Rooted phone successfully with twrp + magisk, 4 hours later, +many reboots: BOOTLOOP - Google Pixel 3 Questions & Answers

Hey folks! Good to see yall again. Been a few years for me since I've had anything to contribute here.
This thread is meant to describe a problem.
So here's the scoop:
While trying to get a GPS spoofer to work, I happened down the inevitable must-root-path. Starting with a first gen ipod touch with a dope Halo theme, to my palm pre through my two samsung phones htc evo4g etc lmao its been a ride.
Seems like things have gotten slightly more challenging (or I've gotten too old to consider mundane crap easy....)
SO! TWRP loaded through adb+fastboot, then magisk patched current android 10 firmware.
Was that my issue? That's my guess.
Through the night I was trying to get a gps spoofer to copy to /system/priv-app/ and was struggling like hell. Plenty of reboots, plenty of uninstalling apps, etc. The last inputs I was trying to figure out are included in this album here
now i'm stuck in a bootloop that first starts at bootloader, then to google logo, then restarts, bootloader > google logo > bootloader > google loader
Please help!
I know the folks here are passionate and very helpful, if you need further info I will reply during after-blue-collar-work hours PST during the week.

I have tried to load in to fastboot, but can't connect to phone from adb without first enabling ptp or filesharing

Fixed, help no longer needed

[Q] Noob android question

I'm kinda new to the smart phones, and planning on getting a Samsung Galaxy S 4G. I like the specs on it.
But im so used to typing things with using the buttons on cell phones and using the up and down arrows to scroll.
I demoed the Samsung Galaxy earlier today and you scroll up and down the pages with your finger of course. is there any settings on the OS which is android to put up and down arrow keys on the screen, as well as left or right ?
any download recomendations for it ?
id rather just hold the down arrow key to scroll down then to swipe with my finger.
Also does the GPs built in on the Galaxy get the data from satelite or from the tower from T-mobile ? and do they charge u for the service ?
I am really needing help about my Samsung Galaxy GT-i9000. I've been searching the internet for 8 straight hours and still no go. Perhaps I am not good in searching or simply really not familiar with the situation. I tried searching here, too but it has now taken me a ridiculous amount of time and effort to no avail. Please bear with me. (this is my first post)
I rooted my phone about a week ago (after months of searching I finally did it!) Then it took me a while to flash a new rom. I got Darky's via the ROM downloads using Rom Manager - I was ecstatic! I was happy with it but out of curiosity I wanted to try Cyanogen 7 which, again, I flashed this morning.
I was able to flash Cyanogen 7 but for some reason the Android Market isn't working. So I decided to Restore the previous setting/rom (Darky's) but here is where the problem started.
I am now unable to use my phone. I just turn it on and I am stuck in "Galaxy S GT-I9000) forever. I press up+home+power but just goes back to the same screen. I tried down+home+power and I was just glad it worked. However, I don't know what to do. Based on what I have searched I (still unsure here ok?) might be required to flash a new base rom or kernel - really, all these information overwhelms me.
To experienced users, perhaps I don't know the right questions to ask. All I want is for me to be able to use the phone again. Please help me, 8 hours straight of searching has got me dizzied. How can I get past this screen? There are some information I've come across like flashing a base rom, which I wanted to try, but it asks for information such about my phone (such as whether it is JVx or JVy or JVanything) which I don't have because I cant get in it!
Please guide me? Thank you very much.
......Anyone know ?
Youll get used to it.

You didnt look hard enough...
Sounds like you are on a boot loop.
just download a stock rom from here and flash via Odin. Or install a custom rom via odin.
I personally semi bricked mine during and official update as I didnt remove OCLF before I did it. I just picked a rom off the thread and reflashed. I had no idea what was on there before but if you are putting a custom rom on anyway, I only did it to get rom manager working.
so long as you can get into download ( the yellow triangle) you can recover it easily in Odin.
Odin is a doddle to use aswell. Just follow the guides!
You need to wipe properly before flashing a new rom or restoring. Wipe data, cache and dalvik before restoring next time.
The reason you didn't have the market on CM7 is because you have to flash google apps (gapps) separately. This should have been explained in the thread for CM7 or on the Cyanogenmod site.
You need to read everything before you flash something, or else you'll run into problems.

You'll get used to the scrolling. If you must use other means of scrolling, Dolphin Browser HD has an option to use the volume buttons to scroll up/down the page. I'd try to get used to touch scrolling though, you don't want to wear down your hardware buttons.
The GPS built in is free, and it does use GPS satellites. Be sure to turn GPS off when you're not using it to save battery. The phone should come preloaded with Google Maps/Navigation. If it doesn't, download Google Maps from the market, it includes Google Nav.
For reasons other than navigation where you want to share your location with an app - for example, a weather app that determines your location - you can use mobile networks as a means of location. This way you can keep GPS off unless you need it for directions or navigation.
(from... Evo/MIUI/Tapatalk)
The built in GPS can actually use both sattelites and wireless networks to help get a fix on you location faster. You can choose to disable it in the settings.
Thanks guys! I actually was able to fix it a few hours after I posted here.. I didn't expect you guys to answer that quickly. I just checked back now ;-) I might have checked sooner hadn't I found a way around it.
Anyways, yes it was a boot loop. I remember finding this article saying how to fix it. It said I needed to download some files mainly Darky's and Odin. It was the first time I used Odin so I was really extra careful lol. It (flash) took me 3-4 hours because I was stuck again in boot mode. I did that process maybe around 3 or 4 times. Until now I'm not sure whether or not I completed it or simply flashed the same Darky I had as back up. I pushed too many buttons- can't remember anymore. (not so good in english, I hope I started that clearly. My first custom ROM that I got from ROM Manager is Darky's, then the fix that I attempted to use via Odin is also Darky's )
Anyway, I haven't flashed a new ROM since then. I'm going to spend a little more time with what I have. But knowing me, I probably will in a matter of days ;p
Thanks again!

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Rugby: various issues

Hello all,
I'm sorry, but I couldn't find any device-related subforum for the Samsung Galaxy Rugby (GT-S5690M). If my questions are in the wrong section, please move it to the right place (mods)?
So here's the story: I just got my first smartphone. Since it's locked to Bell, it has some bloatware and need for sim-unlocking. I did a lot of reading and through some tutorials I managed to root Android and got rid of some bloatware (just four Bell apps). So far so good! Then I tried to unlock the phone. There are some apps in the Google Play that state that they can unlock the phone for free ("works on various Galaxy models").
I tried them out, but none of them could provide a solution. The last app I tried (Galaxy_S Unlock) requested that BusyBox were to be installed, so I did. During the installation the app remarked that already some BusyBox version was installed, but not the version that it was trying to install. I was suppose to try another type of installing (I used the normal/safe mode). But it said it was already installed, so good enough. Right? I tried the unlocking app again, but it still said it had errors getting to communicate with BusyBox. None of the unlocking apps gave me the impression that they changed anything in the system.
I figured that maybe a reboot of the phone would fix this. However, now the phone got several issues:
- booting takes forever (18 minutes) It does the animated Samsung logo (though, not with sound any more) and then keeps on slowing the glowing Samsung name.
- the speaker doesn't seem to be working at all
- it can no longer check for updates. After agreeing with the disclaimer, it says it can't connect.
- KIES doesn't see the phone any more.
- the phone is generally very slow now. Even when typing a password the phone sometimes hangs for about 5-10 seconds. Loading the disclaimer for the Software Updater takes 10-15 seconds.
I tried to reset to factory defaults and reload the rooting zip file again, but to no avail.
I've been trying to read up on the isolated symptoms, but I'm simply starting to feel overloaded with all the info, especially since I'm a Android newbie.
Does anybody recognize these symptoms and, more important, has any tips on what to try to restore whatever has gone wrong?
Additionally, I would really be interested in knowing if there's a way to force-upgrade to Jelly Bean. It appears that this firmware hasn't been made available to Rugby users yet through the regular update channels. But are there alternatives?
Thanks in advance!

[Q] I9000 Not working due software mess-up

Hey guys!
First off, i was searching through loads of forums and attempted different solutions. Anything to get it back working. This only made it worse
What happened was as follows:
After having CM 10.1 or some version of it (had the OS at 4.3 i believe), my phone was very slow, so slow in fact that i got so mad at it that i almost bit through it. So one day when i was in a tent at the foot of a mountain all alone (not that long ago) i decided to rollback the phone to its original state from backup i made some months ago before i upgraded the OS. At the same time just before this i backed up the current build just in case. Using ClockWorkMod 3pointsomething.
It went through everything and then asked me: Do you want to root this device? (or something in those lines). I, having no clue, clicked one of the million "no" on the screen.
After this it rebooted with errors saying "Can't detect this drive can't detect that drive". In other words, it couldn't detect niether Internal SD nor External SD. While having the Samsung logo being displayed without booting if i didn't go into "Volume Up, Menu Key and Start your tiny engines!".
I thought i could fix it and looked through tremendous amount of internets in attempt to fix it. Neither Odin nor Heimdall Frontend could detect the device even after installing the drivers and samsung kies and messing about with those two in between.
After a while i ended up with "Phone . . ! in a orange triangle . . PC" aka black screen of death, while the phone can go into download mode. Which in my hand is equally useless as no program can detect it still.
Now i just decided to start a new thread even though there is endless amount of other threads but none seem to cover exactly this as i haven't yet managed to fix it. Plus a response on progress is always pleasant as i personally don't know when i succeed unless phone works fully again.
How bad off am i?
Any input will be greatly appreciated! :victory:
Hoping not to have to spend money on a new one and as far as i've gathered this can be solved - Anybody can give me some tips on where to look or what i could try?

New Verizon Ellipsis 10 Tablet

I purchased the new Verizon Ellipsis 10 in late November. I believe the tablet was released for sale in mid November. My question is can it be rooted? I see the Ellipsis 7 and 8 can rooted. Wondering if anyone would be working on this or because it from Verizon no one cares. I can't find the tablet mentioned on any search that I do. I Have been checking daily to see if the device will have development on it. Thanks in advance for any information.
In the same boat. Need some help you smart tech guys out there. How can I root my Ellipsis 10?
I have the same tablet, and I do not think it could be rooted, at least not in the near future. The tablet comes encrypted (which I am not too happy about....I just noticed it) and cannot be decrypted, even if you do a factory reset. It runs fine as it is, but would be greatly enhanced if it could be decrypted. I also think there are very few devs on this forum that really care a lot about this tablet, so you may not see too much work being done on it.
Same here, just picked one up. Really hoping that there will be a root for this at some point soon. Someone please help us all out!
wish I would have saved the 50$ now, and got the Samsung tablet for free... it's OK, the biggest problem for me is the audio output being too quiet. all the "volume booster's" on the play store have been jenky, to say the least. if anyone has suggestions of a "good, volume booster", or work around, please let me know. thank you for you time.
Oh, No! Sadness!

qtair7 firmware files
https: / / " www dropbox com " /s/f8ye7yw24mjqiva/IR7-20C59.7z?dl=0
just fix the text when u enter in address bar (-""'s,+.'s)
so i downloaded the IR7-20C59..7z package from the software upgrade/repair tool from verizon... I extracted the files and sent the boot.img to my tablet (qtair7) and used magisk manager to patch the boot.img then I used ubuntu to adb pull the magisk-patched-boot.img and modded it using abootimg and changed a few things from default.prop.. ro.secure=0 ro.debuggable=1 and drm.service.enabled=false .. (just saying im an amateur android enthusiast with little experience. ive played with image kitchens and compiled a kernel and ported a rom for the samsung on5 indie variant to have sound on my smg550t1. worked but all google services and apps crash constantly.. but anyways) i dont really know what im doing just saying this is what i did. repacked magisk-patched-boot-new.img then i sent the adb reboot fastboot command to my tablet and it fastboot flashing unlock , fastboot flashing unlock boot, fastboot flash boot magisk-patched-boot-new.img. fastboot continue, fastboot reboot.. the tablet boots and is rooted with magisk.. now i installed busybox to sbin. i have done this 2 times. im not sure if its the busybox or the magisk, but when i reboot following the above steps i get the verizon splash screen and in the bottom righthand corner of the screen it says modified. then boots to recovery. and now can only boot to recovery. now i have the upgrade/repair tool .iso on usb flashdrive that i use to repair my device from this state. which sometimes is a pita.. i have to continually attempt to repair sometimes it takes 2 days.. before it finally works.. i dont know why.. but it boots from fastboot the first time fine. and would like to know how to stop the soft bricking of my device or how i can obtain a twrp.img for this device QTAIR7.. please help ive been working on rooting my tablet for over a year. and feel that i am very close . thanx
Anyone interested in the system.img or any other partitions.. the Dropbox file is only the recovery flash files. I think. I know I couldn't edit system.img from the file with any kitchen but the system.img I dd'd from my device can be edited with kitchen. It's is 3.7gb so in not going to post unless someone can do something with them
Please share some info on the file you posted,..

Hello, THANK YOU!! This is the most progress I have made in months! I don't know what it is, what it offers, or what to do with it yet, but it is a step!
Could you maybe say what it is, what it will do (how it helps..) and what to do with it?
My Verizon Ellipsis 10 (qtair7), even after wiping the cache, even after doing a factory reset, (even after 'disabling' all but FEW APPS!) JUST SPONTANEOUSLY REBOOTS every time i try to do anything, I try to watch a video it is fine for 5 minutes or an hour then I push volume up or touch the screen and suddenly it reboots, totally random, Clearing the cache gets it to works for a while but it always does it again it has NEVER been usable really,.. It pops up some screen often like"Google Play Services have stopped' something like that,.. Will this help with any of that? Make it more,. stable?
I wish I could just do ANYThING simple to make it better I just use it for video playback,.
THANK YOU!
I have the same tab with the same issues. Rebooting, random cut out and full on reboot. Just before it became target practice I decided to take it apart, just because that's what I do when I'm bored and my ADHD is taking over. I looked up the tab on youtube to see if there was any vids of how to get it apart and found a guy that said he fixed the with the tablet that no one could figure out. Meh I was like ok I'll give him a couple seconds checked it out. He found that all connections, screws holding boards down, and power were all loose. Once he went through all of that it had fixed the issues. So I tried it and damn, everything from screws holding boards down to power feeds were all loose, really bad loose. Got mine working good now. Haven't had issues since. Now if I can get it rooted I'll be good. And I suspect the loose connections would also potentially cause the battery to go bad from excessive amperage draw and charge in short time, over time.

(Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8000) I need help!

Greetings, my fellow readers. I want you to bear with me and understand what I will say. I really need a crucial help. So, here it goes. I had a trouble, on my Device, which is the Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8000. In the past few years, I rooted this Device using Odin, but, I didn't install a CWM in it. I thought it wouldn't be that helpful. Then, years have passed, until, it was 2018, as of now. So, my device is Rooted, and its Grant Permission App is the SuperSU. Honestly, I really had fun in this Device, that's why it is so Special for me. Moving on, this is where my Trouble comes in. I am a very playful person when it comes to Clash of Clans. I really loved that game. But, because of my dissatisfaction, I did something terrible. I have heard about this App called "XmodGames", where you could install a lot of cool Mods and Features to a certain Game, and, Clash Of Clans is one of the Game that I wanted to play with Mods. So. I browsed the Apk of the XmodGames on Google, then later on, I've found one, and I downloaded it. But, while I'm installing it, the App can't seems to be installed in my Device, I don't know why, I don't know if it is because of my Rooted Device, because, you really need a Rooted Device to launch XmodGames. But, I tried installing it over and over again, but, all it says is "Application is not Installed". So, I've been thinking quite deep of how to get XmodGames to install on my Device. Then, I've got one, but, I didn't thought this would be my nightmare. I installed ES File Manager, then I enabled the Root Access or the Root Explorer. Then, I explored deep down into my Device's System, then in my App. Or, /system/app. In here, you could see a lot of Apk's of all of my User Apps and System Apps, such as Fb and many more. So, all in all, Apk's are all that contains inside of the App folder. So, what I did next is...... I copied the Apk File of the XmodGames..... then...... I pasted it inside the /system/app or in the App Folder. At first, when I got back to the Home Screen, I thought, the XmodGames would appear along my Applications, but it wasn't there. So, I thought of restarting my Device would solve my Problem so that the XmodGames would show up. So, here it goes, my nightmare. I, restarted my Device. From the moment that the Lock Screen showed, a notification in between popped out, saying, "Unfortunately, XmodGames has stopped". So, at first, I said, okay, this would be nothing. Then, I pressed okay, then the Notification went out. But, when I was swiping the Lock Screen, it wasn't working, because, it has been frozen. And I think, that the cause was the XmodGames. I can't even access the inside nor explore it. It just freezes, then after some meantime, it restarts back and pops the notification again. At that time, I felt so scared, scared that I think I've broken my Device. My heart felt depresssd and nervous and crying, I don't know what to do. This problem was so very different amongst the one I've fixed. But, I still kept thinking hard. What I could do to my Device is that, I could Switch it Off, Access the Recovery Mode, Access the Safe Mode, and Access the Download Mode. But, also, there is this one thing that I thought that I might be able to solve my Problem, and that is, by Formatting/Factory Reset through Recovery Mode. And so, I did that. But, I thought.... it was going to work. I thought it was going to wipe out all the Data and will Clean everything. But, when I got to the Lock Screen or the Introduction Set-Up. The notification was still there! The "Unfortunately, XmodGames has stopped" is still there. I thought it was over! Then, I felt more and more nervous. I don't know what to do, I am screwed. I was thinking of what I am going to the next, but. Damn... I really don't know. I am trying to flash it again with Odin with a New Firmware, but everything isn't working. The Odin takes too long, I don't know if it is working, I have downloaded so many Stock Rom and Firmwares, but, still no good. I don't know why. Damn! Right now, I am browsing some CWM to install next to my device, because I heard that it also have a lot features and advanced, other than a normal Recovery Mode. So, yeah... but... I don't know what to do.... Please, I hope you people can read this... I need help. I will appreciate all of your help and support. I just need to restore my Device back to normal and functioning again. Thank You. Please help me.
Totally fail to understand your long winded post .
Problem is what ??
TWRP has replaced CWM years ago .
Personaly I would flash Philz Refocery and format
System data cache etc.
Flash Twrp and install any custom rom youd like
