I'm on Android 10, and all my contacts have low res photos in phone app, even if I replace the photo with new full res.
Is there any solution for this ?
I have the same problem on Oneplus 7 pro. Is there a solution?
This is likely your contacts provider sync. Native Google works fine. New exchange server and clients works fine too. Use the Google contacts app from the play store
The problem occurs with the oneplus contacts app, I installed Google contacts and synced all the photos of the contacts in high resolution, even in the oneplus app you have fixed the photos, then I disabled Google contacts app. However should fix the bug from oneplus, on the 6t I never had this problems.

Hi all, I need some help. I can take a photo with the camera and then select a contact photo from within it, and it turns out fine. However, when I manually push a photo taken from another device (my 8MP camera) and I select a contact photo from within IT, the photo becomes pixelated. Although my brain may be playing tricks on me when I say that, at first, the contact photo doesn't look pixelated, after a while it looks horrible. Does it have anything with my contacts being synced with Google? As they appear to be pixelated on my laptop as well when I access my contacts under my Gmail account. ??????
Google compresses the pictures on Google Contacts. Turn off that sync or use Facebook for contact photos

I figured something like that was up. However i went under menu>more>accounts>my gmail account and deselected contacts, however all of my phone contacts are still linked with gmail. Argh! Ive rebooted with no success, it seems like the contacts are still syncing. Any suggestions?
Ok so I know it's been talked about before but I still haven't found an answer. I'm trying to sync my Facebook photos with my google contacts on my Inspire and I can't seem to get good quality let alone high quality. I read somewhere that syncing with google causes this problem but that's the whole idea is so that my contacts are backed up. I mean if there is a way to not sync their photos with google just the phone I'm down for that but I HAVE to have my contacts instantly backed up with google.

i believe google down sizes the photos to a poor quality. so the work around is to allow the Sense UI facebook to pull your facebook images and replace those on your contacts. but i do not believe google will take those new better photos and store them.
its an HTC Sense thing.

Can you just NOT sync the pics with google?
Can anyone tell me how to get good looking caller ID pictures?
When I synced my contacts with facebook quality of the pictures were terrible, so I got some pics from my Nikon, crop and resize them to size about 1000x1000px and still they don't look really good when calling :/ Maybe I should use different resolution of these pics, or something...?
Since I don't have facebook, I can only tell you how my friend did it. He used FriendCaster from play store, and ticked option to synchronize HD pictures from FB. That gave him good looking photos in contacts Now he is using haxsync for sync, which also gives such option, and disabled sync in offical FB app

Ever since the Google+ app update yesterday with the new UI and interface my dialer app and people app on Nexus 5 don't show my Google+ contacts photos anymore. It's only showing the photos I have added to specific contacts in my Gmail contacts on the PC, otherwise the contacts show up as the generic silhouette. Anyone else have this issue? Did they change the setting in Google+? I am not seeing what they changed it to.

I have been trying to use google photos from the messages app, and it just keeps showing a spinning circle and never shows my google photo's. I thought it would be awesome to attach my photos from my google photos without having to save to the device. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks
Well Google photos will work but only from the Google messages app (not the stock OnePlus app) so I just made that the default SMS app.
