odin 13.1
12.5 patched
actually all versions.
I have a G950U from sprint that I bought off of ebay for my daughter. I have US cellular. The phone FRP tripped when I tried to flash it or maybe was on b4 I bought it idk. I am looking to remove the damn frp and than carrier unlock it to USC. This is to replace her currently defective S5 so hoping it works.
My only issue and IDKY but when I go to flash AP it is always getting stuck on connection setup in every Odin version. I have tried different cables and ROMs
Win 10 x64 on a USB 2.0 header
If someone can help me I'd greatly appreciate it or I am going to have google dispute the purchase if this cannot be done.

Hi All,
I have a moderate experience in flashing firmwares and modding my samsung devices over the years.
I have recently purchased an S7 which is unfortunately a SM-G930V model, i thought it would have been the SM0G930F which would have made life much easier.
I want to know if it is possible to get the original Australian firmware or even generic stock firmware on this device?
My issue is with the network settings where i have manually put in APN settings my match my carrier and 4G coverage in australia.
If not am i able to just flash a different baseband to this device preferably Australian?
I have read that flashing a different model firmware will soft brick the device, i just want some insight before i start breaking things, also what are my options.
Much appreciated, thanks, Will
You have the snapdragon s7, you can't flash the exynos 930f firmware on it, you can only flash the american firmware. You might have luck with the 930u unbranded firmware just do some research on it.
Thanks mate,
I'm going to flash this firmware using ODIN, do you know if it will be successful?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s7/how-to/xda-community-love-g930u-t3415875
not sure how to check my bootloader version etc
No clue, goto the verizon subforum and see if anyone flashed the 930u firmware on their 930v.
Just tried to flash the firmware to my phone and recieved an error, the phone is now stuck at download mode with error:
sw rev check fail : [system] fused 3 > binary 4
this means the bootloader won't accept the firmware?
LOL, guess ill try another firmware.. Any ideas?
Ok, so my question ha a few points here. I have been flashing roms for many years but never really though of this until recently as I now have an unlocked phone.
1. As my Sprint Note 5 is unlocked, can I flash say the Unlocked Version of software to the phone taking away carrier branding? I manage a store from another carrier and I hate that when I boot my phone it shows Sprint. I know it will not trip knox as long as it is Official Stock software.
2. If I do flash said Unlocked version software replacing Sprint software, will it change my connection at all? I have seen that flashing ATT software on a Verizon device did manage to improve ATT tower connection however I wonder if this is maybe a placebo effect as opposed to actually changing the bands and connections the device makes.
If you guys could help me out that would be great. :good:
Cheers
There is no unbranded firmware for the Sprint model because well, it is a exclusive model so even if you flash XAS instead of SPR firmware some or all apps will still appear. The only way to get rid of everything Sprint is via custom ROM= tripped KNOX. The SM-N920P cannot run another firmware.
Hi everyone. I have a Galaxy S8+ that I bought on BackMarket a year ago. The phone has been great, but has always had problems with some phone calls going straight to my mailbox for no reason, texts not coming in then suddenly working if I send OUT a text. After some research and contacting my provider (United States, Ting), I was told that this is because I need to enable VoLTE. My phone didn't have the option to do so and when I called Ting again, I was told that this is because my phone was the International version and VoLTE wasn't supported on that model.
I thought that was the end of it, but this week I had the thought that maybe this is a firmware thing instead of a hardware thing. Calling Ting again, they checked my IMEI and said my phone should be able to do VoLTE. Great! All I needed was Odin and the right firmware (I was thinking G955U1, TMB). So here's where things get weird. As I started to set up for flashing my firmware, I gathered the following info:
IMEI.info says I have:
Model: G955F Galaxy S8+ (SM-G955N)
Here's the info I get when running the "Phone INFO ★SAM★" app.
Phone Model: SM-N950F / Galaxy Note 8
Firmware's CSC Code: XEF
Bootloader Version: G955NKSU3CRI3
PDA Version: N950FXXS5DSC6
CSC Version: N950FOXM5DSC1
Latest Firmware: N950FXXSDDTJ1
If I'm reading this right, it looks like I've had a Galaxy S8+ running Note 8 firmware? At this point, I'd still like VoLTE, but even moreso, I'd like to just know what's going on and what I should do about it.
Seems like somebody installed a modded Samsung firmware on your phone. Check download mode for KNOX, I think it will be tripped (0x1).
If it is tripped then no Samsung Pay and stuff that depends on KNOX. If you are fine with that and just want to get VoLTE working, download the right firmware for your device and flash it to stock. If stock everything is important to you, I suggest contacting the seller on BackMarket and getting a refund or something if the seller didn't specify tripped KNOX.
BTW, if I remember correctly G955N is the Samsung direct model sold in Korea, so depending on CSC and what not VoLTE might not work. Best of luck
Thanks for the reply.
So I ended up solving this with the help of a few people over on Reddit. Here's what was going on and what the solution was, for others that come across this.
The phone was running v6 of HadesROM. I guess the creator of HadesROM uses the Note8's OS build as his base for the Note8/S8/S8+, which is why the phone was showing up as an N950F. And the phone itself was a G955N, which is a Korean model.
At the direction of a few people on Reddit, I used TWRP to re-flash with the newest version of HadesROM and set the Firmware CSC properly to a US Carrier.
When the phone booted back up, the VoLTE setting was present in quick settings and works great.
Hello,
I have an A536V (I bought it used and it's not paid off) and every time I try to flash a different firmware (XAA, TMO...) it just says secure check fail.
The phone should be unlocked because my T-Mobile SIM card works for a few seconds until the signal just goes away and doesn't come back. So my question is, what am I doing wrong? Why can't I flash any other software?
P.S. I used the SamFW tool to change my CSC to whatever was available (on VZW software the only ones available were FKR and GCF, neither of which bypassed whatever stops my SIM from working).
Please help! Thank you!
secure check fail means its either the wrong firmware or to low of a revision than whats on the device as in you cannot flash older firmware But that being said you are bassicly admitting you have a subsidized phone thats blacklisted due to non payment. So no other help will be given more than likely here
Look at this: https://www.androidauthority.com/how-to-unlock-a-verizon-phone-1131315/
"Once you hit that 60-day mark, Verizon will unlock the device automatically. However, you’ll have to pay it off in full if you want to take it to another carrier."
Move to Verizon. Easily solved here. (Well maybe. I don't know what Verizon thinks of that with buying a used phone not fully paid off.)
I have the same question, but I have a Verizon phone that is actually paid off
EDIT
I just wanted to change CSC to remove the ugly Verizon branding on boot
It stayed unlocked when I switched to GCF firmware (XAA was not available since this is technically a hardware revision from the usual A53 5G, this is the A53 5G UW - ultra wideband model)
Anyway I found out from someone else you can use SamFW to do this for free in the ADB tab

Hello this is androidadmirer
I have a sm-a136u 5g united States
Version from metro pcs
I recently took the a136w Canadian firmware and combined it with my original firmware for the a136u and flashed it successfully
Everything works except the software update which I'm glad that it doesn't that way it can't update every time there's an update and the bootloader keeps changing anyway,
I got stupid a d decided to see what would happen if I patched the entire ap file through Magisk
It patched, I flashed it in Odin it took but then it gave me the verify error of course.
So it took me all day to figure how to unbrick it but I got it back
So my question is with some of the international firmware for the a13 5g
Could I port that firmware with mine like I did the other and the international firmware will allow bootloader unlocking and have oem unlock in developer options
Couldn't that throeritically work
Only problem is the waiting
I have to wait for bit 4 to come out on any of the other firmware right now only
Canada and the u.s are on bit 4
Anybody ? Any input is good input !!
