Due to my limited knowledge on github, I could not keep previous commits from TpmKranz's Eclipse based project while moving to gradle and Android Studio build structure. Hence I started a new repo with TpmKranz version as base.

In this post I'd like to thank the original author TpmKranz for his splendid work on creating such an awesome app that perfectly suited to my needs and I hope is equally true for others. Thanks to him for keeping the app open source in true community spirit. That is what makes it possible for people like me to contribute to it, and also gain valuable knowledge in the process.
I wanted to have some extra features and that is what compelled me to work on the app. While adding the proximity sensor features, I figured out improvements for some parts of the code like changing loops to event based triggers. This was entirely for my personal taste and usage, but I've decided to share my work hoping people will find it useful.
And as per rules and community spirit, the source is once again open for all.
In future updates, I plan to bring blacklist support, multiple notification handling and other improvements, while keeping the app simple and minimalist as it is now.
I'm not a pro in android app development but this is my only 2nd big endeavor after Shareboard. So it's all a great learning opportunity for me in advanced android coding.
I welcome all suggestions and feedback and also help with the code if you could.

Hey looks great so far! I desperately have needed an app that gives me notifications on the lock screen and have been very disappointed with the options so far.
Here's a few suggestions, if you don't mind:
Turn off the screen when you dismiss a notification instead of having it go to the lock screen.
Perhaps some option to remove the notification from the status bar if you dismiss it from the app
Have not used it enough to see its impact on battery but that is the nail in the coffin for any lock screen app
Again, still starting to use it but I hope it will remove the popup if the notification disappears (synced notifications on hangouts)

First of all, thanks for your reply. You're the one and only till now.
About your suggestions, yes they are very useful and good suggestions indeed. I'll try to implement them one by one.
About battery usage, I myself have an OCD about my mobile's battery drain. As far as I've used it, there hasn't been any significant idle drain.
I've seen reports of huge battery drain in previous thread, but in this version, I've improved the code and removed all wait loops and made it event based.
Please let me know how you feel about it after some days of usage

The screen is not awaking / lights up for any notification even the mobile is not in pocket. Generally the screen light up will help me to know there is a new notification.. But in this case i am unable to notice it until I unlock the mobile.
The issue seems with proximity control, can you please provide an option to disable until it works properly.

Multiple notification isn't handled in current version. It'd only show the last notification. All others will be there in your notification drawer.
I'm doing some work on it to possibly add it in a future update.

Hi, thanks for implementing the requested feature. Yes, I am using Xperia P, the proximity sensor is not working all time the screen is not lightning up every time. in previous version(1.9) we don't have this feature so screen will always lights up when ever there is a notification.

I like the functionality of this app, I was trying to suggest to the PA team to expand peek this way, but they aren't interested, so i will share the concept i made with you too, maybe you can implement some of the concepts behind it, to simplify and polish the interface a little bit.

[APP][4.3+]Bring Always On Display feature from S7, LG G5 to any android devices

Many modern-day phones, including the Galaxy S7 and LG G5, feature always-on displays that show snippets of info even when the screen is switched off and locked. You don't necessarily need a 2016 flagship to get this feature though - you just need the right app. Glance Plus is designed for this propose, it shows some basic info in black screen when you waving your hand over proximity sensor or always on display.

1. Notifications does not show up ?
- Access to notifications needs to be enabled (open Setting, click on the "Show notification" option for notifications and allow access to Glance Plus)
- try to restart the phone
2. Waving my hand over my phone doesn't work
- Try waving slowly
- You may need to wave very close to the proximity sensor (should be located just above the screen) on some devices
- Try reinstall app
3. Battery is drained more quickly
- Go to Glance Plus/Setting, reduce Brightness and Time before off screen
- Turn off weather info
- Check exactly how much milliampere that app consume (may be consume few milliampere but os still showing it's take much battery percentage)
4. Detect phone on table doesn't work
- Some device doesn't support accelerometer when screen off

Hi, it depends on capacity of phone battery and your settings. On my phone (Nexus 5 2300mAh), peek mode only consumes 0.5-1%/h

OK. Could you please add up the individual in app purchases for me then -- all of them.

I went through the app and checked each additional add-on. There are five (CAD$):
remove ads: $178
notification reminder: $1.41
always on: $1.69
auto-rotate: $1.15
adaptive brightness: $1.15
This seems like a good way of monetizing. Gives the user the ability to only pay for the features he wants. For instance, I think I would only want "always on", so that will only set me back $1.69.
In addition to these add-on features, the user can also choose to purchase additional background pictures for $0.99 each.
Has anyone tried the "always on" feature. I would be very interested in battery consumption on an amoled screen.

nice app, heres some feedback/requests for you, i'm using the S7 Edge.
Is the "always on" feature supposed to hide when put in your pocket? because it doesn't turn off in my pocket, Samsungs AOD feature will do this.
Ramdom location sometimes clips/hides the notification icons when its decides to be at the bottom of the screen
Show quick launch notification, whats this? is the notifications like SMS/Gmail supposed to open when i tap it? if so the screen isn't interactive.
Please add random location pixel movement like Samsungs updated AOD feature, it only needs to nudge randomly 1 pixel every 1-2 minutes, perhaps the clock can also be at the top region of the screen.
Have the ability to turn on the the "always on" only when a notification arrives feature would be nice as well as the ability to hide the clock, and just keep notification icons.
Please have the alarm clock "detailed" underneath the clock instead of to the right.
Disable backlit back/recents keys from glowing when Glance Plus is active would be good too,
thats all i can think of at this time.

Hi just checked out the app, it's very clever and I'm sure you'll do well with it. I was going to request a grey scale gradient as most S10 owners like dark wallpapers for OLED screens but I've found this is a paid for feature. I attempted and failed to be able to send email feedback via the app so I've found the post here instead. Can i request that you add support for different styles of the ring such as dots or different amount of dots so i can pattern match my wallpaper.
I'd like to be able to blend it into the stars more subtlety. When used in combination with the Samsung App Good Lock to disable the battery icon you would be able to achieve a great affect.

Just donated and got the grey scale look I wanted. Would love that ability to make the line different amounts of dots... however I noticed this continuous message is there a way to suppress this?

A simple mirror would not work, need to tailor the App to the specific device to have consistent experience across all 4 possible screen rotation. I consider making a View 20 version in future!

I do consider to make a separate App for that, but lack of ability to disable on LockScreen and AOD, not sure it's worth creating just to reply and explain to every user that why it can't appear on Lockscreen AOD.

Screen burn-in:
The original variant of the App, Energy Bar has been used over several years by users on their AMOLED devices, there has been no complains. But there is no claim that it may not happen.
Samsung automatically moves few pixels every now and then to avoid screen burn-in which includes Energy Ring moving away from its original position. This change in position will however be visible only when you have set its thickness to minimum.

No charging animation?
If you see no charging animation, it's probably because you have turned on this system setting which prevents Energy Ring from animating!
Settings > Accessibility > Visibility enhancements > Remove Animations > *uncheck if it's checked*.

I found a bug when I use the double-tapping wake up function. My device is S10e.
Sometimes the double-tapping function will not respond and couldn't wake up the phone. I need to hit the power key to wake up.
But if I tried to disable this app and everything will be fine and double-tapping is ok.

Since the proximity sensor is not working properly at the moment and I'm forced to keep AOD off your app is very useful to light up the AOD when my phone is on a table and receives a notification. Thank you very much!!!
Also the instructions and the UI of your app are very easy and intuitive. Great job.

Great work! One issue is any notification from within secure folder will not work with app.
Also people who like me want AOD while charging their phones try Bixby routines.

I was pretty sure I posted in a thread exactly like this.
Anyway, thank you for your work.
Two important ideas:
1) When I get a notification on whatsapp, it turns AOD on. Great. But if I read the message on Whatsapp Web, AOD stays on until I turn the screen on,. It should disable AOD when the notifaction goes away.
2) It needs a schedule. I want AOD on tap to show + on when new notifcations, except when I go to sleep, then I want it off.
It's a great idea and has future, but for now the Automate flow "AOD LED S10" actually works better for me.

Its the first release, more to come soon

Sorry, bad wording from my side. I meant, I would not like to have AOD set to 'on' unconditionally when charging. Of course it should do the normal job and come on when a notification comes when charging.

i think its the best app for s10 Notification

Please add the option to just turn AOD for 15 seconds... Not just leaving it on while if have notifications! Great app, thanks!

Battery Saving tips for all devices
Good news is you no longer need rooted device on Android 11+ to enter device in doze​
* Turn off lockscreen notifications, you will surprise with battery backup.
* Use pockect mode if you keep your device in pocket most of the time
* Give the following adb command

yes It has, Just double tap on outside widget to exit, press on hold to clock widget for live brightness

I do get the warning as well I dont have Google Play Developer Account and unfortunately They dont accept my debit card for registration and Its lockdown everywhere so didnt get proper response from Google Play

Hi, Thanks for using the app.
Fingerprint works on all devices for only on devices with In-Display sensor to get it to work you must be rooted and you need to provide your existing PIN/PASS in the settings so app will automatically enter it. You need to press n hold outside the clock and fingerprint sensor will come up
Soon I am goint to update the Settings UI where I will add a lot customisations.

Did you save the pin first?
You need to press n hold outside the widget. Pls see the screenshot attached

The pin will not show even if you save it for security purpose. In case you want to chang the PIN just enter it again and save

I tried it several times.
I saved the PIN
I pressed and held at the recommended area but no fingerprintarea appeard

Hi,
i´m using your app on a OP 7 Pro. I do have no problems so far. The only issue is the batterie drain that´s pretty high. At the end of the day i´m at 50% batterie left, without your AOD at 75%. But so far, very nice app, thank you very much for your work. :good:
