if you're on miui then you don't have to flash it. almost every custom rom need pie fw so only they have to flash pie fw

Do you mean I can do this from recovery menu of the phone like a normal update?

what i meant was that i always flash new custom nougat ROM after i flashed some firmware updates.
i did not mean flashing MIUI ROM
so, i can just flash this firmware on my AOSP based ROM, wipe cache after that and reboot?

[Solved] Camera error after Android P Beta - Can't connect to camera

Hello,
i switched back to the xiaomi.eu rom from Android P and now my camera doesn't work anymore.
I also wiped and formated my hole device and installed the offical global rom again but still the same problem:
The Camera always shows the same error. I really don't know what to do anymore.
Alternative Camera apps like Open Camera don't work too.
Were you using MIUI 10 based on Pie?
If so, that's the problem. I avoided this problem flashing (via miflash) MIUI 9.5.19 and than installing TWRP and Xiaomi.eu 8.8.3.

i did. I flashed the official global rom with mi flash but the camera still doesn't work.
The last time it worked was while using the Mokee 8.1 Rom (linked here in xda).
I'm really afraid now that it's a hardware error. That would be fatal.

Please, try using the 9.5.19 stable. Everyone that I know that returned to MIUI 10 beta after Pie had this camera error.

I've tried
Official V9.6.4.0 Global rom - Camera doesn't work
Xiaomi.eu 8.8.3 MIUI 10 Rom - Camera doesn't work
Then back to Android P Beta - Camera doesn't work
AND now back to Mokee 201808161126-NIGHTLY and the camera does work with the stock Snapdragon Camera
So at least it's not a hardware defect.
But why doesn't it work in all other roms.
i will try the 9.5.19 stable...
Edit: Has worked, thank you again!

Please do that! I would have never come up with that solution by myself, also that it only works if you go back to that specific version.
I asked myself why that's the case.
If you read Closed beta informations, mods told us to NOT back from MIUI Android P based to Oreo ROM because it WILL cause camera FC.
Thanks for give us the solution.
So, after flashing 9.5.19, could I flash latest Miui10 OPEN beta and camera will still work?
9.5.19 by miflash
Miui10 by twrp
Right?

I was on 8.8.7 (really sucks). Finnaly went back with any problem:
Flashed 9.5.19 (global stable) through miflash. Bootup and check if camera is working.
Reboot to fastboot and flash miui10 8.8.4 through miflash too (mods says on miui10 update threads than if you come from v9 STABLE you have to flash miui10 beta through miflash. So did it.
After miflash ends and auto reboot device, I just pres vol-&pwr to reboot to fastboot and JUST BOOT (not flash) TWRP v8.
With twrp running, connect to pc and copy to device a previous twrp backup of v10 8.8.2.
Restore it and reboot.... Voliá! I didt remember my phone was so fast! LOL

Okay I see. You should give a try to MIUI 8.8.16, it's Android P base too but with lot of fixes compared to 8.8.7, and very very fast (280K AnTuTu), 60 FPS for camera etc...

You're supposed to be on Global Stable 10.3.8.0. The dev roms ended 5 months ago, so you're most likely not going to get an OTA for MIUI 11.
Either you can flash the update zip through TWRP, if you have bootloader unlocked, or you can go to the updater, manually select the 10.3.8.0 OTA, and wait for the MIUI 11 OTA notification.
Maybe trying to do the same with the MIUI 11 OTA on the OP post could work, if you don't want to flash the 10.3.8.0 rom first, but I don't know if it's safe, considering you'd be going from Beta MIUI 10 to Global MIUI 11.
Also, you'll most likely lose your data in the process, so doing a backup is recomended.

Is this the MIUI version where they added widevine L1 to Poco? My phone is from very early releases and I changed the ROM before MIUI included Widevine for Poco, but some Devs say that you can flash MIUI to get Widevine and after that flash any other ROM and you will keep it.
Many thanks for sharing a TWRP flash package

First thing, do not try it. Im having bootloop/white screen glitch. Only fastboot mode is accessible. (Im at work so its a ****ing hassle)
Second, it was already removed in sourceforge (might be reported by users)
Third, stay at your current version or update to 13.0.9 ffs
Now it's available on SourceForge

Pretty sure that's Xiaomi.EU and not the same as official MIUI. Dirty flashing Xiaomi.EU over official MIUI is just asking for a corrupt data
That's the same as Official.
