I am trying to root so I can flash TWRP to install Lineage OS (unofficial build for S6) but OEM unlock won't show up in developer options! Would be grateful if someone could help me. Device model is SM-G920V if that helps.
It should be impossible on the Verizon variant

4.7 tool, follow the Steps
If you just want to root your device and install a recovery on it (TWRP) then I recommend having a look at my article about flashing a recovery and rooting your 6039 without having to unlock your bootloader I certainly hope I can help you with this.
OEM Unlock is not showing under developer options in the Lineage OS 15.1 firmware. Before flashing the Oreo 8.1.0 (Lineage OS 15.1), I had the stock rom (android 7.0) and OEM Unlock was enabled...
I didnt do the Nandroid backup, so I want to flash back the original official firmware from SamMobile.
Now I want to flash back the stock ROM but I cant find the OEM option. What should I do ? My hardware nis lenovo k33a42 karate

Lineage probably doesn't have the OEM unlock option because it isn't required, it is assumed that if you are using lineage then your bootloader is already unlocked because you can't have TWRP or lineage installed if the bootloader is locked. Besides, the OEM unlock setting is a feature of stock ROMs, not custom ROMs.
If you want to flash the stock firmware, you can just flash it without needing the OEM unlock setting.
As far as I know, Sammobile only provides stock firmware for Samsung devices, you have a Lenovo device, you can't use a Samsung stock firmware, you need the Lenovo stock firmware for your specific model number.
Do a Google search for:
"Return to stock (your model number)"

hello!
sorry for my english...
you have to flash the file "RMM-State_Bypass_Mesa_v2.zip" with twrp or other, rooting your device with magisk for example closes the oem. by flashing this file, your oem will remain open

Either way, the OEM unlock setting shouldn't be needed if you already have LOS installed because the bootloader is already unlocked before you install LOS. Or are you saying that this file needs to be flashed after restoring stock firmware to get that option to show up in the restored stock firmware?

I'm also on LOS 16 on my s7 SM-G930F international version and I cant go back to stock ... trying several version of odin with several stock rom from Sammobile .. everytime after the flash starts it fails after couple of seconds???

I am looking forward to unlocking my bootloader and installing twrp then rooting but I am unsure on which Galaxy J7 version I should get? Please tell me which version I should get.
To unlock the boot loader - go to Settings, Developer Options.
Make sure OEM Unlock is enabled.
For TWRP- go to twrp.me, look for devices, Samsung. Select Samsung Galaxy J7 Exynos SM-J700 (j7elte).

Device: SO-03J (Docomo)
Software: Android 8.0
Build number: 41.3.B.1.197
Status: Not rooted/Bootloader locked
Bootloader unlock allowed: No
Hi, I want to ask if my device here could potentially flash a global rom or any other stock rom variants that could enable me to unlock the bootloader. If can, I want to know which roms are allowed to be bootloader unlocked. I personally dont care if things will be buggy and wont work because as soon as I flash the roms I would quickly flash twrp and flash my chosen custom rom (If I could..and thats one thing again to ask. Can I flash any custom roms posted on XDA to my phone...?). As to why I'm asking this question is that I'm looking to boost my devices performance, latest android version(if possible),prolong battery, resolve heat issues and resolve the terrible wifi signal (keeps disconnecting and poor reception). I hope I've given enough information for this and sorry for the multiple questions asked.
Same with my Xperia Z1 but still can't unlock the bootloader if bootloader unlock allowed say NO
yes. you can flash global rom via using sony flash tool
working fine..but bootloader unlock status still says NO
but flashing global rom makes more useful..
I need some help unlocking the bootloader on my Samsung A01. The instructions say to enable developer mode — basic stuff — and then enable USB debugging and OEM Unlocking. You guessed it: the OEM Unlock option just ain't there. I tried the trick with chaging the date and checking for updates, but it didn't help. Please, can anyone give me some help that will actually fix the problem? I just want to root this damn thing.
To root phone's Android unlocking phone's bootloader is NOT required.

Ok then. How do I do it? All the other guides tell me I have to. And how would I install TWRP, which I definitely want to do?
Every guide I look at tells me I have to unlock the bootloader first.
You do NOT need to root your phone's Android to install TWRP - a custom recovery, but you will need to unlock the bootloader. Take note that Android OS has nothing to do with phone's bootloader, that Android OS gets launched by bootloader if device didn't get tampered.

Ok, how do I just root for now? I want Magisk. I'm trying to install it with ADB, but I'm getting Error 21.
Furthermore, how do I unlock the bootloader when the system doesn't want to give me the OEM Unlocking option?
You do NOT need to root your phone's Android before to install Magisk: you typically root Android OS by means of Magisk.
You install Magisk via TWRP what requires an unlocked bootloader. You unlock a phone's bootloader via FASTBOOT tool what requires OEM Unlock option got activated before applying the bootloader-unlock.

So basically until I can use the OEM Unlock option, I can't do a darn thing, can I?
So how do I get it?
I'm going to ask for help on this again. I've been around the forum, I've looked for anything I could find, and I'm still no closer to getting this thing solved.
