Xiaomi also has several more modestly-priced phones on the Android One programme, which guarantees long-term security updates and* software support for all its devices.
Currently that list includes the Xiaomi Mi A3, the Xiaomi Mi A2, Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, and the Xiaomi Mi A1. The first three are guaranteed the update, while the latter device (which was launched on Nougat) may have reached the end of its cycle with the upgrade to Pie.

Yeah, but the way they written it makes it sound like they are optimistic that it will get it. The author could just be hopeful though. XD
Same speculations as in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/help/mi-a1-android-q-10-t3937773.
I.e. really nothing new...

Article is clearly saying that Mi A3, Mi A2 and Mi A2 lite will get it...
...but Mi A1 has finished its travel when it got Pie, so, no lights for Android 10 in Mi A1 by Xiaomi's hands.

The first we need to know is how to enter diag mode, in miui seems to be *#*#717717#*#*. I'm on cm12.1 and that doesn't work.
I think our phone only support band 40,
My be our device hardware is incompatible for band 20.
but if somebody finds a way to unlock then it would be great.
How about this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2871269

Title: Xiaomi introduce l’anti-rollback su Xiaomi Mi A1, Mi A2 e Mi A2 Lite
Source: Xiaomitoday
In the article above (in italian) they explain how Xiaomi introduced the Anti-Rollback in the Mi A1 and other phones. They explain how this implementation is the main reason behind many phone bricks after downgrading from 9.0 to 8.1.
If this is true (I have not found other sources to confirm this, although plausible), my suggestion is to wait for a stable/non-buggy version of Pie befor updating.
I hope this could be of any help to someone else!

Well, I've "rolled back"" just fine. AND flashed LineageOS 15.1 once stock Oreo was done. So that info is fake news.

I really hope it is fake news, however it was even posted on the MIUI forum by a super moderator:
Thread title: [News] Rollback Warning for Mi A1 after Upgrading to Android P
and by another moderator on a different thread:
Title: [Others] Rollback Warning for Mi A1, Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite after Upgrading to Android P
This being said, I did not say it was certain, but it is better to take some precautions rather than just flash the first beta that pops out, before deciding to go back due to bugs.

Unfortunately some "other" sites seem to revel in posting scare stories to enhance their Google SEO rankings. It drives traffic and makes them money...
It's always better if someone posts "news" that they have experienced themselves, of course.
But in the case of the Mi A1 at least, going from the December Pie update (which isn't that great IMHO) to the Oreo November build is fairly painless and completely successful.

Sad to break it to you but these petition doesn't accomplish anything. Instead you got bombarded by change.org email.

Mi A2 always had confirmed android 10 because of the obligatory 2 year support for Android One.
Mi A1 is already past that time so now it will only receive security updates, same will happen next year with Mi A2 and android 11
It never happens as mia1 had pass 2 year support
Hi everyone, I use Mi 10S (also a Mix 2s device as second phone), but I didn't find Mi 10s forum here.

It's not because of MediaTek but because of no much developer interested around this model, for such a little price difference it doesn't worth it versus the Redmi Note 10.
Keep an eye in Redmi 10 and Redmi 10 Prime XDA forums (as their share internals) if something new comes, in the meantime you should post here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/redmi-10-10-prime-selene-global-roms-and-flashing.4359019/.

Wait, it's not Redmi 10 but Redmi 10 2022, then your device is not related with the link I gave you, just wait some time, few days that your device was released, development usually might start passing at least 3 or 4 months, I didn't compare the specs to the other Redmi 10 variants though, and IDK if it worth it but the other 2 really are a great no-deal, the Redmi Note 10 take all the prizes from all of them.
