with Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus running Samsung Experience.

HELP needed with Note 10. GPS accuracy issue, overheating whilst using Android Auto.

Hi
I've tried to find relevant info here but have failed...
Right were do I start?
I use Samsung Note 10 heavily for:
Android Auto
-Navigation (Google and Waze)
-Spotify
-Youtube Downloader (to play sound in the back ground)
-phone calls
GPS status app installed with A-GPS data updated.
Phone screen is always on with Courier Exchange app that uses GPS location etc
1. Main issue I get is GPS location accuracy whilst in big cities with Google maps (Waze is similar) , during navigation my position is shown with a delay and very often drive past the street I suppose to turn in or my position jumps to a street next to. After a stop for lets say 5-10 min if I start to drive again it takes about 60 sec until it picks up my location correctly again. Navigation works fine on motorways and in small towns.
I do use magnetic phone holder (the one that goes into a vent and with metal plate sicked onto a back of the phone) - could this be the issue? (never had that problem on Sony Xperia One) . Compass is calibrated and seems to be working correctly.
Phone additional Google accuracy settings (WiFi) needs to be on as this is requirement of CourierExchange app.
2. Second issue I get is phone overheating and slowing down dramatically.
As I've mentioned before I use Android Auto all the time ( for about 8-10hrs a day) , phone is charging constantly (fast charge off) and I do use Spotify / Youtube Mate to listen to music in the background. Had to switch off screen animation to speed the phone up.
I do have "Power mode" switched off for maximum performance. Phone gets very hot from time to time and tend to slow down, google maps scrolling on the vans unit slows down. Sometimes phone doesn't react on touch too.
Am I lacking the RAM here? Is the constant charging an issue (phone needs to be connected via USBcable to use Android Auto). My vent where the phone is located is closed so no hot air blows on the phone directly.
Is the phone simply too slow what I do or there's an Issue whit the phone? Phone is 3 weeks old and don't have many apps installed on it..
I did use Sony Xperia One (with magnetic phone holder in exactly same spot) before and due to its size and lack of dual sim option have decided to go for Note 10 (not 10+ which is too big). Sony worked so much faster and absolutely no issue with GPS between high buildings. Also I'm a little worried about lack of battery care by Samsung (or am I wrong?) as I constantly charge phone, Sony here was learning my habits and after some time didn't allow the phone to be fully charged whilst using Android Auto - had Xperia XZ1 Compact before and this one was also faster then Note 10 and after 2 years of heavy use battery is like new....
Can anyone help me resolve above issues? I still have the Sony One and thinking of getting rid of Samsung if the issues continue - this is costing me money.
For any help and advise what to do I will be very grateful.
I also experience the GPS issues you explain. Sitting still at a stop light and suddenly it's recalculating because I'm suddenly on a side street 500' away. I've never noticed any heat issue while using AA. I do not use any kind of mount. Also, my wifi calling often fails due to location unavailable error.

Small swipes below 0.5cm are not getting detected in Realme 5s RMX1925

Your browser is not able to display this video.
Does any Realme 5s user notice this ? Swipe just a little bit repeatedly (either up-down or left-right), after two or three swipes, the touch is just getting registered in the middle, something like average between the farthest points, this is only happening, when the swipes are very small. This is annoying particularly in Pubg Mobile .
Change battery saving settings and performance mode does not have any effect.
Does anyone have solution for this ? or is it even happening in other Realme 5s phones ? (This bug is not on Realme 3) (sorry for any mistakes, this is my first time posting here)
