How do i unlock my bootloader and install twrp on SM-J700H - Samsung Galaxy J7 Questions & Answers

I am looking forward to unlocking my bootloader and installing twrp then rooting but I am unsure on which Galaxy J7 version I should get? Please tell me which version I should get.

To unlock the boot loader - go to Settings, Developer Options.
Make sure OEM Unlock is enabled.
For TWRP- go to twrp.me, look for devices, Samsung. Select Samsung Galaxy J7 Exynos SM-J700 (j7elte).

Can't install bootloader on Core Prime G361F

I have the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime G361F and have successfully installed the rooted rom from this forum on it.
I am trying to install Xposed, however it says I need a bootloader like TWRP, however when using Odin 3.10 and TWRP 2.8.7.1 I get a device notice saying it is blocked by FRP lock.
Is there any way I can get past this lock and install xposed?
Thanks

Flash Bootloader using twrp Samsung S7 (exynos)

Hi everyone, I am new to rooting and custom Rom flashing. My question is that is it possible to flash bootloader with twrp? I have a exynos s7 and it has been rooted. I have accessed twrp too. After January update the bootloader has been changed (updated) and now you cannot downgrade to android 6 with the bootloader (only Rom of Android 6 can be installed but bootloader will be of Android 7). So I was thinking of changing the bootloader!
Trying to downgrade the boot loader could hard brick the phone.

Could or would ?
Is there some cases with hard bricked phones reported ?
Search around, not just the s7 forum but all Samsung forums starting with the s3.
Samsung bootloaders for some of the USA carriers are locked. In cases where the bootloader is unlocked, it does not mean the bootloader can be downgraded to an earlier version.

[Q] Root Canadian galaxy s7

Hello i recently bought a galaxy S7 SM-G930W8 (Canadian / BELL Mobility) and its veen updated to the latest it can which is android 8.0 (oreo) and id really like to root it without havibg to change my stock rom actually id just be glad to get it rooted also the security patch is up2date as of july 1st 2018
The W8 is an exynos model so the bootloader should be unlocked, flash twrp through odin, do a factory reset, reboot to recovery from TWRP itself, flash no-dm-verity zip which should be in your memory card, if you don't have one use mtp in TWRP and copy it to the phone, then install magisk zip and you should be good to go. you can find those two zip files in the forum or just a simple good search.
Did you have any luck rooting the SM-G930W8 on 8.0? I just acquired the Canadian S7 and I'd like to root it, but I know it's different from the American S7's, and all I can find is how to root the Canadian S7 with Nougat.

It doesn't matter which carrier it is, what matters most is the chip and the bootloader, the Canadian variant uses the Exynos soc so the steps are the same just like the international model. Start by unlocking the bootloader and installing a custom recovery, download TWRP for herolte, on your phone enable developer options, then make sure OEM unlock is checked, turn off your phone and boot into Odin, then flash the TWRP image, make sure to uncheck reboot after flash in Odin. Once flashing is done, manually reboot your phone and make sure to enter the recovery mode, do a normal factory reset, the one that asks you to write YES to confirm, then reboot to recovery again, plug your phone to the computer and copy the latest magisk zip then flash it, and that should be it basically.

I thought the Canadian variant with Exynos already had an unlocked bootloader? There are already instructions on how to root my exact model, but the assumption is 7.0.
I have rooted other phones before, and sometimes the requirement for a version of Android before rooting is very specific. I have no idea where to start to even verify whether the bootloader is truly unlocked, whether or not I can proceed with rooting despite having a different Android version (in my case, 8.0, not 7.0), etc.

Sorry there, I guess the correct description would be tripping knox rather than unlocking the bootloader, since you're already familiar with the process then I can tell you its totally the same, nougat and oreo aren't different enough for anything to change, allow OEM unlock, install twrp, do a data wipe, reboot to recovery again, install magisk zip and you're good to go. You might need to flash the dm verity bypass before magisk, that's another zip you can download as well.

How can I enable OEM unlock?

I am trying to root so I can flash TWRP to install Lineage OS (unofficial build for S6) but OEM unlock won't show up in developer options! Would be grateful if someone could help me. Device model is SM-G920V if that helps.
It should be impossible on the Verizon variant
