Lag when pause/play music - Google Pixel 3a Questions & Answers

So I have this issue when using my wired earbuds when pausing music and pressing the pause/play button on my wired earbuds to resume playing. There will be a delay of anywhere from 5 to 20 seconds before music starts playing again. If I wake the screen then press the pause/play button on my wired earbuds, it resumes playing instantly.
I experience this issue using Spotify, Deezer, and YouTube Music. I tried making these apps not optimized under the battery settings but the problem persists. Anyone have any solutions to removing this delay when resuming music?

Same issue here haven't figured out a fix.

Works flawlessly for me using the wired earphones that came with my 3a xl (pretty sure only Australian models came with earphones) using omnia music player.
The delay is about half a second. I get about the same delay when using the controls on my Bluetooth DAC as well.

[Q] When music is playing, navigation volume is low?

Okay, I'm kind of curious what is causing this problem. I'm using NSCollab 1.09 and have used CM 7 RC2. Whenever I play music while using navigation, the navigation volume is very low when directions are being spoken. It's low enough where I won't hear it unless I turn the volume all the way up on the car stereo.
When I use navigation by itself, it's fine, the problem happens when I also play music at the same time. It never happened with CM 7 RC1 variations. I did do a complete wipe install with both roms that I mentioned earlier. Kind of wandering what's causing this to happen. Subsonic is my main music player.
Oh, the navigation volume is maxed out when this happened.
Any ideas?
Btw, searching for "navigation volume" brought up nothing useful.
I have exactly the same issue (almost) on my Desire HD.
When I have any sat nav (CoPilot or Navigator) running along with music app (PowerAMP or HTC Music) the sat nav voice iss too low - but only when I have audio cable plugged in!
Everything works fine when not audio cable is plugged in
running with stock android OS or with CM7.03-ns I have the same issues when using bluetooth... but only with third party music apps. if i use the builtin music player the navigation audio comes thru perfectly.
anyone ever find a solution to this issue? I have the same exact problem with my phone.
I also have this problem when I use Grooveshark in combination with Navigation. Haven't yet tried navigation plus stock music player though.. would be interested to know what others think...

I also have similar issue. Google navigation volume is way low when I am using TuneIn music internet radio player.

Same issue here with Tunein and Google Maps. Other music apps work fine, only Tunein has the issue.
Is this a Tunein bug? Any ideas?

Playing music and phone calls with headphones

I've got a really annoying problem; when listening to music on the headphones that came with the phone and a call comes in, the music appropriately stops to answer the call. But when the call ends, for any app other than the stock touchwiz music app, music will not start playing again until I unplug and replug in the headphones. It says music is playing, but no sounds comes through. The stock music app is mehh, I far prefer play music or power amp. Has anyone found a fix for this problem?

No, but it is annoying. You can also pause for maybe between one and two minutes then hit play again to make it start.
Also found that unplugging/plugging doesn't work if done too close to the end of the call.
Edit : fix ... see two posts down:
On beans 11 play music works. The only problem is occasionally when a song ends the next one won't start until I turn the screen on. But in terms of phone calls it fixes my problem

Okay, figured out the problem.
Go to settings, then motion, and at the bottom of the list uncheck (palm touch to mute)
Especially being in a case, it triggers the proximity sensor and mutes the music.
Haven't had a problem since I found aand unchecked this setting, so at least foe me that's what the issue was.

Google Navigation w/ Music

I have my S3 connected to my car radio via Bluetooth. When I have music playing from my S3 and Google Navigation running , I noticed the audio cuts out supposedly when the lady is giving me directions but I hear nothing. After a few seconds, the music comes back.
If I don't have music playing, then the voice comes out loud and clear. Any one know how to fix this?

The navigation volume is independent of the bluetooth volume. Try starting navigation while disconnected from bluetooth and bumping up the volume then connect to your stereo.
I've never had this issue. For me, the navigation volume and music volume are both tied to the media volume setting.

Phone stutters if notifications come through while playing music

Hi all,
So this is a stock Nexus 5 (root only) and I have noticed that if I am playing music with PowerAmp or streaming music with Xiia, if a notification comes through (email, viber etc.) the playback stutters for a few seconds and the notification sound is never fully played. On my previous phones the music volume would go low, the notification would play, and then the volume would go back up. With the N5 it just stutters.
Anyone else have this issue?
I think it just mutes for a split second if listening to music. It's not a stutter, I'm sure i read it got changed so if you had headphones in you didn't get deafened my a loud notification sound coming through

KitKat Headset Audio Stopping

Has anyone else come across this bug?
At first I thought it was related to Google Play Music but then I tested Power Amp and TuneIn and it's the same.
Whenever I plug in headphones and start playing audio, it works.
Then I lock the phone or switch to another app and audio is silenced.
But you switch back and it's continued playing without any output to my headphones.
Is there a solution?
i9300 running KitKat.
Anyone? :-/
