I have my S3 connected to my car radio via Bluetooth. When I have music playing from my S3 and Google Navigation running , I noticed the audio cuts out supposedly when the lady is giving me directions but I hear nothing. After a few seconds, the music comes back.
If I don't have music playing, then the voice comes out loud and clear. Any one know how to fix this?

The navigation volume is independent of the bluetooth volume. Try starting navigation while disconnected from bluetooth and bumping up the volume then connect to your stereo.
I've never had this issue. For me, the navigation volume and music volume are both tied to the media volume setting.

I have an adapter with microphone that allows any headset to be used for calls and music control, with iPhone. Tried to use it with Inspire 4G and got no sound whatsoever (regular headphones work fine, but of course, no mic or music control then). Pictures of HTC headset with mic show similar 3 ring insert, but something must be slightly different. Has anyone successfully used a microphone headset specifically for Inspire 4G, and/or an adapter that will function with any set of headphones?
I have 1 with an inline mic.
However the sound quality when I plug it in is HORRIBLE compared to just headphones.
Dont know why.
Have tested this with 2 inline mics.
I'm using a Monster iBeats in ear set with my 4G. Sound quality is great for music, very good for phone.
My inline mic will pause music but the volume does not work for music.
For phone calls, I can mute, unmute and answer, but volume control does not work.
This set on my wifes iPhone the volume control works for both music and phone and also allows you to forward itunes tracks.
I just use the volume control on the side of the phone on the Inspire with this headset.

I do not notice any difference in sound quality whether I use the Mic or not.
I'm running Rooted Stock ROM with bloat removed.
There is an app called Headset Button Controller
Just installed it and I can adjust the volume, move forward and back in music tracks and also turn volume up and down with this app installed in media apps.
Interestingly it only uses the center button to do all this on a three button headset.
In phone mode center button ends call. So it does not change anything compared to not running it.
I'll run it and see how I like it, initial impressions are it fixes what doesn't work native with the headset in media mode.

Wow.
Im starting to wonder if there is something wrong with my phone now
I THINK what is happening is that when I connect my mic it switches from Stereo to Mono. Duno tho.

I have purchased this app and will say that it is great. I use the same headset that I use to use with my ipod but now I find it easier to use. I use my phone while riding the motorcycle and I feel like.I have greater control over the music now..only problem I am having is people can't hear me through the Mic on the headset. Any ideas. No it didn't work before I had the software.

Okay, I'm kind of curious what is causing this problem. I'm using NSCollab 1.09 and have used CM 7 RC2. Whenever I play music while using navigation, the navigation volume is very low when directions are being spoken. It's low enough where I won't hear it unless I turn the volume all the way up on the car stereo.
When I use navigation by itself, it's fine, the problem happens when I also play music at the same time. It never happened with CM 7 RC1 variations. I did do a complete wipe install with both roms that I mentioned earlier. Kind of wandering what's causing this to happen. Subsonic is my main music player.
Oh, the navigation volume is maxed out when this happened.
Any ideas?
Btw, searching for "navigation volume" brought up nothing useful.
I have exactly the same issue (almost) on my Desire HD.
When I have any sat nav (CoPilot or Navigator) running along with music app (PowerAMP or HTC Music) the sat nav voice iss too low - but only when I have audio cable plugged in!
Everything works fine when not audio cable is plugged in
running with stock android OS or with CM7.03-ns I have the same issues when using bluetooth... but only with third party music apps. if i use the builtin music player the navigation audio comes thru perfectly.
anyone ever find a solution to this issue? I have the same exact problem with my phone.
I also have this problem when I use Grooveshark in combination with Navigation. Haven't yet tried navigation plus stock music player though.. would be interested to know what others think...

I also have similar issue. Google navigation volume is way low when I am using TuneIn music internet radio player.

Same issue here with Tunein and Google Maps. Other music apps work fine, only Tunein has the issue.
Is this a Tunein bug? Any ideas?
All my other phones will pipe the phones audio output through the cars BT. This is great for GPS because all the voice prompts go through the car speakers. This includes my RAZR MAXX HD.
I got my Droid Maxx today, connected to my cars BT and everything works the same with music...but all other audio prompts from the phone still go through the phones speaker.
Others experiencing this? Found a solution?

Driving me crazy. If music is playing while I am navigating it will go over BT but super quiet while the music is fine. If I pause the music, back to nav coming from the phone speaker.
I've tried disabling Assist, setting up Bluetooth over again, same difference.

my nav sounds were NOT going through BT, someone on android central suggested turning up all the notification sounds on the phone. it worked. weird.

You mean the 4 volume bars in settings? I had all mine maxed out. *shrug*
Ok, so I got the nav sound to work at a good volume by messing with the 4 volume bars when connected to BT.
Unfortunately, if I pause the music, the nav sound goes back to the phones speakers which is my biggest problem. I use nav a LOT but rarely listen to music.
Hey all I have a note 4 phone and while in the car I stream my audio via Bluetooth ,a2dp, also I use navigon navigation that stream the directions also by a2dp. Wondering how I can set the volume for navigation lower than the music? While navigation is active the Music mutes then the navigation directions come through, but its to loud and I would like to quite them down but the volume buttons also turn down the music, Any ideas??
I cannot get Spotify tracks to pause/stop with the centre button on my BT earphones. All other buttons work including pressing same centre button to Play a track. It is annoying as I have to go in to the watch menus to pause audio when running, instead of single pressing centre button. Odd thing is if I switch to the default music player the centre button works properly and toggles between play and pause/stop.
Are other people seeing this same issue with Spotify?
I am using JBL contour earphones and running Spotify offline with music stored on watch. Seemingly it is a but in the app as the headphones work fine with the default player.
