Hi all,
My LG G2x phone flash with Pheonix Blood 1.6 CM7 is acting weird. It would have full signal bar, but I can't make or receive call. I would get a message saying 'No Services Area', but then it would work again after a few try. It happen when I do not use the phone for awhile and it sit there on my desk or in my pocket. I seem to only get this error when I am using CM7, because the Miui Rom is fine when I try it. I google it but not many post out there with this issue, and the one that do has it has no answer. Could someone please help? thank you.
Android Noob
I'd say re-flash and if that doesn't fix it, go to a different ROM. I used Phoenix Blood myself for about a day, then switched. Check your PM.
Yeah try reflash a couple of rom, seem like any cyanogenmod base rom give me that issue, and Miui give me random crash.
Phoenix Blood is technically a mod based on CM7, don't blame it on CM7. I had problems with PB as well, the one I have now, none. Haven't tried MIUI.
Yeah, I try the stable build from cyanogenmod website, the nightly build from the G2X forumn, and Eagle blood with all the same result for some reason. Yet stock and Miui doesn't have that issue. So that was why I though it was a CM issue.

If so it would have to be something with your phone, I don't get that problem and I haven't seen it mentioned before. Let me know how it goes with the ROM and Kernel I mentioned to you, and don't forget to flash gaaps.
Yup tried that kernel and rom you recommended and still having the same issue. Guess back to either stock or Miui for now and hope for better luck with ICS.

Weird, sounds like a phone problem to me. Good luck.
Hello, I've tried various custom lollipop roms in the past few months and they all had problems. My personal observation is that the stock rom has always been more stable and superior and that I could not see any real functionality benefit with custom roms...Perhaps prism is the best one compared to all others.
Am I the only person here who has reached this conclusion?
Yes

You are right, if you have life out of your mobile phone then stock ROM is the best otherwise waste your life in never ending process of flashing and modding your phone......lolz. There will be a stage when you'll be happy that CM12.1 is half stable but then Android M will be out.
the stock ROM is much stable but it not so fast like custom, anyways you can try to use a custom for a while and decide what is the best for you
I also experienced that in costom always has a bugs... I using stock firmware together with Nova Launcher...
Stock here - 5.0.1 stable, smooth and fast. Don't see any point in changing.... And I used to be a big modder!
I tried cm 12.1 and returned to stock because it bored me. It didn't give me what I wanted. It's a bit overestimated. Rooting and flashing makes me addicted to phone. Never ending process. Always wanting more. Stick to original and enjoy.
Yes I agree with you till some point. Till now I have tried almost every rom out there for my 9505, but almost always I am coming back to stock. According to me and the current situation there are only two custom roms that are really providing stock stability and I have seen not a single bug, so they can be daily drivers. They are the current version of Danvdh's gpe rom (with the couple of the previous ones I had minor issues. At least after LP came out) and the second and the one where I have never experienced any single bug in no single version of it (LP or KK), and that is the TW rom from iB4stid (sadly he will not develop for 9505 anymore), goldeneye (and also goldenfinger in the time of KK). However goldeneye is almost same as stock so maybe thats why I like it.
The benefit that I see from using the goldeneye despite stock rom is that you can always use the latest rom relased but again stiching to the modem version of the operator that I am using my phone with (I do not have good experience with flashing separate modem packages), with that taking the best of both worlds. In this situation you have the modem that works best with your carrier and the latest base from samsung that has the same stability as the stock one.
Danvdh' gpe rom is good for me when I am tired from TW but again having very very stable and fast rom. Ive even have better battery life and I can say it is the snappiest rom out there. It is beyond Goldeneye regarding that criteria.
The only concern is surely that Samsung aren't going to release Android M for GS4? Just won't happen will it?
hi, i just bought i9505 , i want to install a custom rom but i hesitate.
Currently my i9505 is very stable and responsive with Stock rom based on lollipop 5.0.1
can you please tell me if is it a good idea to change to custom rom or not ? i want try UPSM and others mod
What is advantage if i change rom ?
is it easy to come back to stock if i decide to try custom rom ?
Thank you in advance
I've tried both custom and stock roms and I am now using a stock rom because I also own a Samsung Gear 2 Neo, which only works properly on the stock rom for now...

I thought I had seen that feature on Stock Lollipop? hmm, maybe not. Still, it's a niche feature (I actually work in business where conference calls are regular and we use a bridge), and as put Skype and Hangouts do it pretty well too.

I've updated to 7.1 19 and I can confirm that it is stable. No issues noticed so far. There wont be updates for the next two weeks until the Spring festival is over in China.

Well, CyanogenMod was a custom OS\ROM\Whatever you'd like to call it, but it wasn't something that most phones shipped with. And it turned out to be the most preferred Custom Android ROM, with custom ROMS being based on CM.
I would close my eyes and buy a device if I knew it had official support for CM (LineageOS). I bet most people would.
Apart from issues with their management and rebranding to LineageOS, I don't see what's bad or "worse" with it. Just saying that "Worse" is a strong way to put it.
I do agree that some custom ROMS, no matter how stable have a few bugs\drawbacks occasionally, but so does the stock ROMS.
It is custom ROMS that use a lot of MODS which are generally more prone to stability issues. By mods, I'm referring to certain features like Bravia Engine\ Dolby Atmos ported from another device.
I cant comment on the EPIC ROM as I haven't tried it. But from what other users are saying here, it seems to be a pretty decent and stable ROM, despite having a few extra MODS.

That's why I said almost always. CM and PA were two that could be relied upon for stability.

Try RR man.

Honestly, no. All give me random reboots and none that I've seen take pictures as well as stock. As RR is also based on OpenKirin's device tree, it will also result in reboots to erecovery.
I'm sticking to stock at the moment.

Did you even get my point? I'm not the only one having it working properly. Yeah there are many complaints, but not 100% of the users who flashed it have the problems. Might as well try it yourself. It's better than reading the comments.

Apparently you don't even read your own comments... OP's question is about STABLE roms... In your own words, the rom you mentioned has "many complaints" about it...
....
....
And again, as I said, many OTHER people mention having those same problems. As in, I had them as well. Stop making assumptions about what I have or haven't done, especially when it's there in my words. I'm going to go back to lurking now, not that I imagine that will stop you.

Yes, the ALL unstable if you have GPS enabled. Some of them don't allow you to switch between 3G/4G (the switch just doesn't do anything), none of them can show the actual GSM signal strength and none of them even close as fast as EMUI 5.
So if you are 22+, you have a job, use you phone for calls, use navigation in a car or Uber to call taxi (thus, live in a city), none of them can be considered as stable.
And if our honorable developers would write all this it there OPs, rather "fast and stable" or "BUGS - you tell me", they would save me several hours.
I've installed a variety of custom ROMs on my OP9 (EvolutionX, Nameless, Extended) and they all have the exact same problem: audio doesn't work properly, buggy, randomly would not connect to my Google account, etc. Since they all had the exact same issues, my guess is that it's a problem with my phone and not the ROMs themselves.
Does somebody know anything about the problem and what can I do to fix them? I'm fed up with OOS and would really like to use another ROM.
Ok everything you have listed is built from Lineage aosp. Therefore everything is gonna have same bug. If you notice the lemonade/p official lineage builds have stopped around the 12th and 14th of February .New ones are coming soon with merged patch that fixes all issues. Then devs from other roms will build on new fixed source and so on. Like throwing a pebble in a pond. Takes time for the ripple to get out. Watch lineage os website/downloads/op9
